ITunes transfers

I know similar questions have been asked before. But I'd like to try again with what I believe is a slight different variation (although I still expect the same "sorry, it can't be done" answer).
My wife has been using her gmail address for her iTunes Store ID.
Now, for various reasons, she'd like to start using here MobileMe (soon to be iCloud) address as her iTunes Store ID.
The problem is, after logging in to the iTunes Store with her MobileMe ID, all of her App Store (and music) purchases are listed as owned by the prior gmail account.
What we would like is to simply be able to say: delete the gmail Apple ID and transfer all that it owned to the MobileMe ID. Or even just do a wholesale transfer without deleting the old account. Is there any way to do something like this?
P.S. As a related aside, when syncing apps to iOS devices (and soon to iCloud) will having apps purchased under two different IDs (assuming that no transfer of the old apps is possible) cause any problems? Will apps from both IDs sync properly? Or what?

Yes it is, you can do it afew ways, you can even use ipod to do it. In iTUnes all the artwork is "Tied" to the musics ID3 tag so moving the music moved the artwork with it. If you have an iPod you can use this artical to move everything over using iPod http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300173

The iphone is not a storage/backup device.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.
Have you failed to do this?
If so, not good, then you can transfer itunes purchases:  File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You may be able to purchase a third partyn program to get the rest ( not supported by Apple)

  • ITunes transferring random pictures

    Hello all
    OSX:10.7.4
    iPhoto: 9.2.3
    iTunes: 10.6.1
    IOS: 5.1.1
This started to occur after I had used the funtion: cmd+option to rebuild iPhoto library. I had selected all of the options rebuild the iPhoto library.
Since then when iTunes transfers pictures to iPhone, it is transferring random pictures from random events. Within iTunes it is setup to transfer all Pictures.
I'm also seeing some pictures that was taken in portrait mode when transferring to iPhone it is being rotated to landscape mode however in iPhoto, it is portrait.
Also some Events in iPhoto no matter how many times I select to make it a key photo, when it transfers to iPhone, that photo is never set to key photo.

Go to Pictures folder under your profile then right click on iPhoto library > select show contents then delete the folder iPod Picture cache
    This resolved my issue.

How do I get CDs that have been imported into my iTunes library to sync/transfer to my iPhone?? All the material that I purchased from iTunes has transferred just fine, but although the CDs will import to iTunes, they will not sync up with my phone. How do I do this?? I am very frustrated and would greatly appreciate any help.

In what format did you import the cds?
I have never had an issue with this.

  • I am not able to transfer/backup the cd's I puchased in a physical store and uploaded to iTunes transfered to my new mac

I uploaded many cd's to my MacBook Pro years ago and since donated to the local thrift shop. I have a fairly new Mac Air now and am giving the 'pro' to my son. I have tried backing up the music in my iTunes library to an external drive and all that seems to have moved over are the purchased songs. Even a trip to our local mac shop did not help as it resulted in the same library transferred. How do I move this music? It shows correctly in  iTunes on the pro but does not seem to want to move off. Am I able to add it to my library on the Mac Air? Is it stored in another location than purchased songs on my old 'pro'?  Thanks for your help, lots of great music there I do not want to lose!!

Might need a third party utility.

  • ITunes transferred playlists grayed out and not working

OK so I've transferred my old iTunes files from the old computer to the new one. iTunes is now correctly displaying all of my playlists however they are grayed out and I can't access any of the songs. Anyone know why?

I found the answer here:  https://discussions.apple.com/message/15129510#15129510
"Is your computer authorized: Store>Authorize this Computer? Apps restricted in parental controls: iTunes>Preferences(under the edit menu if using Windows)>Parental? Restricted on your phone: Settings>General>Restrictions(are they on?)>Installing Apps>Off?"
Restrictions was on in my iPod.  As soon as I turned that off, every was good to go.

  • ITunes transfers from old comp to iphone to macbook

I have approx 2600 songs on my iPhone 4 and did not back up my old computer before it crashed (stupid me).  I had a lot imported from CD's to my old computer and then to my iPhone 4.  It seems only my purchased items have transferred to my MacBook.  Is there a way to transfer the rest from my iPhone to my MacBook?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You may be able to purchase a 3rd party program to do this -  not supported by Apple.
The iphone is not a storage/backup device.  The sync is one way - computer to iphone.  The exception is itunes purchases

    Hi Everyone:
I am a first time blackberry user.  I was able to switch my itunes playlist onto the blackberry but when it goes to play I get "an error has occurred attemping to play media "Track 16""  It goes through the whole playlist with these error boxes popping up.  Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Files controlled by Digital Rights Management (DRM) technologies cannot be transferred to the BlackBerry smartphone. iTunes offers DRM-free Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) format downloads through the iTunes Plus store.

    please help

When you go straight to the "thanks for downloading" page, it usually means a pop-up blocker is blocking the pop-up that asks you to SAVE or RUN the download.
Temporarily turn off the PC's pop-up blockers. The built-in pop-up blocker settings in Internet Explorer are in Internet Options under the Privacy tab. If you have other pop-up blockers from Norton or McAfee, turn them off, too.

