Itunes TV show size?

I've read the FAQ concering the size of TV shows and such, but I recently downloaded the first episode of Prison Break, and much to my dismay it was 500 mb. Now, I know the FAQ said that they were only 200 mb, but are all of these episodes gonna be 500 mb? And, when I get my video ipod (30 gig) for christmas am I gonna be able to upload my videos to my ipod, delete them from my computer and still be able to pull them back up to watch them on the computer?

Couldn't find info about TV shows but we don't get them in the UK yet. The info must be there somewhere.

If you want room on your computer the best option is to back them up to CD or DVD - what would happen if you lost your iPod?

If you update using iTunes, the full iOS is downloaded. If you update directly on your phone, this is called a "Delta" update, & only the changes to the iOS are downloaded. That's why you see the difference you see.

Why doesn't iTunes 11 show the playlist file size?

Why does my iTunes library show up to be different sizes?

I have about 2600 songs in my iTunes library. At the bottom of the iTunes library window, it says there are 2600 songs, 13.03gb. All of these songs fit on my 16gb iTouch.
Now, when i go to finder>Music>iTunes>iTunes Music the folder is 114gb!
WHY IS THIS SOOOO MUCH LARGER?
It's the same contents that are in my iTunes library!

Selecting Music in iTunes will show only your music.
Selecting Music>iTunes>iTunes Music in the Finder shows everything in iTunes including music, movies, audiobooks, podcasts,TV Shows, etc.
Go to Music>iTunes>iTunes Music>Music and this is only the music files.

1-2 hr. Load time for previously purchased iTunes TV shows

I just bought my Apple Tv and it is taking 1-2 hrs. to load my TV episodes that have already been purchased and downloaded to my iTunes library. Why? It doesn't have any trouble loading my Netflix movies, just the iTunes TV shows. I have already decreased the resolution down to SD. Netflix movies are Finished loading and play within a minute or two max but the iTunes videos take forever! Please help.

Netflix is a rate adaptive stream and adjusts to the prevailing internet connection speed. It always looks pretty good to me.
AppleTV 'streams' however are fixed size so if you're playing from the cloud and you do not have adequate internet bandwidth to stream 'realtime', a degree of buffering takes place to supposedly ensure things will play through without interruption. If you use AppleTV for something else while waiting it has to restart the bufferings.
As a guide SD needs 2.5Mbps for 'near instant playback', 720p HD 6 Mbps and 8 Mbps for 1080p.

You will find that Movies and TV Shows being moved to your itunes will free up the largest amount of space. External drive storage & iTunes still shows up on PC hard drive @##$^&!!!!

I am sure someone has already encountered this and solved the problem, so please point me in the correct direction. I have a laptop with a 40G internal HD, an external 180G HD and a 60G iPod. You can see I want/need/have to have iTunes (the library) reside on the external HD _ONLY_ if I want to fill up my iPod. I loaded iTunes on the external (repeatedly) and moved it from the laptop internal only to have it reappear in my laptop everytime I access iTunes to download or anything else. I once deleted iTunes directly from the laptop and I had to re-load my library from my iPod (a painful process).
So, how do I keep iTunes from showing up on my laptop (the library) and eating up my HD space there?

You don't install iTunes on the external.
You put the library and music on the external.
To move your iTunes music...
1 - Quit iTunes.
2 - Move the entire iTunes folder including music to the external drive.
Click on the iTunes icon to start it, then immediately press an hold the Shift key in Windows, Option key in Mac.
3 - iTunes will ask to *Create new library* or *Choose existing library*. Select *Choose existing library* and select the library in the folder you just moved.
4 - Move the old iTunes folder to the trash but do not empty it.
5 - Restart iTunes normally and verify the songs work. If they do, empty the trash.
Note that the external must be connected, powered up and online BEFORE you start iTunes.

I'm also having the same problem, when before I hadn't. I've been trying to research this issue too w/ little success. All of a sudden I realized that not all my songs were playing and red squares w/ red circles appeared next to a bunch of music on my playlist. So I tried to delete my playlist & re-sync but I couldn't get alot of my songs back onto my iphone 4. I believe we're being forced into subscribing to the itunes Match where it stores all your music (purchased & uploaded) on the cloud. Hoping I'm wrong.

