ITunes to iPhone -- iWon't connect
I mean really? I am using iTunes 11.dot.whateveer. My iPhone is on the latest itteration of iOS6. I am on a suped up PC designed for gaming using Vista (ug, I know). And I have deeveloped a workaround:
When the iPhone won't connect to iTunes, I unInstall iTunes and reInstall it.
Its iMagic! The iPhone talks to iTunes for 3 to 5 syncs and then suddenly, for no apparent reason (and I have been actively testing to try to duplicate the reason, trust me), the iPhone won't connect. So I go back to step one: uninstall and reinstall.
It is the iDiots do loop.
And clearly I am not the only one with this problem, which seems to be proliferated across just about every platform, brand, and configuration. The only thing I have not found is someone trying to sync an iPhone on a Linux implementation, but I am sure that wouldn't work either, despite the fact that every Apple OS has been Unix based for years.
So what's the story, Apple? I love my iPhone. I live with iTunes (it is a resouse hog like MS Outlook). But I am really iRritated. ...and so it seem are many of your other customers. I mean, if this were Microsoft an update would be out in 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the complexity of the patch. We're all waiting.
Oh, and if any users have any thoughts about how to avoid the above described issue, please let me know.
I'm on a PC, so I'm not sure it's relevant, but I do appreciate the response. The problem is in the new iTunes upgrade to version 9, I left the phone plugged in and it alternated between syncing and charging, while my iTunes was frozen and unusable. Worked 100% fine before, I'm wishing I hadn't upgraded to the new version at all.

My iphone won't connect to itunes or my computer!
For some reason when I updated to the new itunes my iphone 4 stopped connecting to my computer and itunes. I have tried restarting my computer and my iphone but nothing is working. I have tried plugging in different plugs thinking something with the cord but nothing! But when I try to connect my iphone my computer makes the sound as if it is connected but my phone is not in my computer and my iphone shows its not connected
Couple of quick questions on what does happen with your computer when you plug the phone in.
First - Does the computer show an auto play window when you plug the deivce in? Basically asking to import pictures.
Second - Does the device charge on the computer?
Third - Laptop or desktop?
Fourth - Is the phone plugged into the closest USB port to the power supply on the computer? These seem to be standard USB 2.0 ports (unless you have a really old or a really new computer).
Fifth - Did you uninstall all 6 pieces of iTunes or just the iTunes progam it's self? -

How do I find all the purchased items on my iPhone? When I try to update the iPhone iOS while connected to my MacBook it says there are purchased items on the phone that have not been transferred to my iTunes library and that I should transfer them before updating.
Thanks. This seems to have worked easily.

I want to use an old 3 GS iPhone that is no longer in service as a phone now as just an iPod to play music. When I connect the phone to the computer with iTunes running, iTunes says it can't connect to the device because it didn't get a valid response from the device. How can I get the system to recognize the phone, and let me rename it as my iPod, instead of my phone?
As an aside, the current installed operating system on this old iPhone is 4.2.1, but that wasn't one of the selectable options in the operating system list dropdown below. Don't know if that makes any difference.Hi maddogdne,

trying to activate my iphone 5. when connected to itunes its says i need version 10.7. but when i try to update, it says that im current at 10.6.3.
iTunes version 10.7 requires at least Mac OS X version 10.6.8 if you're running a Mac, or Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later if you're running Windows.
Is your computer up-to-date enough for iTunes 10.7? -
I am getting a 42404 error message when opening itunes and itunes will not let me connect my iphone to it trying to get me to restore. I need help? I am not that technically inclined and really simple terms are appreciated.
Try downloading the songs from a different device. If you are doing it from your iOS device, try form your computer.

My ipod (version 6.1.3) was connectiong to my home wi-fi just fine until I uploaded new music from my itunes via my laptop. Now my ipod and my iphone will not connect to my wireless network. I've uplugged my wireless network and reset my network settings etc... nothing seems to work. Please help!
Does the iOS devices connect to other networks?
Does the iOS devices see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
Since both iPhone and iPod stopped connecting I suspect a problem with your network. -
Hi everyone! I tried to install the new iOs 7 on my iphone 4, but it wasn't completed (showing error 4005). Now, my iphone is stuck on the itunes' logo with the usb cord, and I can't use my phone. And itunes doesn't detect my iphone when I connect it on my computer, so I can't put it in recovery mode or someting like that... What can I do?? I tried everything they tell me to do in the apple support but nothing seems to work. Thank you!
No problem, glad to help!
Update: my PC USB hub was connected to a USB 3 port, I connected the 30 pin cable directly to my PC, And the restore worked just fine. Restored phone from iCloud backup and seems to be working fine. -
New iPhone will not connect to iTunes Store. Not able to activate
I bought my iPhone 3 weeks ago from an AT&T store and use it everyday. It works fine. I bought one for my wife 2 days ago from the same AT&T store and it does not work. After spending 2 + hours on the phone with Apple level 1 and 2 support, the final diagnosis is a bad sim card. (Apple phone support was very good and very professional) They are in process of sending me a box to mail the iPhone in for service and I am confidant they will fix the problem. I am disappointed, however, the iPhone did not work out of the box and I now have to wait for service on a brand new iPhone.
Has anyone experienced the following problem?
When connected to iTunes, the iPhone is not able to connect to the iTunes store and I receive the following error message, "We could not complete your iTunes request. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active." I was not able to activate it.
The iPhone screen itself shows the iTunes logo and the sync connector. iTunes does not give me the ability to activate the phone nor make any changes to it. iPhone shows up in the device listing, but that is it. There are no settings in iTunes for making changes or setting up the new phone.
When I plug my iPhone into the computer, everything works fine. The new iPhone does not. I tried everything Apple recommended including: Resetting the phone and deleting / reinstalling iTunes, but nothing worked. So, here I am waiting for service on a brand new iPhone that I have paid for and am paying for monthly service, but cannot use. Kind of stinks...
Anyone have a similar problem?2 things
one they will overnight you the box and give you a overnight box to send to them (fedex)
two call them back they will also overnight you a free iPhone loaner for the next few days if you ask -
My husband and I share an Itunes account so use the same email address and password. Our iphones are now connected and we get each other's messages and share each other's contacts. How can we stop this happening?
A couple of different approached:
Create a second AppleID for one of you that includes the email address and phone number you wish to use for messaging, but do not apply it to the iTunes and app store (just keep the current one). My wife and I do this and it works quite well. Also allows for easier syncing of Contacts , notes etc. using icloud if you wish to do that.
Add additional emails/phone numbers to the existing account and change the Send/Receive settings for Messages. this will not fix the Contcts isues for you however.

Massive bug by combining Shadow/Highlight and a cross fade
Hi. I found what appears to be a bug by using a cross fade between two clips with the shadow highlight effect. I cross faded two clips (240fps AVCHD from FS700) each with RGB Curves and Shadow/Highlight and sometimes I get this nasty side effect. The
