ITunes tv shows just won't run

I just downloaded two tv shows from iTunes. I have the latest OS 7.4.9, the latest iTunes, the latest Quicktime player. My problem is when I try to playback using quicktime player the audio is fine but the video is choppy. I have done all these upgrades just to be able to watch tv shows. What am I doing wrong?

How do the previews (Apple Sore) in iTune for those shows play on your computer?...
But then again your computer not up to speed to play Quicktime h.264.

Downloaded Itunes setup and it won't run

I downloaded the newest version of itunes. The setup wizard won't work when i try to install it. It doesn't say there is an error just absolutely nothing happens. I don't understand what is going on can someone help.

let's first check to se what version of the Windows Installer you have on the PC.
the easiest way to check is probably to go into your Add/Remove programs (don't uninstall anything), and check to see if there is a showing up next to your Windows Installer entry.
if "(KB893803)" isn't there, try upgrading to Windows Installer 3.1v2. see:

Why won't the latest version of iTunes run? I've downloaded it twice. Come to that, why isn't iTunes an option in the product list on this site? Apple did make that, didn't they?

I'm using a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.6.7. I've just updated iTunes to the latest version 10.2.2 but it keeps quitting unexpectedly upon opening it. I've tried deleting the Genius information, reinstalling it, as well as even reinstalling the latest Snow Leopard update but nothing seems to work. What can I do?

Hi, I recently got a laptop, (from my dad, its his old one). It runs XP fine, and is a fairly fast PC.
I tried installing iTunes, and after installation it would not open. It acts as though its opening, and the process appears in the task manager (ituneshelper and ipodservice).
I got worried, and messed around with it for a day.
After discovering nothing would work, I tried installing iTunes 6. This version runs fine, and I would just use that, but it has connection issues when I try to log on in the store, so I can't even buy anything.
Please help me figure this out!

Also, I'm sure its probably related, Windows live messenger, and Windows messenger both have connection problems saying the service is down when I try to log on, so I have to use the webmessenger.
good catch. okay, that, in conjunction with your iTunes symptoms, is suggesting a problem with digital signing of some drivers on your PC. try the "Resolution" section from the following document:
Detecting digital signing issues in Windows XP
... if itunes and live messenger and messenger all start working again, strongly consider doing a thorough antivirus scan on the PC. (the dlls can be deregistered initially by malware.) a good place to start with that would be with one of the reputable "online" virus checks, like TrendMicro's HouseCall or Symantec's online virus check. here's a link through to the Symantec check. (apologies in advance but it takes an eternity to complete.)

Installing update to iTunes failed. Now won't run.

I just tried to install a newer update to iTunes and received this error message. "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 1114). I also get the following error: "Runtime Error! Program C:/Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes exe R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the application's support team for more information."
Trying to reinstall just results in same error messages. This is on a PC running Windows 7.
Any suggestions on what I need to do to fix this?

I'm getting the same error after doing a recent iTunes update (yesterday). I'm also running WIndows 7. Per suggestion from an earlier post I uninstalled iTunes and tried to reinstall but that also failed - I'm getting the message "Apple Mobile Device failed to start - Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services". I tried both ignoring & retry. Neither works. Now I have no iTunes at all.

Latest iTunes app on Win7 won't run

Greetings! A few days ago I installed the latest iTunes on my Win7 PC which I upgraded to in March of this year. I have several hundred dollars invested in iTunes music downloads which are now worthless. I am NOT happy.
I have been all over the 'net looking for answers with no luck. I've tried everything.
I'm an IT professional, so I don't THINK I'm doing anything dumb.
I was going to contact Apple support but my iPods...several of them...are too old for free support. They want $19 just to open a support case. I balked at that!
Has anyone else has issues like this?