From the requirements point of view, you can happily move to iOS 6. From the user tranquility pov, it's a crapshoot. Remember that MILLIONS of iDevices have been sold, a couple of those just this past Xmas season and hence all with iOS 6 preinstalled. "Many complain in the forums" is a number that ranges in the 10's or 100's: i.e., a minuscule amount of the total devices out there. And. of course, nobody comes here to gush excitedly about how well his iGadget works; everybody here (save those of us regular users who attempt to help, we're not Apple employees) has a gripe, grumble or complaint.
I can tell you from personal experience that my i5 with iOS 6.1.4 works as desired. All my colleagues' iPhones with iOS 6 work as expected. And we have a particularly flaky Wi-Fi environment thanks to our less than stellar netadmins.
But in the end, it is entirely up to you. Will you bite the bullet, or wait some more? Check the new stuff that came with iOS 6 and decide whether or not to risk it.

ITunes not showing songs that are on the iPod Touch

I have an iPod Touch 4th Generation.
I use iTunes 11.0.
I usually connect my iPod Touch to iTunes and play songs from there because I do not put songs in my itunes library.
I was doing this as usual and today when I connected my iPod Touch to iTunes, songs did not show up on the music tab of "On This iPod".
Just the previous day, I opened iTunes and there were all my songs.
Today, iTunes does not show any of my downloaded songs that were not bought from the iTunes Store.
The iTunes Capacity Bar shows that I have songs on my iPod Touch.
But when clicking on the iPod and going under the music tab in "On This iPod", there is no music other than a few songs, which were purchased from the iTunes Store itself.
I also tried third party software just today to check if I can get the songs off my iPod.
I tried using SharePod and it did not detect any songs, not even the purchased songs from iTunes.
There are songs on the iPod Touch only. I can play all the songs from the iPod Touch just fine.
They are simply just not showing up on iTunes.
How do I get iTunes to show the songs on my iPod Touch? The capacity bar says there are songs.
I tried SharePod a few times long before this happened, and it showed the songs on the iPod Touch.
I don't understand why all of a sudden the songs all disappeared from iTunes itself only.
(I would say this is similar to other issues where iTunes DOES show songs while the iPod itself DOES NOT. Mine is the opposite.)

I tried backing up the iPod Touch.
Now all the songs on the iPod Touch (except for the purchased ones) are turned to blank names and are skipped.
There is no name for each song or artwork, they all are called 'unknown'.
Only the purchased songs are left unharmed. Everything else is corrupted now.

This means that the phone you have was software unlocked to use on any carrier, or hacked. When you installed the update it restored the lock that originaly came with your phone. Not much you can do now. Apple will not support hacked phones. You will need to find out the carrier your phone is locked to and see if they offer official unlocking, or start googling to see if you can find a way to unlock 4.2.

hours after the first post i somehow got this to work. dont know how, but i do tried the dns clear cache, the clear host file, oh and i did the check automatically detech dns AND THEN se-check it again before i got this to work.

IPod touch 4th generation will not sync with iTunes, but shows up in Windows 7 64bit(Acer Aspire laptop)

Hello all, I am writing this message in the hope that somebody can help me to solve my issue with my iPod touch fourth generation. It has been unable to sync with iTunes, but shows up in windows as the iPod touch. I also had this problem with my older iPods as well (Ipod nano 4th Gen, iPod touch 2nd gen(Batteries done for that one)) I can sync music with iCloud, but I have a bunch of songs that are not in the store, and I sincerely want to add those, alot.
I've checked the "iPod appears in Windows but not in iTunes" with the link here: (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1363), and followed that process, but to no avail, it does not solve the problem. I've tried to reset the entire ipod by making it enter DFU mode and then rebooting the entire iPod (shows up in iTunes in temporary mode) but once restored, does not appear in iTunes, but still in Windows detected still as a iPod, looks like the iPod and everything. I also have the most uup-to-date iTunes installed (10.5 I believe, just got it today)
This is extremely frustrating because that is why I purchased the iPod (and for the games and apps, those are great too). The iPod was also purchased three days ago, and the setup still didn't detect it. I am not mad at anybody here or the Apple company itself, but I have not found any help online with the browsing option (for support of course).
Please, I would absolutely love the help, i'd be eternally grateful for it.

Never mind, turns out that by uninstalling the programs "Megakey" and "Megaupload" it had resolved this issue.

I tired copying all the .dll files to the itunes folder didn't help

I cannot address the sync services error right now, but the error that you receive when you change from sync to manually manage music is what happens when you change. Once you change to manually manage music, it erases all of the music and will only put the music that you want on the phone, content that you manually drag over to it.
