ITunes U Publishing Profile in Camtasia Relay

I work for UMass Boston and am in the process of trying to set up a publishing profile in Camtasia Relay to our iTunes U site. My issues is with the site URL as it exceeds the character limit set in the iTunes U profile creator in Camtasia.
I was wondering if anyone had any success with setting this up on their campus and if so if you could provide me with any information as to how you were able to get this working.

Yes, it sounds like you are using the original iTunes U tools. You can request that Apple create an iTunes U Public Site Manager account for your institution by submitting a support form.
That original site was used for both private and public content up until the time that Apple released iTunes U Public Site Manager (iTUPSM). iTUPSM was created as the dedicated tool for managing public sites and the original tool was from then on to be used for private sites.
These private sites have become a bit of a legacy as Apple has been focusing on iTunes U Course Manager (the tool used by faculty to create courses which can be public or private through a managed roster) and iTunes U Public Site Manager.

Drag the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder to /Users/Shared/.
Log into the other user.
Option drag (this copies instead of moves and sets the correct permissions) the iTunes folder in /Users/Shared/ to your /Music/ folder, replacing what is there.
You can then delete /Users/Shared/iTunes/ folder.

Can you use a publishing profile to deploy to multiple locations?

Is there a way to deploy my web app to multiple locations? Right now I am using a publishing profile (example below) and tried to use MSDeploy to deploy to my server and then just to a network location by having multiple PropertyGroup attributes.
Without creating two builds (one to deploy to the server and a second to the file system) how can I do this? The code below doesn't cause any errors but it only uses the last PropertyGroup.
Any suggestions?

ITunes on multiple profiles on one computer using Windows 7

I have the latest version of iTunes installed on my computer which uses Windows 7. The initial profile that was made was the profile named Linda. My daughter wanted to create her own profile on the computer named Brie. When we go under Brie's profile and attempt to open iTunes we get the message "The item referred to by this shortcut cannot be accessed. You may not have the appropriate permissions."
I receive the above message even when I go to Start>Programs>iTunes.exe. When I look at where is it trying to go, it is trying to open iTunes in C:\>Users>Linda>Music>iTunes.
Why is it trying to open iTunes in there? On our old computer, each profile had their own iTunes with own library. Why will it not allow a totally separate iTunes on Brie's profile? Is it possible that iTunes was installed in the incorrect place? Should the actual program be in a shared folder somewhere or something?

As a side note, my problem seems to be the opposite of most others. I do NOT want to share a library between two profiles, but rather give them each their own and be able to open iTunes on both profiles (NOT at the same time obviously) with their own music in each.

Invalid website publish settings file to import publish profile

I am new user of Azure. I created a virtual machine through Azure's website, and ran "Get-AzurePublishSettingsFile" command to download the publish setting file. I later used VS 2012 to publish an ASP.NET website. After selecting the downloaded
publish setting file, an error shows up saying that "Invalid website publish settings file to import publish profile".
It should be noted that I wasn't able to find "Download the publish profile" on Azure's website itself. The Dashboard page didn't have the link to download the publish profile.
I am wondering what might be the cause of the error? How to fix it? Thanks for any thoughts in advance!

When running Get-AzurePublishSettingsFile, I actually downloaded the publish profile successfully. The problem is with importing the file: after selecting the publish profile in Visual Studio, I got the error ""Invalid
website publish settings file to import publish profile".
Did anyone else run into the same problem?

Multiple Publish Profiles using MSBuild

Hi,
I recently set up a build server for our web project using Team Foundation Server and MSBuild. On the Team Foundation Server I can specify a Publish Profile for each build configuration to have the web site published to a web server on each build execution.
But so far I am only able to set ONE Publish Profile. Is there any way to specify multiple profiles to be able to publish to different web servers?

Hi Kai,
Based on your description, seems you'd like to deploy the build output to multiple target environments. As far as I know, for each build execution with MSBuild, you might specify one publish profile in your build definition to do the publish. But it's possible
to run post build script to publish the same build output to different web servers after building. And you can refer to this
blog for more information.
Another way is use Release Management for Visual Stduio 2013, and it's a simple way to reuse the build output to do the deployments. In the relsease, you can change its property to select the build that your want to publish.

Windows Profile corrupt how to transfer ITUNES to new profile

My windows profile was corrupted and when I connect from the new profile it wants to wipe my iphone.
Windows XP Pro
Iphone 3GS 16g
There is nothing in the ITUNES other than my iphone. Everything is ON my IPHONE but instead of syncing IPHONE to ITUNES, it wants to sync ITUNES to IPHONE(wiping my iphone).
SO I need to either recover my ITUNES from old profile or sync IPHONE to ITUNES

Hi, welcome to Apple Discussions.
Move the folder *C:\Documents and Settings\<Old Profile>\My Music\iTunes* to the root of the C: drive so it becomes C:iTunes.
Click on the icon to launch iTunes and immediately press and hold down SHIFT until asked to create or choose a library. Choose the library at C:\iTunes.
iTunes will recognise that the old library is the one connected to the iPhone.

ITunes "unknown publisher" error

I tried to update iTunes to v8 via Apple Software Update but it failed due to some error with the updater. I uninstalled Apple Software Updater and also iTunes 7.1. I tried then to install iTunes 7.1 so I can re-download Apple Software Updater and I'm getting an error saying "unknown publisher" and even if I try in install iTunes 8 nothing at all is happening.
Any ideas?

