Itunes u - downloaded ios development videos is missing

Hi,
I downladed IOS development videos via itunesu, once the downloaded is finshed the videos disappear. Itunes u is asking me to download the files again.
I tried several times it is not working, please help.
I am using Mac osx lion and itunes 10.5.3

I dowloaded those videos using older version of itunes (9.1) in my windows pc.
I also tried with itunes v 10.5.3 in my windows pc. its not working, so the problem is with itunes 10.5.3

Cant download iOS Developer Videos, getting err 3259

Hi
I have tried to download some videos from the Apple site related to iOS Development but the download fails each time in iTunes with err 3259.
Have tried this on both my Mac Mini (Lion - Up to date and iTunes up to date) and Windows 7 machines.
Firewall is disabled on both systems.
Downloads of iPad apps etc works fine just not videos from the Apple Developer site, any help/pointers would be appreciated.

I would add that this error shows up only when trying to download a video from any of these 'Developer on iTunes' collections: WWDC 2009 Sessions, Mac Development Resources, iOS Development Resources and Safari Development Resources. There's no such problem for WWDC 2010-2012 (both SD and HD) videos

IOS Development Videos problem

I try to Download iOS Development Videos via iTunes. The download starts normal and completed successfully, but under iTunes U the same download i completed can't be watched by me.
I hope anybody had the same problem and could help me.

Downloaded iOS Dev videos but some are not shown as downloaded in iTunes U collection

This is a 2 day old Mac Mini so maybe something is not set correctly.
I chose to download the iTunes U collection of iOS Development videos.
12 videos downloaded OK and I have been watching, the others downloaded but are not shown as downloaded (the 'Get' is still shown).
An example is the Effective iPhone App Development - Part 1
I have downloaded this now 3 times and logged out and back in, closed all applications and opened them again with no effect.
There was a comment in one Apple forum that suggested video restrictions may be preventing some downloaded videos from being displayed.
As far as I can see there are no restrictions set.
Must admit to being a bit stuck on this one.

I had the same problem. This seems like a bug.
I discovered a workaround for this problem:
Open your "iTunes Media" folder (usually at /Users/YOURUSERNAME/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media).
Inside "iTunes Media" should be a folder called "Downloads". Open it.
Now switch over to your iTunes application and start downloading the video.
Now switch back to the iTunes Media "Downloads" folder. A folder named "iTunes U" should appear. Open it. Now open the next folder which should be called "Effective iPhone App Development - Part 1 _ iOS Development Videos.tmp". Inside this temp folder you should see a file called "download.m4v" which we will deal with later.
IMPORTANT. While the video is still downloading, drag and drop any file (like a random text file) from a different location into that temp folder. If you don't drag and drop a file into the temp folder, iTunes will automatically delete the "download.m4v" video file right after it finishes downloading.
After the iTunes application is finished downloading, you can drag the "download.m4v" file out of the temp folder and onto the desktop or a different folder of your choosing. This file can now be viewed with Quicktime or any other video player.

Well blow me down & keelhaul me! I've solved my own problem. The issue appears to be that Apple won't sync Smart Groups from Address Book to the iPhone. I created a test group with a few dud contacts in Address Book; iTunes sync'ed then OK & as soon as I went into Contacts on iPhone, there suddenly was the Groups button appearing with 2 Groups - my Test Group + all Other contacts. Nice one apple - another undocumented feature! Looks like I have to do away with the Smart Groups feature & convert them all to normal Groups in Address book - bugga!

Our 30 new iPhone 5S came with iOS 7.1.1.

The fact that the OS requires 3.8GB of storage is ridiculous to begin with. Especially when they know there are a ton of 16GB models out there. Clearly another big brother attempt by Apple to force new iPhone sales which amazes me beyond description. If I experience pain with a product, I'm not going to buy another one and "hope" the problems go away. I'm going to buy a competitor's product. Apparently the lemmings keep following the herd or Apple couldn't continue these strong arm tactics. I'll stay on iOS 6.x until I'm ready for a new phone then...by another manufacturer.

I contacted apple and they checked and yes the originsl ipad cant support ios 6 - so cant use procreate have also checked the procreate website and it appears they advised itunes of this - ideally there should end up being two versions of procreate - one for ios 5 and one for ios 6 -
dont want to sell the current ipad and get another - at this stage - for the amount of usage it gets not worth the expense

I can't get iOS Development Videos to play in Safari or iTunes

If I go to https://developer.apple.com/videos/ios/ and try to play any of the videos listed, they will not play. I am using Safari 6.0.1 on my MacBook Pro which is running OS X 10.8.2.
When I click the "Watch now" link for the video I want to see, the player is show at the top of the page. If I click the "Play" button, nothing happens.
If I try to download it in iTunes (11.0), the video appears to download without any problem but, there is no indication that the video downloaded in the video list (the little button still reads "Get" for the video I downloaded). If I click the video in the list, and hit the play button, nothing happens.
It's hard to believe I am having problems with both sources...what am I doing wrong?

Well, I guess those videos are not supported by the current version of iTunes.
I originally had iTunes set to "Open in 32-bit mode" so I could watch these videos. But apparently, since I upgraded iTunes (and OS X), that setting no longer enables those videos to play. When that selection was enabled (Open in 32-bit mode), I experienced the behavior above. Once I de-selected that setting, and re-opened iTunes to try the video again, I recieved a message that stated "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes."
So, I guess I am out of luck?
This is hard to believe.

I had the same problem as you describe and the following solved my issue:
1. On the Iphone choose "Settings"
2. Choose "iTunes and App Stores"
3. Click on the Apple ID ( icon )
4. Choose sign out.
5. Then sign in again.
After that you should be able to download apps again.

I using Iphoto for an IOS device. I am going to share / itunes select the video and then click export...
However where do they go? Do I need to connect my device to my mac through itunes or is it sending it somewhere I cannot find?

When you connect your iPad to the computer you normally sync with and start iTunes on that computer you will find the file in the file sharing section of iTunes.
Start iTunes on your computer.
Connect your iPad.
Select your iPad in iTunes.
Select Apps in iTunes in the main or right side window.
Scroll down under apps to find the file sharing section. It's at the bottom.
Select iPhoto.
You will se the file and e able to move it to another location on your computer.

Something wrong with itunes u, downloads dont appear in library

I'm trying to download iOS development Videos podcast from itunes u and while certain videos have been downloaded, 13 of them wont appear as downloaded in itunes even after completing their downloads several times.
any help?

assuming it says something like this> "The file itunes library cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes"