Burwood...I really appreciate your help with this but I'm still getting nowhere. I've gone through all the steps again...this time including installing QuickTime (I usually don't update that) and the iCloud thing...whatever that is. Still no luck and still nothing of consequence in the Windoze event logs.
The only thing I find curious is that it always wants to install in the x86 programs directory. I have no idea if that is imporantant or not.
I'm not a newbie...been an IT professional for 25 years but mostly as a Unix admin.
This is killing me!

KT6 Delta 2400 just won't run full speed

All, I recently built my first system (see signature) and was absolutely delighted when it fired up first time at the default 100FSB. With help from this forum I established I needed to change the FSB setting to 133 and sure enought the 2400 processor was then correctly noticed and everything ran faster. The problem is it just isn't stable at that speed. It'll run for an hour or so from a cold start and then freeze the screen requiring a hard reboot. Once the system's warm the stable time is much shorter than an hour
I have read hundreds of posts but as none of them exactly matches the problem I hope you guys can help. BAS and other suggest this is a PSU or a cooling issue and I need to know what to tackle. The CPU is not reaching over 55C according to Corecell though I'm surpised the system temperature can get as high as 50C too with the case open?! Is this a problem?
The '350W' PSU is borderline from everything I've read here. It came in a budget case and has the following AMP ratings 3.3V 22A +5V 32A +12V 16A
I believe I do need a new PSU but don't want to waste money if that's not the issue. Any advice would be very much appreciated. If anyone has a similar system and can recommend a PSU that would be great.

Hi all, well I'm can now update you on the progress so far. Having read all your helpful comments I took the plunge and bought an Enermax EG365 PSU. I rigged it all up yesterday and both my CPU and system temps are lower as a result. I changed the FSB back up to 133 (from 100) again and the system did seem more stable, UNTIL it froze again! It'll freeze understandably when running something CPU intensive, gaming for example or even installing new drivers - normal office tasks are now stable.
The CPU is topping at 53C and the system temp is now down to mid thirties. What else could this be? RAM perhaps? I've heard memtest86 discussed. Is this worth trying? Or should I just borrow some memory stick from a friend? I did think the graphic card could be the problem but as it can freeze with no 3d running I'm not sure.
Whilst the PSU hasn't solved it I'm glad I paid up anyway - the new one smells nice too

JAR files just won´t run, multiple systems, JRE & JDK installed.

I´ve been looking on many different places for an answer for this issue:
I have to run different JAR files for applications, one is from Apache ActiveMQ, and the other is a hash calculating app. I´ve read on many topics that if you get error "Failed to load Main-Class" when running a JAR, the problem is how the JAR was packed (MANIFEST). Well, I find highly unlikely that two different JARs, from different sources, are wrongly packed. Also, I´ve installed JRE, JDK and even Java EE, on MS Server 2003 and on Windows 7 (on this last one only JRE), and no JAR runs. I´ve tried declaring PATH and JAVA_HOME environment variables... no use. Can anyone help me solve my problem?

You might want to look in your control panel for 'Java' icon. It should give you an option to enable java plugin into your browser. Let me know if you still face the issue.

When I go to a website that requires Java, i get an error. I have uninstalled & reinstalled java several times with no improvement. Java is allowed on my Firefox & IE7 browsers Firefox is my default). Can anyone please help me?

ITunes 7 won't run after reinstalled XP MediaCenter & reinstall iTunes7

We made backup copies of the iTunes folder on an external HD, then reinstalled WinXp MediaCenter (not full clean install) and moved iTunes files back from the external HD, then reinstalled new iTunes 7; however, it won't run now. When we click on the icon, it just says "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close, we are sorry for the inconvenience. If you are in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost. Please tell Microsoft about this problem. We have created an error report that you can send to us." We've tried reinstalling iTunes many times. We've turned Antivirus & Wndows firewall off and on when installing, but no difference.
Anyone got any suggestions because my wife and 2 teenagers are lost without their iTunes and iPods.

Someone in a different forum said to be sure that iTunes is installed under the primary user with Administrator Privileges. I'm pretty sure I did that, but I'll try it again to see what happens.
