ITunes TV Shows to DVD for TV?
Is there anyway to burn my purchased iTunes DVD tv shows to a DVD to be viewed on my TV, through its DVD player? It doesnt seem right of the company to limit me to watching the program which I purchased from them to just on my computer. I downloaded the season of my favorite TV show, because I thought I could put them on a DVD to be viewed on my personal DVD player on my TV in my living room. Not only does it have a comfortable area to sit with the family, and a larger screen, it has a better sound system. This is not right to limit us to just our computer or iPod. No where did I see a disclaimer stating that I could not put the files onto a DVD to be viewed on my personal DVD player. So Apple/iTunes, please let me know how - or refund me?
I have to agree with TodayBledFate. When i first came to itunes, there wasn't much of a TV selection, if any at all. I was there for the music. I am a big TV watcher and when I saw the shows they were adding, i decided to download some of the kid programs. I did not think to go back and read the rules and terms i had agreed to long before this. I just figured i could burn the TV shows to watch with my daughter, and yes it is hard to get comfortable at a desk in front of a computer monitor. When you go to download a TV show, something should pop up and warn you that you cannot copy them to DVD. I am a little disappointed with the service. The shows take up a lot of space on my harddrive, and my computer runs slightly slower. Since I can't burn them and free up some space, I now have to delete them and waste my money.

Error 9006 when restoring your iOS device indicates that there is security software on your computer which is preventing connection to the Apple server or your device. To troubleshoot this issue please follow the directions below.

Pause Backup of itunes library, too many DVDs for one sitting?
The backup of my itunes library will take 8 DVDs. Is there a way to pause it, so that I don't have to do it in one sitting? Or choose to do a partial backup now, and then continue later? What would happen if I only had time to do 2 DVDs today, could I come back later and continue, or would I have to start all over again?

Is using iTunes to backup better? I have not seen a feature in Backup to choose to backup portions of my library, but you are saying that backing up in iTunes, has this feature?

Does anyone know if you can burn your iTunes shows/videos to DVD?
You can burn the purchased videos and TV shows to a data DVD (change your settings in the Preferences->Advanced->Burning).
You can't burn them to a DVD to be played on a TV.

Itunes shows multiple listings for the same files (songs), help ???
dunno why, but Itunes is showing mulitple listing for my file (songs), is there a way to clean this up instead of going through the list one by one to get rid of the extra listing...?? thank you in advance...
It looks like you have duplicate entries in the library (two entries pointing to the same song file), but you could also have duplicate files.
Add the 'Date Added' column to the library (View Options, Command-J) and sort on 'Date Added'.
If many songs show the same recent 'Date Added' and you didn't actually add them that day, those ones obviously are the duplicates.
Compare a few of those entries with their duplicate ones.
Do they point to the same file? If so, delete the last added ones, but choose 'Keep Files'.
If they point to different files, delete the last added ones and choose 'Move to Trash'
If the above does not help, you might find a useful script at www.dougscripts.com/itunes
Search for "duplicate" to find the appropriate scripts.
You will still have to remove the entries manually though.

ITunes showing updates available for the account of a visitor
All my apps are up to date. Some time ago a visitor signed into iTunes on my iMac, bought some tracks and apps etc, then signed out. iTunes keeps showing the updates for those apps even though the visitor is long gone. How do I erase the update notification? I don't have their account name or password. Thanks in advance.

If I buy a tv series like Ugly Betty which is not yet out on DVD in uk, can I transfer it to DVD? If so does anyone know the file size of average episode so I know if room on mac/to back up to dvd?

I've checked this out for you, I bought the series of Ugly Betty (each episode averages out at 500 mb )
Bizarrely, iTunes won't let you burn the episodes to disk - you get a message that this kind of file is not supported, or something like that. You can, however, make a burn folder in the finder and do it that way.
Strange that iTunes won't let you backup your purchases to disk when the finder will.

PLEASE HELP ME.This means that the phone you have was software unlocked to use on any carrier, or hacked. When you installed the update it restored the lock that originaly came with your phone. Not much you can do now. Apple will not support hacked phones. You will need to find out the carrier your phone is locked to and see if they offer official unlocking, or start googling to see if you can find a way to unlock 4.2.

