ITunes U trapped in a course

Help! when I open the iTunes U app it opens into a course I last looked at. But now it will not let me turn back to the library. When the Library pointer is tapped it closes the app. I use this app a lot and reloading would cause me to loose the content of my library.

iTunes U Public Site Manager based sites only support RSS feeds. We wish to better comply with TEACH Act guidelines by using VOD (video on demand as opposed to real-time streaming) HTTP Streaming where an instructor is asserting educational fair use of copyrighted material. The key component in TEACH guidelines is that the student not be able to retain the materials beyond the duration of the course. Thus, VOD HTTP Streaming will meet this specification nicely and is supported across all of iOS and MacOS X.

I knew about that, but my question is, if it is possible to use an europe power adapter.
Because i dont want to a carry around an power adapter and a plugin adapter.

Can any institution be on iTunes U and can the course be restricted somehow?

Hello all,
I'm working with a client and we're pretty interested in using iPads as a learning platform in our course that we're putting together. iTunes U seems to be a great tool and we're looking at using that as well as an optional tool to add to our workflow.
Firstly, I'm curious to know if any instituion that offers a course is able to get onto iTunes U. I suppose you could even think of it as an internal company course.
I've looked around for answers and I'm still a bit confused. Some say you have to be an accredited education institution, and others say you don't have to be accredited and it's just a matter of Apple approving your institution to be on iTunes U via this page https://eduapp.apple.com/
Secondly, is there a way to restrict access to the courses you provide? The reason is that the iTunes U tools look great for managing materials and teaching a course, but we don't want just anyone being able to access the materials since the course is a paid course. We want to be able to use the tools, but somehow have only the people that actually take the course be able to access the materials on iTunes U.
As a side note, we're looking at iBooks Author to create our textbooks. We won't be selling them on the iBooks store, but we're curious if the only way to get them on the student's (institution-provided) iPads is to manually upload them through iTunes via the Books tab in the iPad sync window. Can iTunes U store textbooks?
Furthermore, we're looking at using Apple Configurator to manage the class iPads that we hand out. Does this also support loading our textbooks onto it? Or would we have to manually do them one-by-one?

You can make ibooks accessable by posting the files on a web server and providing your users with a hyperlink to the file. Your iOS users then can use safari to download the book. When you download the file you will be prompted to what program you want to use to view the file. Just choolse ibooks and it will save the file in your ibooks app for future use.
Note: you must add the ibooks mime type to your web server so it knows what to do wtih the file when a user reqeusts it.
I have tested and confirmed with IIS.

Itunes u closes after choosing course

Hi, when I open Itunes U and choose course to view, it automatically closes without any info or error. On Imac I can watch that course without any problem. It was working in the past. Now in version 7 and previously in version 6.1 I could not make it working. I do not know if it is a bug or there is some seeting I do not know about.

Close inactive apps and try again.
1. Double tap the home button to bring up the multi-tasking view
2. Swipe up on the screenshot of the app you want to exit.
3. The app will fly off the screen

Stedent View in Private iTunes U site seeing all Courses

Our iTunes U site is private and can only be accessed through Blackboard. The student should only be able to access the course they are enrolled in, but instead is able to see every course we have created in iTunes U.
I can not figure out what setting I have not set correctly.

Duncan, Thank you. But would you or anyone else have any specific details they can provide? This help area just does not tell you what you need to do and is instead just an overview. Still can not figure out how to set this so students will only see the courses they are enrolled in and not ALL courses.

Can't Access the our iTunes U Public Site or Course Manager

Hello,
I am a new iTunesU project manager. Our institution was accepted and I was able to activate the site. When I go to the email from Apple that indicated we had received service, I click on the (only) link (to activate) and it replies "Your request is temporarily unable to be processed".
When I go back to the original iTunes U enrollment and admin portal, I can log in and it indcates we are accepted.
I know we have an account. i know it is activated. I can see that is is trying to launch. I just can't get in to configure it.
Can anyone help?

I am not able to transfer my iTunesU courses downloaded using itunes on PC into iTunesU app itself.

I have downloaded some courses on my PC using iTunes. When i transfer course content to my iPad2(iOS 5.1) it is not shown in iTunesU app rather videos are present in video app and pdf documents are transferred to iBooks app.
I wanted both videos and documents to be present in iTunesU so that i can browse them more easily and in an orgaized way.
I searched a lot to find a method for doing this but didn't find any.
Please suggest me how can I do this.

Launching an iTunes U course via an URL scheme

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to launch a particular course in the iTunes U app via Launch Center Pro. There's the URL scheme itm-itunesu:// that launches the library. I was hoping that there's a way to append the specific URL for the course, so I could launch right into the course.
Any thoughts?