That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

IBooks Author-iTunes Producer publishing delivery problem

Why do I get an error message "Path specified for argument -f (/Users/tsoukadaris/Documents/��/iBooks/10000422963.itmsp) is invalid.", since I've done everything needed and iTunes Producer has got me to the final step of publishing my iBook? Why can't my file be located, since I've exported my iBooks Author project and I have selected it in the Assets/iBook area?

What is the name of the folder with the ? characters? Does it use non-ascii characters? If so, you may have to change things so they are located someplace with an ascii name.

HELP! Creating MP3 Audio Clip from iTunes to publish in iWeb

I had successfully been able to publish in iWeb MP3 audio clips.Two of 4 MP3 audio clips that I had published and uploaded to the internet and were successfully mounted on the website for a year, suddenly would not function on the internet [I checked it out on both Safari and IE browsers — not a browser issue].
I proceeded to troubleshoot the issue in iWeb to pursue the following considerations:
Was the website requiring more webspace because I tried the MP3 clip on another website I have constructed that is far below its capacity. Same results. The clip would not publish in iWeb.
I reloaded the original song in iTunes, followed the instructions "How to convert a song to a different file format".

BUT! AND, IT'S A HUGE BUT! In the iWeb publishing screen, the MP3 player has a '?' under the image.
However, upon uploading the site, the MP3 player is functioning! And, plays perfectly well. Go figure?
I cannot discern how or why this occurred after many attempts prior to my contacting you, the player in iWeb publishing mode was in a 'non-function' state. However, in desperation to have the player functional, I gave it another go round, and VOILA!, it uploaded successfully. It's a mystery to me.
What I am going attempt to do for the other website that originally had the two players, is upload it even though iWeb shows they are not published and see what happens.
It may be a website issue after all rather than the 'MP3 player'. That being the case, I will contact the ISP Domain Host and arrange for more space for this particular site.
The website that successfully uploaded the player is very small. The other one is a huge. It may be a case scenario that the latter is on overload.
Back to you later to see what happens next and verify the status quo for the original site the players were loaded.

ITunes image publishing issue

I've recently put up two different podcast feeds from my site to iTunes. Both feeds work wickedly and everything is fine. The only issue is, The feeds don't have images on iTunes. I would love the people who download it to have the image along with the podcsts. The apple site says you drag the image to the question mark during the publishing section but it doesn't do anything. The image just bounces back into the Finder page. Any help would be great!

We are aware of iTunes U sites that have created fairly broad and deep structures to include hundreds and even thousands of courses. This design of building a site is expected and recommended by Apple in order to help your user's experience of browsing iTunes U be as simple as possible. There are 2 problems that we aware of that come from this practice. First, the experience for Administrators can be slow and tedious due to the size of the site's main page and/or subsequent division pages. This problem may lead to a situation where iTunes simply renders a blank page when the Site Administrator logs in. Second, access to pages for end users can be slow especially if that structure is particularly large (in the thousands of course pages and tabs).
The iTunes U team will be working to resolve several issues that can arise from having sites this large and in the mean time we are recommending a few things that will help you plan your site and optimize its performance:
- Don't create empty courses and groups if there's no immediate need for them. Try to create courses and groups on demand. A large set of empty courses and groups can slow things down and will also clutter your user interface.
- We don't recommend more than 100 tracks per group. If you have a need to create a large collection of tracks that grows beyond 100 tracks, then we recommend creating several groups and subdividing your collection or using multiple course pages.
- We don't recommend more than 200 courses on one page. Again, if you have a need to create this many courses we would recommend that you subdivide. We will be working to resolve this issue in order to simplify and flatten the user experience for users that have access to only a few courses/groups.
- Clean up unused courses and groups and archive them outside of iTunes U. If you know a course from a previous session/semester/quarter is no longer being used, then you could delete it and restore it a later time if necessary.

My ipad mini was stolen and i have activated the find my phone to lock it. how can i get the serial number off my itunes or icloud profile? and what are the chances that the find my iphone app works when someome erases the device?

ITunes on one computer/multiple profiles

ITunes 5.0.1 opens on my profile but will not open on my kids' profiles on same compter.
I think everything was OK until I upgraded to 5.0

ITunes loads into two winxp profiles at the same time...

Well I just installed itunes.. For some reason if my gf's profile is signed in and I start itunes.. itunes opens up in her profile as well as mine... but when i switch to her profile the itunes window says that itunes already running.
if i start itunes under her profile this does not happen.
this only happens when I start itunes on my profile.
has anyone else experienced this or know how to solve this problem???

I also noticed that if i open and close the pref window another instance of itunes shows up under my gf's profile in the task manager. it only shows up after i close the window.

Because my issue is that when I open itunes, itunes also opens on my gf's profile within 2 secs of itunes being open. and everytime i open the pref window or some sort of window pops up another instance of itunes opens on my gf's profile. so i would either have to switch to my gf's profile and dismiss all the you can only have one instance of itunes open windows or i have to kill the process in the task manager
my gf doesn't use itunes at all since we don't own an ipod and she dosen't listen to music on the computer, and i am only using it for the store.
