ITunes to iPad Home Sharing not syncing all music

I have a new iPad (the one just released; iPad 4?) and an older MacBook (about 3 years old or so). When I open iTunes and set up Home Sharing on the MacBook, then open the Music app on my iPad and enable Home Sharing, not all of my music shows up. Some of it (around 10% maybe) appears. It seems to be a random selection.
Anyone know what might be going on here?

I find the home sharing can be a little finicky at times. Reboot the ipad by pressing and holding both the home and sleep/wake buttons at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
Rebooting your macbook might work as well.
Rebooting the wifi router by unplugging it for 5-10 minutes.

ITunes does not sync all music on 4s with new MAC

My daughter has an iPhone 4s that was sync-ed with her Windows PC. She recently got a new Macbook Pro. We added all her music to the new MAC and then tried to sync via "sync all checked songs" and iTunes is missing many songs. We then tried to sync by selecting artists and such and let it wipe all music. Once it was wiped we tried to sync fresh again and it still missed many songs. It sync partial albums. She is able to drag and drop manually to correct the missed songs, but would prefer to fix this so she can sync normally in the future. What can we do to get this fixed? I really dont want to do a restore and start from scratch...

I´ve tried every possible solution listed, those that have worked for others...nothing has worked. My library has about 2777 songs of which at first only 1370 loaded. After syncing w/o music, which deleted all music from my iPhone, I then selected Sync Music again and synced...well this time only 391 songs were added!!! It skipped the other 1400 I already had in! I´ve come to notice that these 391 songs are the ones purchased directly on the iTunes Store, but previously I had ALL my CD´s ripped and loaded to my iPhone.
I don´t know if this has something to do with the new iTunes version, but please, please, someone give me some light! I don´t want to go and convert all 2400 songs from MP3 to AAC..!! It´s not practical!

some purchases are not syncing to my ipod touch.

Assuming they all play in iTunes on the computer all I can suggest is the standard fixes:
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Iphone will not sync all music to computer.

I have the newest version of iTunes and my iphone4 is upto date. Now my "Purchased music" from itunes snced with a little bit of messing with but all my"un-purchased" music will not export to itunes. When I click,"on this phone" the "un-purchased" songs are on there, but it will not goto my itunes library. When I gotto sync, it is saying it will erase all music files on my phone, which is the opposite of what i want. i want to put the rest of my "unpurchased music" on my itunes on my computer. PLEASE HELP!

The sync for music is a one way sync from ypur computer to iPhone and not the reverse. If you can't move the original music into that iTunes library, and that is the best answer, then you will have to look for a 3rd party app to help you.
I have used Senuti when I had a PC disaster to do what you are trying to do.

About 6 days ago, I got on the computer to mess around and adjust my genres because some were wrong, the it just froze when I got to a certain artist. My iPod savvy friend said that I should probably restore it to factory settings and all that jazz and I did, since then, when I attempt syncing, it will get to between 10% and 25% synced and I just want to tear out my hair. I recently got iTunes Match and don't understand why I can't have it enabled and sync all of the selected music I wanted. All of my music appears to be availible in the cloud as I have the option to download on my phone over WiFi which would take forever. I have tried manually syncing my music and I selected all of my playlists and only ten or less songs are syncing to the phone after sync is "completed." I have tried this with iTunes Match on and off on my phone. I'm frustrated because I got an iPhone so that this process would be easy. Any help would be appreciated.

Called Apple, somehow most of the songs on my iTunes got "unchecked" and only the few "checked" songs that were left were syncing onto my iPhone.

HELP! My 5th Generation iPod Classic will not sync all music.

So, I recently bought a 5th Gen 80GB iPod Classic (used) from eBay and I just got it in the mail today. However, when I try to sync it, it starts to sync normally, the progresses to slow down, and eventually stops syncing. While iTunes is syncing the iPod, the screen on the iPod says that it is "Synchronizing" and eventually goes to the "Connected" screen which is why, i think, it isn't syncing. Yes, regarding space. When I first reset the memory; it had 3 GB of room. I didn't add any other music or applications.
Do the non-sync songs play? Well; I thought they did. However, as I try to play them I get a message about not being able to locate the songs. I did change the path in the Preferences section. And - it looks like it found files one I manually told it to look. I'm going to re-sync and see what happens.

Ipod will not sync all music to itunes

I have just over 200 songs purchased from itunes using using Windows XP. New computer is Vista and when I try to sync from my ipod to itunes I get a message that tells me the last 100 songs cannot be transferred because computer is not authorized. Have re-authorized compter twice with no avail. How do I avoid losing $100 worth of music and build up my library on the new computer?

IPhone 5s using iOS 8.1 not syncing all music from iTunes

Before I updated to the iOS 8.1 (though I didn't ever do iOS 8), I was having problems with my computer saying some of my songs could not be located, then it randomly started working again, but my phone would show all the songs, and none of them would actually work, and look as though they were downloading themselves. Now that I've updated it's working for more songs but I'm still missing half of my library.

Did you already try to consolidate the iTunes library? iTunes will search for all listed music and make sure that all songs are part of the library:
Consolidate your files in the iTunes folder
You can consolidate all the files in your library in the iTunes folder—for example, to make it easier to move your library to a new computer.
Choose File > Library > Organize Library.
Select “Consolidate files.”Files remain in their original locations, and copies are placed in the iTunes folder.

I pad will not sync all music and photos

My I pad 2 went into recovery mode after trying to do a software update. Now when I try to put in music and photos it will only put in a little bit of what I have. I tried both methods of syncing and the same results occur. Selected all folders, and selected individual folders, but nothing works.

I'm in the same age bracket and would never give up! I learn new things every day.

One of the most common things that you can try first is to disable your antivirus software and firewall and see if that helps. Restart your PC and the iPad, check for driver updates, etc. All of this is covered in the article and the links in the article.

This is how you restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

IPod will not sync all music.

I am having the same problem as well. I have updated my iTunes, I have restored by iPod. Since restoring my iPod (I was running into some skipping problems) I have not been able to reload all my music to the iPod. iTunes keeps telling me that I do not have enough space. I have created a playlist to see how many files that I have checked, and I have less than 3GB. I working with a 4GB iPod Mini. I have removed the update playlist only option, it will still only allow me to update playlist and create its own playlist and not just automatically update all songs. Do you have any ideas??

it wont ene get past preparing to sync
then comes up with failed to sync as another cync client is running. i have no other applications syncing with the phone.
It has only happened since the 4.3 update and updating itunes.
