ITunes trying to take more money?

I bought some apps without knowing there wasn't any money in my bank I found out when I couldn't use the app store so I went to the bank and deposited the money (20.48) then apple immediately took my money and I thought "okay, I can use the app store" so i went and entered my billing info and then it tried charging me twice! Now the second charge was taken off my bank transactions but I still can't use the app store so I'm wondering if I enter my billing info will I be charged a third time? Has anyone had this problem? Can anyone help me out?

Ok, just had my buddy test his iPad2 on Deutsche Telekom (bought same time i purchased my verizon ipad2), and his does in fact utilize WiFi if it is connected, rather than the cellular network.
I wonder what AT&T's model does. 
just another example of the control that Verizon forces on all manufactures (Steve Jobs or not).  Apple would have no problem with the carrier configuring the devices this way, to ensure more revenue for the carrier.  doesn't hurt Apple at all, and appears to be something they are giving up to the carrier.  LAME!!!

Have you checked the purchase history on your account (Store > View My Account on yoru computer's iTunes), and have you (or anyone who access to your devices) made in-app purchases in apps and/or have you taken out any subscriptions in apps ?   • ITunes 10 startup takes more than 5 minutes.....

    After updating to iTunes 10 I discovered that starting iTunes takes about 5 to 8 minutes...(spinning beachball)

    And don't tell me I am the only one with this situation...there are hundreds of thousands of Syno-Nas's sold in NL...THE PERFORMANCE OF iTunes has ALWAYS been a *****, but now it's really become STOOPID!!!!!!!!!! (start and wait for 8 minutes before you can do anything....with version 9 it was too long (40 seconds+) but now it's RIDICULOUS !!!!!!!!)

    I don't typically see a response from Apple in most of the threads I post in / have started in the past. Expecting some magical solution right out of the gate is illogical and just your frustration talking.
    For what it's worth, I don't think it's your brand of NAS devices that's causing the issue. I have a QNAP TS-639 and also experience heavy beach balling whenever I open iTunes or add something to it's Library, at this point I'm suspecting a SAMBA issue, which is sad because those are much harder to fix. They'd have to approve a samba fix/update for all macs, not just yours.
    Do the synology NAS devices support AFP? Have you tried connecting with that instead?
    EDIT: I actually just took my own advice and switched that share over to AFP. Relaunched iTunes and no beachballing, we'll see how it goes.

    Searching just on the category in the iTunes Store is most unlikely to throw up your podcast. There are thousands of podcasts out there, and it would be quite impossible to display on one page the entire list for any category. What you see are 'featured' podcasts, chosen by Apple as being special; please see this Tech Note:

    As with many other merchants, the iTunes Store and Mac App Store places an authorization hold on your payment card account for the approximate amount of any purchase you make.   • Itunes interferes with my other music programs. Tries to take over so I won't use itunes. Any solution.

    I prefer Windows Media Player to rip and sync. Every time I try to do something with Windows MP, iTunes pops up and interupts my process. I had to uninstall iTunes due to this. Is there a solution so I can have both programs without iTunes trying to take over?  iTunes couldn't sync my CD's to my MP3 player so I can't use it for that.

    Sounded like a good solution; however, I have been unable to re-download iTunes. I get the message "Installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured." Tried three times. It had successfully installed before. Perhaps it won't install if you don't choose it to be default?

    If I am ALREADY paying for an UNLIMITED access plan, why are they trying to extort more money from me?? Does it REALLY matter what device the data is being transferred to (Incredible/laptop)?? I guess UNLIMITED really DOES have it's LIMITS....  Is there a crrier that provides for this service free of charge or INCLUDES IT in their UNLIMITED plan?!?!?!?

    T-Mobile doesn't allow tethering it's within the ToS you sign when you go with them.  Carriers in Europe also charges for tethering.  You want to add more devices to use up bandwidth you gotta pay for it.  Internet bandwidth isn't free, but the content is.
    Virgin Mobile: This is what you have to add to your mobile web plan if you want to tether.  This does not include mobile web for your mobile device. You can tether with your devices just like T-Mobile, but if you get caught THEY have the right to terminate your contract or service and charge you the ETF.

    Most carriers will give you unlimited, but if you hit a certain point they'll throttle you down, but you still can use the internet.  To even use 5G's a month is very hard to do unless you stream a lot of content.

    If the film is more than 15 pounds, then it has to take the remainder from your cc.

  • Billing - iTunes doesn't try and take the money from my a/c. It takes me to the generic support home page instead.

