Itunes top 25 playlist: Amount of playbacks higher than it is in real

So in the top 25 smart playlist it says for example that I listened 1 song for 1400 times which is definitely not true. Why does the program say that? I only listen the music on my Ipod Touch 4G. I have newest ipod touch with newest firmware and newest itunes.

From a previous post....It worked for me...
Simply go the Playlists sidebar on the left side of iTunes, right click (or option-click) the playlist (this is the iTunes playlist we're talking about, not under the iPhone in the sidebar), select Edit Smart Playlist and untick "Live Updating". Sync your iPhone and then if you want to turn back on Live Updating with accurate results you'll have to go back in and retick it, and add a new rule where "Playlist" "is" "Music". Sync again and things should be back to normal.

  • HOW DO I RECOVER MY TOP RATED PLAYLIST?? PLEASE HELP

Hello guys, i dont know how my top rated playlist was deleted from my itunes, now i cant plug my ipod to sync with mu itunes because my top rated play list will be deleted,I thougt that play list was undeletable but it disapeared from my itunes.
Please help me how to get that playlist back again.
    Thanks in advance.

The iTunes Top Rated playlist was simply a Smart Playlist. You can recreate it, here are the parameters:
Open a smart playlist and put a check mark in the first box (match the following rule)
Then from the pull down menus, choose the following:
    -Rating
    -Is greater than
    -Three Stars
and then a check mark in "Live Updating"
(This is the generic iTunes version of this playlist.) Of course, you can tweak this to make it fit your parameters better. Good luck!

  • New 7.01 Problem: iTunes locking up while scanning for "playback gaps."

Anybody have any ideas on how to fix this? When I open iTunes, it immediately begins scanning for "playback gaps" and locks up after maybe 20-30 songs...and it does not consistently lock up on any one song it is scanning.
This is most frustrating: the 7.01 upgrade has rendered iTunes non-functional.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I USED to be able to get a playlist or two, I had gotten 5 GB of music back on it by putting 1-2 playlists on, ejecting, plugging back in, rinse, repeat. Now iTunes locked up AGAIN, checked the iPod, NO MUSIC. Really glad I bought this ******* piece of **** two years ago! Totally worth my money!
Now, on top of all this, I find this in the help section.
    Symptoms
You may notice the following symptoms on your Windows PC after installing the iCloud Control Panel, iTunes 10.5 or later, or Safari 5.1 or later:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
    iTunes is slow to respond.
    Windows is slow to respond.
iTunes stops responding when backing up or syncing with an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Oh, so you mean that since you guys released 10.5, (and its now up to 10.6.??) people have had this issue of their iTunes not responding? What the ****. So basically since 10.5 people have had their iTunes not working correctly? Fix this crap.
I already did the LSP check thing, only one besides the apple one are two windows ones that are up to date and should be there. There is no other help to be had. What a joke.

  • Is there a way to organise the files in itunes media into playlists? i have a large playlist that i wish to add to a hard drive but i don't want to have to look up each file location separately.

You cannot put music onto your iPod without using iTunes, that what iTunes is for.
It's also not a good idea to wipe the music from your computer and having it only on your iPod. We see countless posts here from people who have done just that - and then lost everything when the iPod needs a Restore. Even if you never need to Restore your iPod, what happens when you eventually replace the iPod? You'll be back here asking how to get the music from one iPod to another. That's not easy to do, we see countless posts about that too!
A much better idea is to buy an external drive (a proper external drive, not simply an iPod) and put your large amount of music onto that drive. Then point your iTunes Library to that drive. However, you need to remember two things:
You still need a backup of that Library.
Using an external drive as your iTunes Library means that the drive must be connected and ready to read before starting your iTunes programme. If it isn't, then iTunes will look on the C: drive - and you will find no music in your Library. (Once again, lots of posts about that as well!)

