ITunes U files still playing after I deleted the app

I have an iPhone 4 using iOS 6.1. I deleted the iTunes U app, as well as the Podcast app because every time I plugged my phone into my car's USB port, it would automatically start playing the same iTunes U course instead of starting Spotify like it did before I got the app. I know this is my car just reading the first audio file it can find as if my phone was an iPod, so I just deleted the whole iTunes U app because I got really sick of hearing "Hello, and welcome to the new psychology of bla bla with bla bla and bla bla." REALLY annoying. SO, I deleted iTunes U then it started playing the Podcast App. I then deleted the Podcast app WHILE IT WAS PLAYING MIND YOU, and it continued to play! Even though I deleted the app and all it's content. I then turned my phone off and back on thinking that would help and I could not believe that when I plugged it back into the USB port, I heard, "Hello, and welcome to the new psychology...." I AM GOING INSANE HEARING THIS OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Seriously. The lock screen had the course picture on it as it was playing and when I hit "next" it started playing the next lecture too! How is this possible when I deleted the app, can't find anything about iTunes U on my phone now, so I don't see anything left to delete! I am also running out of space on my phone like crazy. It says it's capacity is 6GB, and I only have about 300MB of that left....When checking my usage on the phone, I added up all the apps and how much space they take up and it only comes out to about 3GB. WHERE IS ALL MY OTHER SPACE & how do I get these hidden files off my phone I am so f***ing frustrated with how slowly my phone is running because of this bull... I can't even update my iOS because I don't have enough space...even though I should have tons of extra space. Every time a new iPhone comes out, my old one starts to act funny.

Now that you know, try deleting through iTunes.  If that does not remove the image file, then place the app you mistakenly deleted back in the file folder from your latest backup and try deleting through iTunes again.

    Thanks for ur answers !

You are correct. There is no other way to recover this material, and yes it would have been a good idea to backup the iPhone prior to the restore. Remember that a restore to a previous date deletes everything on the device and puts it back to the state of things on the date you choose. The texts and contacts would be gone. Did you possibly sync the contacts with a supported application on the computer? That is the only other way to recover contacts. They are designed to be synced with a supported application on the computer, or with a cloud service such as iCloud, Google or Yahoo.

  • Why does instrument still play after wave is deleted?

In GB '11, I deleted a guitar track (aka real instrument) wave and upon playing the song back, the guitar part still played despite my deleting the wave. I either have to mute or delete the track to fix. Why is this happening?

If it is an IMAP account, try Mail/Preferences/Accounts/Mailbox Behaviors and un-check Store junk messages on the server.

  • Deleted two suspect apps but data was still in iCloud.  Do I always have to delete data from iCloud after deleting the app?

I downloaded more than ten invoicing apps from the App Store yesterday to check them out for ease of use.  I ended with five on my iPad to consider and entered trial info on each.  This morning I noticed I had duplicate headers in my calendar for major holidays.  I tried to delete one, but I could not.  Then two emails were sent in my name but with a strangely long and oddly foreign email address, which were invitations to come to Easter at my house.  I share my iPad with my husband and they were sent to his email account. in my name.  I do not know if it went out to all my contacts!!  Yikes!!  I deleted all the invoicing apps, but found that it did not delete info in iCloud for two of them, which I then deleted.  Why were they still in iCloud after I deleted the apps?  How do I make sure the virus/malware is gone from my iPad?  Is my calendar infected?  I thought all apps in App Store were vetted and safe!  I am worried because I want to set up my new home business electronically!

Apparently you can't delete anything from the icloud and the people at Apple are not helping and they give you no support to this question.  It's all over the message boards.  Literally, thousands of people asking this exact same question with Apple remaining mute on the subject.

  • My ipad automatically tried to update skype to version 4.1.1 It has been showing installing for 3 days and says waiting on the icon. It will not allow me to delete the app. When someone calls me on skype it rings but turns off as soon as I try to answer.

My ipad automatically tried to update skype. It has been installing for 3 days and the message waiting is on the icon. I am unable to delete skype to try and re install. I have gone to the licence page but there is nowhere that I can agree the terms as it is still trying to load.

delete the app on itunes (on PC) then download it again.

You may have installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, if the App Store says you need to update "Twitter," the hacked app may be "Angry Birds" or something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you have to carry out a systematic search.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
    File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
    Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu initially showing Kind. From that menu, select  Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select Raw Query and click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of popup menu. Click in that box and paste (command-V).
The search window will show all the App Store products you've installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the items listed in the search window is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Test.

My audio stops outputting after a few songs in a playlist - itunes says its still playing, stopping and starting track recommences audio output.  Mac book Pro Lion 16gb ram.  Can be any song, any time, same song will play if I select it again.  Bit of a bummer itunes is the main thing I use (macbook pro jukebox).

Most likely culprit is your Lacie drives which are notorious for flaky power supplies which cause just the sort of erratic behaviour that you describe. Have had similar issues myself. Lacie has been good about replacing my power converter-- twice. If you have seven of them, good luck finding the bad one or more. Like I said, the behaviour is erratic. Sometimes it'll work sometimes not. I can't comment on Samsung drives because I've never used them and have never heard anything about them. Same with Softraid. Why not just use Disk Utility. Sounds like you're ready for an external hardware raid. This will be much faster, much more reliable, and may even be cheaper than seven firewire drives. Check out G Tech, and Maxx Digital for starters.
    Best of luck

  • ITunes will no longer play my music, all the albumss are there but it if I click on a song to play it I get a message saying " The song (name of song) could not be played because the original file coul not be found. Would you like to locate it."

iTunes will no longer play my music, all the albumss are there but it if I click on a song to play it I get a message saying " The song (name of song) could not be played because the original file coul not be found. Would you like to locate it."

You get this message because  iTunes can’t find the file. This can happen for a number of reasons:
The song file or a folder in its path was renamed
The song file or the folder it is in has been moved
The song file has been deleted
The device containing the song files e.g. external drive is not accessible or the drive letter has changed.
Do any of these aply to you?

  • Trashed audio files still playing in presentation

You are out of luck on your PC, since the file appears to be empty, but you can try to recover the deleted video on your phone: http://www.wondershare.com/disk-utility/recover-deleted-photos-from-iphone.html

  • When i open an mp3 file from a source other than apple, does itunes create it's own file and can I then delete the original mp3?

when I open a music file from a source other than apple, does itunes create it's own file and can I then delete the original mp3?

If you use iTunes' default settings then when you add a file to iTunes it places a copy of the file in the iTunes media folder and it leaves the original in place.  The exception is when you drag it to the Automatically Add To iTunes folder.
It does not convert the file.  You can delete the original if you wish.