Can't enable iTunes U in Blackboard Course

We are using the Vanderbilt iTunes U building block and are having 2 issues.
When the course shell is added to iTunes U outside of the course, it doesn't show up for users enrolled in the course.
The fix to problem 1, we discovered, was to create a shell to the course via the course itself by enabling iTunes U from within the course. However, today, when trying to enable iTunes U from a course, we receive the following error:
java.lang.AssertionError: ITunesUFilePOST.invokeAction(): I/O Exception java.net.MalformedURLException: ITunesUFilePOST.invokeAction(): URL "http://deimos-upload.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/Files.woa/Upload/sf.edu/X__8828 841978_5566e913.5566e914.5565b0a6_/%5Banonymous8828841978%5D/004e1af18c5633bcaa7 a09c76c56d267e8a33149a019fc0f19c50b5286a1a00cfee8ee8fdf" does not use HTTPS.
Is anyone else having these issues? If so, what are the workarounds?

Having the same issue with the "not use HTTPS" that just started. As far as we know, nobody has changed any settings. Is there a new release that now requires HTTPS and didn't before? Interested in the solution to this as well...

Of course it always works, what are you talking about.
I appreciate that re-downloading is only available in the US and then only with certain content. However content that cannot be re-downloaded is not offered for purchase on the Apple TV.

Two Questions on iTunes U Artwork

Hello:
My university has a private instance of iTunes U. My 2 questions have to do with artwork.
1. I have found that when downloading directly to iPhone/iPod touch/or iPad, not all artwork is downloading along with the podcast. Some courses are displaying the artwork- while others are not. All the images are 300x300 jpegs. I have tried setting the track preferences to consume the course page image for all and still no luck having the artwork on the device. When I sync my device with a computer, it will then appear. This is frustrating as many uses are downloading content directly to their device. Is there some secret to setting to getting all artwork to display on the device?
2. Is it possible within iTunes U to have a course with podcasts that all have different artwork, but have the collection image be something other than the first image when displayed on the device? For example, lets say I have a course that is Finance- each podcast has its own artwork, but when I look at the collection on the iPhone, the artwork displayed is the artwork from the first podcast in the collection. Hope that makes sense.

If I understand your problem correctly, your solution is to set desired artwork as the track's image itself. You apply the artwork within iTunes before you put your file on iTunes U.

Itunes update 11.4 (windows 7) and IOS 8 on iphone 5

I just recently updated my iPhone 5 to the IOS 8 and when I went back into iTunes it said " The iPhone cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 11.2 or later". I tried to and it kept coming up with "Errors occurred while installing the updates. If the problem persist, chose Tools > Download Only and try installing manually" which I tried. After it didn't work, I decided to uninstall itunes and all of the apple folders and then reinstall it again. When I did so, It said when it was updating that "Object already exist" and im positive that i've deleted all of the folders and everything as well as restarting my computer multiple times afterwards. It wont let me install itunes at all. Is there anything that I can do to fix this?

Yep! One HUGE very time consuming frustration. Errors, invalid signature and now as soon as I click 'Download iTunes' it says thanks that I've downloaded iTunes which it hasn't done! I've taken off iTunes, I've made sure my pop-up blocker is set to medium, cleared most of my temp file, closed my Avast protection. I'd love to throw out iTunes all together but of course that's not possible. I'm locked in.

Hello community, I seem to be having an issue with itunes.
Upon opening itunes everything works fine. But the second i plug in my iphone, itunes freezes and wont respond.
If i already have my iphone plugged in and then try to open itunes, a type of beveled outline in the shape of the itunes page appears, but of course thats useless.
I have reinstalled itunes twice, restarted computer twice and nothing seems to work... please help me out!!

Syncing multiple iPhones to one iTunes account on my iMac?

When we bought our four iPhones last November using the Family Plan with AT&T, we all had our own computers, two Macs and two PC's, and our own iTunes accts. So of course we all synced our phones to our own accounts on our own computers. Now I'm wondering if that was wise? I have bought several applications since 2.0 and the App Store opened, and I'd like my husband and two teenage sons to be able to sync to my computer and download the apps I've bought so we don't have to pay a fortune to get them on each phone. Is it possible to do this? I know iTunes allows syncing of up to five devices on one computer. So does this apply to the iPhone and the App Store too? If so, how do we go about doing this? I do know my teens won't want to lose their own iTunes accounts on their own computers. My husband won't care. He will want to go the route that saves him money.

My wife and I share almost everything...so when we purchase apps, we use the same Apple account. We have one account with AT&T with two phones. We also have one account at the apple store and charge everything to a specific credit card that has a very low monthly ceiling. This allows us to download the apps to our iphones from different computers. When I buy an app or download a free one, she logs in with our account and is eligible to download the app too. I think it is OK with Apple but have not read the fine print of the agreement.