  • Itunes transferring issues

I have a freshly restored iPod touch 5G 64 GB, with iOS 7.0.4 and iTunes 11.1.3 (latest version). Whenever I try to transfer manually, or to sync, or to autofill the music library on the device, it starts transferring music, but only some songs actually show up in the Music app and the rest goes to the "Other" bar. I have a fairly large library, about 47 GB, and I used to be able to transfer it manually in a single shot. It appears like it has issues with database creation on the device. Did this happen to someone else? Anyone with a fix?

When they turn into other that typically indicates that they became corrupted.
    Try:
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Restore from backup. See:

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Help with itunes transfers and installation, please!!

    Hi All,
I am currently using my laptop for running itunes. I want to transfer my itunes to my netbook (Samsung NC10). I have already created a DVD backup of my library.
The way I want my netbook set up is to have the programme files on the C: drive and my data on the D: drive. I have already installed itunes to the netbook, but have not transferred my library over. My questions are:
What do I do to obtain the setup as described above? I would like to have itunes recognise my library each time I open itunes without having to select a source as it were. Once configured, do I just stick in the backup DVDs into my external drive for copying the tracks over?
Also, once the above configuration is made, can I assume that all purchases from the iTunes store will be made to the D: drive and not C: drive? If not, how am I able to achieve this.
Many thanks in advance for your help
    Nafees

    Thanks for your reply Jim.
OK I thought I had backed them up on icloud, maybe this was not the case and had I known obviously I would of subscribed to match before changing laptops. I did back up my itunes on an external hard drive, however I later discovered that I had not done this correctly.
I realise that I have lost my entire music collection and I am devasted about this, I posted on here to see if there was any hope!  - being patronised isn't particuarly helpful.
I don't have my CD's as I gave them all away once ripped.

  • When doing Transfer Purchases from an iDevice, iTunes transfers podcasts

When I connect my iPhone, iPod touch or iPad to my Mac and choose Transfer Purchases, I expect iTunes to copy all of the songs, videos and apps from the iDevice to iTunes. It does that but it also transfers podcasts I've downloaded on the iDevice, which is annoying. I always then have to delete the podcast from iTunes and from the iDevice. Is there some way to exclude podcasts from the Transfer Purchases function?

okay, should have serched a little more..  all I had to do was CTRL + b in my library to view the file menu, and under File -> Devices -> transfer purchases
    Please ignore this question!

  • Itunes transferred wrong songs to iphone

I just upgrade my iphone 4 with the latest software along with the latest version of itunes. I removed all my music and synched to albums that I had checked off the list. Nothing else in any other category was checked off. Yet, on my phone are songs that shouldn't be there. They're part of my library but nowhere did I check them off to be put on my iphone. Any answers.

    Hi sawpaw,
One of the new features of iOS 7 is the ability to show all of your purchases in your Music Library.
Click on the link below to see page 62 of the iPhone User Guide for iOS 7

  • How do I get my iTunes transfered to a new hard drive?

I used iTunes on my C drive and stored the music on an external hard drive. My C drive crashed, but I am able to access all of the data. I also had iTunes on another computer I use and will now be my main computer. This "new" computer had its own music, a few of my favorite CD's, but I never synched an iPod to this system. I can still access the external drive that had the music. The only thing missing is the last album I downloaded from Amazon. (That music lives on the old C drive that crashed but is still accessible)
I want to 1) consolidate the music from these two sources on the external drive; 2) have the new iTunes recognize the place where the music is 3) get my playlists back; 3) get everything in one place for my system to backup; 4) entertain any other suggestions regarding my iTunes setup and how best to avert this situation in the future.
I have about 40G of music, pictures, and music videos. I don't want to leave any of the pieces out of my next iPod synch.

Open itunes by pressing *and holding* the shift key. Choose the ITL from the old hard drive when prompted.
Consolidate the library from the old hard drive onto the new PC. Make sure the copy files option is turned on in itunes preferences, so they get copied to the new PC. I assume you want that.
Then get that updated ITL file from the old PC and put it on your new PC. DO the shift-start for iTunes again, but pick the ITL file on your new PC.
You'll have to add the new PC's content back into the itunes library. You might want to turn copy files back off before doing that.

  • Itunes transferring music to other computer?

    OK.
I have a PC running Vista, and have an Itunes library(a gig or so)and my dad has a Mac. How can I transfer my library to his computer, without using 4 USB sticks?
    Please help me ASAP,
    SHIV

The iPod Touch _does not_ support disk use. Other iPods (nano, classic) do, so you could use one of those. Or, burn a DVD. Or, get a bigger USB stick (I have some 4 GB ones; 2 GB sticks are ~£15).