  • Fix for Top Rated Playlist...On the iPod?-\

    Hello-
Love the iPod....great place for all of my music...LOVE IT!
I miss a feature that was either forgotten or taken out when the update came for allowing podcasts on our iPods with Color Screens...the ability to rate songs on your iPod and then have the top rated playlist on the iPod reflect the top rated tracks. The only way this can happen is to rate the song on the iPod, sync it with iTunes or to rate the song on iTunes and then have it sent to the iPod. When on the road (which I am alot) it WAS great being able to do this on the fly.
This has been posted on other iPod enthusiasts sites as well....not bitter about it, just want that feature back. I don't consider this a new feature from the latest video ipods, this was a feature that was listed in the iPod I purchased and would very much like to see it put back in.
Any word on an update for the iPods with Color Screen? Thanks so much for your help.

I've got the same ipod as you with the same updates and i am still able to rate my songs via the ipod and then the smart playlists will update straight away. Can't think why yours isn't working but i thought i'd just let you know that it is still possible.

  • "Top Rated" playlist keeps getting replaced

After I updated my iTunes, my "top rated" playlist keeps getting replaced by random songs that I never rated on my desktop iTunes.  I suspect that I may be rating them on my iPod at the gym on accident, and when I plug in my iPod to transfer new songs, my iTunes would replace my original top rated songs with only the ones I accidently rated with my iPod.  Before the update, Whatever I rated songs on my iPod, it would not sync with my iTunes.  When I plug in my Ipod, it would simply use the list that I rated on my desktop iTunes and the playlist would not change.  I prefered it this way, but the new update, my top rated keeps getting replaced by random songs.  Is there any solution to this?  Thanks.

I am having the same problem with my Top25. I was on the phone with apple and they claim that it uses the music that is only synced with your iphone to create a top 25 play list---something that was added in 3.1 apparently. Therefore if you only have 100 songs on your iphone, your phone will create its "own" play list based on thos 100 songs, not your actual music library. However my play list is just a bunch of random songs, most of which were not on my iphone. I explained this to apple, but they swore thos songs had to be on my iphone some where...glad to see i'm not the only one having this problem.

  • Top Rated Playlist

If I rate a song 5 stars on iPod, will the song be automatically added to the top rated playlist? I'm so disappointed with the playlist function on iPod, it's very weak & heavily dependent on iTunes. I had a Sony mp3 player before, which allowed me to create/delete a playlist or add/remove songs to a playlist directly on the device, however you know iPod can't do that...

Thanks for the info, Chris. I tried out the Top Rated playlist and it does work as you said, however strangely other default smart playlists like Recently Played or Most Played doesn't. I'm confused by that and also aware of a few users on this board that are experiencing the same problem too.
Speaking of the second question, probably you mean I should use the on-the-go playlist to create my own playlist, but the solution is kind of tricky, at least inconvenient, because I still can't add/remove a song to the playlist created by on-the-go. I can only accomplish the goal by adding the whole playlist as well as the new songs to a new playlist.
One more thing, why the song doesn't blink after my holding the central button, what I got is a menu with the option to add the song to on-the-go. I really don't want to go through the process each time adding a song. Please help, thank you!

  • Problems syncing Top 25 Playlist post 3.1 update

My Top 25 playlist is not syncing right to my iPhone 3GS after I updated to 3.1...I thought maybe it was a problem with iTunes 9 so I tried it again after updating to 9.0.1 & it's still not right
    anyone else have this problem?

yes - I noticed the problem yesterday - I synched a few times and finally the playlists loaded
I have several playlists with settings to load the most recent items that work fine in iTunes but when they get to the iphone they have the oldest podcasts rather than the latest
I saw the notes in the 9.0.1 update that they had fixed some issues - but they did not fix this one
now I can't create playlists that will load the most recent files - this is running on a Mac too.
Apple should roll back to a working version

  • Top 25 playlists etc gone..

My itunes just stopped working...i got my songs back but now i dont have any top 25 playlists or music videos etc...does anyone know how i can get it back? thanks.

