ITunes U not syncing subscriptions
Ok, so I downloaded the iTunes U app from the app store and installed it on my iPhone 3GS. Next thing I do is fire up the app and start searching some interesting course content, subscribing to a few lectures along the way. Then I go back to the main window and so far so good, my subscriptions showed up and I was able to browse through the course content and even watch a couple of lectures (videos). I loved the way everything was so organized and categorize, really made it easy to work with and very intuitive… however I’m not much of a fan of watching an hour long presentation on my iPhone; I would much rather watch it on my MacBook Pro.
Now I assumed that given the whole “cloud craze”, all I had to do was open up iTunes on my MBP and it will automagically sync the subscriptions I already made on my iPhone with the iTunes U section of iTunes on my MBP. I waited… nothing… checked for available downloads… nothing…
So I tried to search for the same courses I subscribed to earlier, and apparently iTunes on my MBP claims that I’m not subscribed to them. I browse to them once again on my iPhone and it says that I am subscribed to them. At this point I feel like my Apple ID is developing a split-personality disorder.
So can anyone please explain to me why I’m getting mixed signals from my different devices with regards to the same service on the same Apple ID?
My device specs are:
- iPhone 3GS, running iOS 5.0.1
- MacBook Pro 15”, running iTunes 10.5.3 on Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2
I will bump the same issue. I am not able to sync iTunes U content between my phone and desktop. Some other solutions suggested forcing the download from a connected device in iTunes, but that only works if you connect your device witih iTunes. I use the icloud integration, so I don't directly sync my phone with iTunes. That direct download solution won't work unless you change the sync method or physically connect your phone. If this content syncs between iOS devices I don't see any reason why it wouldn't sync to your desktop. Especially content which is probably the most useful when viewed on your desktop.

I get error message iTunes could not sync calendars to iPhone because an error occurred while merging data on my wifes phone how do you correct problem without losing calendars info on phone.
One thing that might help.
1. open itunes preferences from the edit menu and click on the devices tab.
2. check the box to disable syncing for iphones connected to itunes and click ok.
3. Then click the button to reset sync history.
4. Now click ok to close the preferences window.
5. connect the iphone to itunes and go to the info tab.
6. scroll to the bottom of the info page and check the box to replace the ical data on the iphone.
7. then click apply on the bottom right of itunes.
This will overwrite any events on the iphone, including any events that has become corrupted.

My ipod touch is not showing in itunes therefore, not syncing. I've gone through the trouble shooting steps about 5 times.

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
Next try on another computer to help determine if you have an iPod or computer problem. -

Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled.
I DON'T HAVE ANY OTHER USB DEVICE CONNECTED. NOTHING AT ALL. IT SEEMS MY IMAC IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH AN OLDER IPOD??

Since I'd installed the new version of iTunes, iCal and Address book do not sync with my iPhone 3GS through iTunes anymore and I get an error message stating that iTunes can not sync with this iPhone. Was must i do to correct this issue and if i must, how dI reintall iTunes without loosing my content?

I've tried turning the phone off and back on, & tried both USB ports but get the same thing. What can I do next since it doesn't give me even one clue as to what the error would be?
Before I started to resync calendars one by one as suggested in the troubleshooting article, I remembered something that came up in a sync when I first attempted : a 'which one do you want to keep' message about a repeating calendar event, which came up with three options, one from Calendar, and two from iCal on the phone. I deleted that event, then went through the calendar resync one by one, and all seems OK now.
In Music there is a way to find 'ghost' items that show up as grayed-out on the menus, so that you can try to reassociate or delete them. It would be nice to have a similar way to work with Calendar!

I have been having a problem with my iPod touch and syncing the calendar with my PC I keep getting this error message +iTunes could not sync calendars to the iPod "Peters iPod" because sync server failed to sync the iPod+ It could be coincidence but this problem began right after I got my Verizon iPhone and loaded that into my iTunes, I never get this message on my iPhone and have received it only twice on my iPad. I called Apple Care and they suggested that I remove and reinstall iTunes and QuickTime and they sent me a link on how to remove them in a particular sequence...I followed their advice but it didn't help so I called them back and they said I must not have followed the sequence and to try again...needles to say I am frustrated because it wasn't that complicated I removed it as directed and still I get the error message...if anyone has any suggestions *please help!!*
Thanks, Stuwawah. Tried this. Although Notes did sync, and although the calendar info was posted to iPod, we haven't fixed the problem yet. New symptom to report. When I opened "calendar" on the iPod, I was able to tap on an event, but I can't tap my way back to any other view of "calendar." The "<--calendars" button is missing. Is there a trip to the Apple Store in my near future?

Hi.
So, I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 4.3.5. I am syncing it using iTunes version 10.4.1 running on a MacBookPro running Mac OSX 10.7.1.
When I do a sync it runs through the usual steps, including the step where it says it is syncing calendars, and each step appears to complete in the iTunes window. However, as it finishes, a warning message appears saying "iTunes could not sync calendars to the iPhone "ABC" because the iPhone disconnected". Here's a screen grab of the error message:-
Now, the phone has not physically disconnected. I'm a bit baffled by this. It is a new iPhone 4, but inital syncs were performed without any difficulty. I have tried inserting a TEST event, to make sure that there is in fact a difficulty with the sync, and I can confirm that the error is not a phantom; syncs are not taking place. In additon, I have tried (albeit not methodically) to vary the particular calendars that are to sync, and the sync settings around old events, but to no avail.
Any suggestions for trouble shooting this would be gratefully received.

I haven't seen it mentioned but the secret is to
Sync only selected calendars
Select "Remove Calendars" from the popup window
(This is ambigous: from where are the calendars removed? From the device being synced to)
Click apply.
Oops! My memory is already gone stale. I think I left no calendars selected, then clicked apply. Then I selected the calendars that I wanted, then clicked apply.
In any case, I had a blank calendar on my iPad and then I had all the updated events that I wanted on my iPad.

Just went to sync my iphone today and got this message:
iTunes could not sync calendars to the iphone because the iphone disconnected.
Any ideas what the problem might be. Had not had this happen to me before.
Can't be iCloud because the only thing I use that for is Find My Mac.
Restarted iTunes as well - still get the warning notice.
Any ideas?I have the same issue - it just started happening. Any suggestions out there??

Problem uploading a 36.7 MB PSD file to blackboard learning systems