ITunes TV Show Season Pass Issues - How is it working for you?
I love iTunes Season passes. I love letting a show accumulate without worrying about storms, sports messing up recording times, power outages, storage of my DVR, etc... The shows are always going to be there to watch. However for well over a year ago Apple removed the new TV Show episodes from coming via the Check Available Downloads option. Since then we have had a plethera of options presented to us. However I continue to have mixed results. I have tried using my Apple Care to get support. But since its more like a cloud or iTunes issue, they send me to the web which is nothing but email support. Email support suggests these 4 methods. 3 out of the 4 rarely work for me in a reliable or timely way. I am looking for those who have the same issues/challenges and understand if you have found a better way or even a root cause why I am getting these results.
First method is using the email notifications you can turn on when you manage your season pases via iTunes Account inside the iTunes application. You click the email link, it launches Safari, Safari launches iTunes, in a few seconds you get a "Cancel" or "Download" pop up in iTunes. You click download and it will download the show. You must repeat this for each email notification/show... daily. It can be hap hazard as the notifications sometimes come at 2am and others throughout the next day.
Second method is going to iTunes store in iTunes, click on TV Shows, Click on Purchased... and there you can select "not on this computer" to see what episodes are new and not downloaded yet. This is actually fairly straight forward and easier than the email links. However I am having an issue where even though I have the notification, the show does not show up in my purchases. If I switch over to "shows" vs "seasons" I see the episodes from all my email notifications. But generally only the behind the scense have the icloud download icon. (see attached screen shot) The work around is to go to the TV show page itself for that season, scroll and use the download button there for each new epiosde you have not downloaded. This is probably now less optimal than the email.
Third method is to enable "show iTunes in the Cloud purchases" via iTunes Preferences. I dread it evertime its suggested I try this. When I enable this option, all shows and movies marked as "unwatched" get marked as "watched." Right now, I have a large number of episodes unwatched right now. So it would be ALOT to clean up to try it again. When I have used this, its by far the easiest to use (besides the former retired "check for available downloads" option. You just go to your TV Shows in your library, unwatched tab, and just click the download icons. You dont even have to leave your library. However there seems to be a bug. I suspect it has something to do with my machine sleeping and the internet connection dropping and not re-establishing before iTunes is trying to reconnect. The end result is the iTunes in the cloud preference disappears or gets completely reset.... and it totally messes with your unwatched and watched shows. I have showed it to an Apple Care rep as they were connected to my machine. They couldnt believe it. So I would REALLY love to know if anyone has tried this method recently and NOT had these issues. Its a good hour of work if it does not work cleaning up the after math. So feedback would be welcome.
Fourth option is instead of downloading, stream it. This is not my preferred method because I sometimes will rewatch an episode multipe times due to distractions from work, shool, or re-watching it later with a friend to catch them up. Once I have it downloaded, the critial path is limited to my home network. However I never really have issues with long buffering and streaming because I have a 50mps up/downlink internet. The issue I am running into this method is sometimes the newest episode is not showing up in AppleTV > TV Shows > Purchases > Recent for that TV Show and Season. It will eventually make it there... but I am not sure what the secret sauce is for it to become available.
I am doing my best to keep this to a civil request for feedback from fellow users and fans of the TV Show Season Passes. I would even welcome an Apple response. I am currently trying to get iTunes support to look into these again. But I keep getting looped into one of the four options with each email exchange.... even though I have already explain, provided screen shots, etc... Its sort of exhausting when you are stuck with email as your only path to explain and help. Especially when you spent the money on Apple Care. Perhaps I need to just make an apppointment at my Apple store so I can SHOW them what happens. But that is a pain to lug in a 27" iMac and a 6TB thunderbolt drive. FEEDBACK welcome!Hi,
I'm having the same problem on Windows and Mac, neither automatically download episodes from any of my season passes, nor do they find it when I select "Check for available downloads," it informs me all episodes have been downloaded for my Apple ID, which in fact they have not.
I have to find the episode in my Library(which shows all available episodes on my computer and in the iTunes Store) and from there I have to manually click to download. I tried deauthorizing all my computers and reauthorizing just one computer, and that didn't work either. I also deleted my other device(iPad) from the "iTunes in the Cloud" just in case there was some issue associated with that, and that didn't work either.
It’s sad that the iTunes rep didn't really "listen" to what you said. I find this happens at many other companies too. They often are trying to fit your problem into some prepared script or solution, or they are distracted or in a hurry and don't actually read or listen fully to an even well defined account of the problem.

Looking for an app the play iTunes TV shows.
Hi, I'm looking for an app that play iTunes TV shows. In iOs 7 its no longer possible, well it is, but every 11 minutes you have to get up and press the next tv show - if you find the next one, under ios6 it will automatically play the next show in correct order, and in iOs 7 all the shows are alphebetically, so in iOs 7 video app is tootally useless, what wants to watch tv shows alphabetical, and there is no continue button like in os 7, usually the next night I press the continue button in iOs 6.
The app I am looking for needs to have the same things like video app did in iOs6, for example;
1. Continue from last played (Works in iOs6, no longer supported in iOs7).
2. Sort shows from 1 to xx via episode number (Works in iOs6, no longer supported in iOs7).
3. Remember last played show, meaning if I scrolled down to middle and played just 1 show it remembers it (Works in iOs6, no longer supported in iOs7).
4. Prefer black background and not white like in iOs6, especially if your sleepy, do you really want to look at a painful white background.
Just imagine your taking a bath, do you really want to get out and press the next show? Worked perfect in iOs6.
I tried VLC and it can't even find the iTunes library. And there are so many players out there don't feel like downloading 100 of them to test them. Unless there is a way to download the iOs6 version of Video, I'd be happy. iOs 7 feels more like a beta version, even photos is messed up, white background and sometimes when you open up you see a previous picture I had opened before the last picture for 1 second before it closes and opens the last picture I viewed, and then the white bars top and bottom show and don't dissapear until you make them disappear.
I tried installing iOs6 again, but apple is not signing it, i'm not happy at all. If I can get my TV-Shows to work at least I'd have something. Music, TV-Shows, and Pictures is what I used my iPad for, now only Music still works as it should, what a bummer. Steve Job needs to come back.

Cannot get iPad 2 charged beyond 1%. All charging ports tried: AC adapter(s), USB 2 port on MacBook Pro. ITunes shows iPad only for a few seconds. iPad displays alternately: Apple logo, battery w/slim red band, then battery w/1% charged information. How can I get it to charge beyond 1% so I can proceed to troubleshoot?
I have had your exact problem with my old 3GS, now I cannot even get it to turn on, I still see that it is supposed to be charging though, but it never charges any so it seems.
I replaced the Lower Dock Connector Assembly back when it still charged while hooked to my PC, and it found it made no real difference.

The location for my music folders in itunes is showing correctly (E:\itunes\iTunes Media) but none of the songs are showing in my itunes library. Would be extremely grateful for any suggestions
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps youshouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

When i connect my iphone 3GS to my PC, while syncing in progress, pc shows backing up, preparing to sync. Then message display "itunes stopped working",

You can't "copy" your photos to the "library manager", there is just no way to any such thing.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