I can't recall all the default playlists but they are just Smart Playlists and you can recreate them. In iTunes go to File>New Smart Playlist
    "90s

    You can do 50s, 60s, 70s & 80's by adjusting the range
    Recently Added:
Match the rule "Date Added">"is in the last">"1">"Days" make the days and the interval to suit yourself, you can have days, weeks or months.
    Top 25 Played:
Uncheck the "Match the following rule" box
Then check "Limit to">"25">"Songs">selected by "Most often played"
    Recently Played:
Uncheck the "Match the following rule" box
Then check "Limit to">"25">"Songs">selected by "Most recently played" make the "limit to" to suit yourself.
    Top Rated:
Match the rule "My Rating">"is">"5 Stars" You can make that as many stars as you like from 1 to 5. Or you can make your rule "My Rating">"is greater than">"3 Stars" for example.
    Video:
Match the rule "Video Kind">"Is">"Music Video" You can also have Movie or TV Show
For all of these also check the box "Live Updating"

  • I have an iphone 6 with the most recent iOS.  iTunes Match is on.  Music app only showing songs purchased on iTunes and no playlists are displayed.  Just happened when updating iTunes Match.  Solutons?

I have an iPhone 6 with 64 GB of memory.  I have iTunes Match turned on my account and on the phone.  Suddenly, the Music app is only displaying music purchased directly from iTunes and no playlists are displayed.  This occurred after updating iTunes Match on my PC; when new music did not appear, I turned off iTunes Match off/on the PC then did the same on iPhone 6.  It looks like iTunes Match is trying to do a full download to the phone but it never completes.  Ideas?

I am trying to burn some cds from my playlist on itunes, but my playlist shows many of my songs in light print and says that it will not burn because it is not a file, these are all songs I have purchased quite a while ago, how do i get them to files?

If they were songs you purchased from itunes, try redownloading them from your purchases...
if that doednt work, make sure the optuon to copy files to itunes media folder is checked in settings, then find and download from the net. and re-add them to your library

  • I am having a problem with iTunes deleting my playlists since iTunes Radio came online. Help!

First of all, I'm a music teacher and loyal to iTunes.  Last week I came in and turned on my computer and opened up iTunes. I keep my entire library on an external drive due to the volume of songs I have.  When I opened iTunes, it popped up with the iTunes Radio icon and started going through my preferences and playlist.  Next thing you know, iTunes is stuck (frozen).  I did a control-alt-delete and closed iTunes that way.  This happened about 4 times before I thought, well, maybe I don't have the most recent version of iTunes, so I downloaded the latest.  After I did this, ALL OF MY PLAYLISTS DISAPPEARED.  A music teachers worst nightmare. Years of sorting music into categories and lesson!  UGH!!!  Some of the CD's I had imported also disappeared.  So I did what any person would do.  I poked around trying to find where they had gone, to no avail, then I started all over again rebuilding my playlists. Anyway, things were running normally until yesterday.  I opened iTunes in the morning and it ran fine.  In the afternoon when I opened it again, the same thing happened all over again.  What should I do.  Is there a way to retrieve the playlists?  Can I disable the iTunes Radio?  This cannot happen again!!  Help, friends who are smarter than I! I'm about ready to convert to Google Music.  (I know.... I said the name which shall not be spoken.... sorry.)

  • How can I transfer my iTunes library and playlists from one computer to another?

How can I transfer my iTunes library and playlists from one computer to another?

Copy the iTunes folder (Mac: Home\Music or PC: My Music) to the same location on the new computer. If an iTunes folder already exists on the new computer (it will on a Mac) replace it with one you copied.

  • The same itunes Library and playlists on the same computer with two systems

I want to have the same itunes library and playlists on the same computer with the two different Os 10.3.9 and 10.4.9 each one on the different disk. without copy this in the itunes folder (because my library its 30Gb)
I have the same user name on the Os. I use the same version of itunes in both systems
I use my ipod to play the library but its not the best solution (i lost my library in ipod twice because I confused from what os was synchronized)

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Amalgamate the two iTunes libraries. Then load iTunes and hold down the Option/Alt ⌥ key and then choose "Choose Library" and then point both copies of iTunes to use the combined iTunes library.