    I had a problem with my bank account going overdrawn a few weeks ago (caused by a 3rd party taking money from my a/c and putting it overdrawn). An amount of $1.06 is showing as owed on my iTunes billing. There is money in my bank account now. When I try to download an update or a free app I get redirected to update my billing info. My debit card is the same number as before, the only difference is there is money in the acccout now. For some reason when I update my billing info using the same card number instead of Apple trying to take the $1.06 out of my account it directs me to the iTunes support home page which shows all the differnt countries flags.
    From what I can see there are no answers to my specific problem in the forums and as far as I know Apple doesn't offer a human being to talk with to get it sorted.
    Does anybody have any ideas how I could resolve this? I'm very frustrated with it that's for sure.

    But as far as I know debit cards are no longer accepted as a valid payment method - they are not listed on this page and there have been a number of posts recently about them being declined

    Is there any message from iTunes?

    Do you have error correction turned on?  (iTunes preferences - General - Import settings.)  If so, it will take much longer to copy audio CD's.

I followed the instructions, with patience I thought I lost, submitted my problem, someone emailed me back within two days and all is now perfect. Thanks again Apple.

  • I'm trying to give BT more money, but the "system"...

    I'm losing my mind here.
    I have recently became aware of BT's decision to remove usage restrictions during peak hours for certain types of traffic (e.g. Peer to peer). As an existing Infinity customer ("BT Infinity Option 2") I would like to get rid of these usage restrictions as they're the only part of my current service that I find frustrating.
    So my plan, as a (once) happy BT customer, was to recontract to "Unlimited BT Infinity 2" and by doing so extend my stay with BT by at least 6 months (my current contract expires in April).
    This is where the fun starts...
    My first attempt to upgrade was through the website. It was on MyBT that I discovered the newer packages and attempted to upgrade immediately, however towards the end of the process the website gave me an error message of 'service unavailable'. 
    I assumed the website was broken and so rang the customer options team, who promptly informed me that I was on the best possible package and it was completely unlimited. As I hadn't tested any P2P applications since finding out about the change in usage restrictions (I didn't realise at the time that they had been introduced in February) I gave them the benefit of the doubt. 
    Unsurprisingly, the next time I tried to use a P2P based application during peak hours the throttling was still evident. After doing more research on the subject it was clear that my current package would still have the same usage restrictions it had always had and that I clearly needed to upgrade. Armed with more specific product names, I tried to ring BT again...
    This time I resisted the "But you're already on the best package" speech and tried to explain the difference between a download limit and traffic shaping - by the way, I find it annoying that not one of the sales team (all of whom work for a major internet service provider) I spoke to seemed to understand the difference. Eventually I was transferred to the technical department, which was useful in this case as I could check once and for all if the usage restriction was still active on my line, 30 minutes of language-barrier-awkwardness later we decided it clearly was. At this point, the lady informed me that she had put notes on my account and that I was to contact the options team the following day for further advice.
    I did just that. After explaining the difference between download/traffic restrictions the sales advisor, after consultation with his manager, informed me that I would be unable to recontract until my current contract expired. This didn't make any sense to me and I proceeded to send a complaint email to BT asking why they were so against me giving the company more money and to get in contact with me to resolve the issue.
    They contacted me today. And, as you can probably tell by the tone and length of this rant, they didn't resolve the issue. After the usual back and forth about download vs traffic restrictions the lady informed me in no uncertain terms that there was nothing they could do as the system would simply not allow me to get Unlimited BT Infinity 2. This seems bizarre to me as all the availability checks I have run clearly list the following:
    - BT Infinity 1
    - Unlimited BT Infinity 1
    - Unlimited BT Infinity 2
    The "system" at BT clearly has the final word. I find it very difficult, however, to believe that the reason I cannot get the service is because it is not available in my area. Removing P2P restrictions doesn't seem like it would require any major hardware changes so I believe that the "system" is simply blocking my ability to get rid of the P2P restriction as I am an existing customer.
    If it is available for new customers in my area, then it is an insult to us all that BT can put the following on their website:
    Some Internet service providers put restrictions on certain types of Internet traffic or limit how much you can download or upload which means at peak times of day, customers may experience slower speeds.
    We don't think that's a good enough experience for BT customers so we have made all of our unlimited products 'Totally Unlimited'.
    Does anybody know if there is any truth to the 'unavailable' story? Is the availability checker on the BT website broken? Has anyone had similar issues trying to recontract? Is Sky broadband any good...?

    It could be as simple as longer (larger) videos - iPhoto does not always handle larger video files well

    iPhoto is not a download and view program - it is a photo management database program that imports photos - Image Capture is a download program - Preview is a view program
