ITunes U (UC Berkeley Computer Science) requiring iTunes 6 upgrade from 7.3

I tried to get into the UC Berkeley area of the iTunes U, and I got an error message that I needed to upgrade to at least iTunes 6. I've got the latest and greatest, iTunes 7.3 that recently came out. Anyone know if there are any fixes due to work around this?

This appears to have fixed itself! It works fine now with not even a reboot!

The 3G cannot be updated to iOS6, it can only go to iOS 4.2.1.
Activation issues are generally the result of the device being hacked or jailbroken.

When you upgrade attached to iTunes a backup copy is made...then after the upgrade the backup is used to restore all the content to your iDevice, assuming you are actually talking about upgrading from iOS 4 to iOS 5.

IPhone 3G Won't Back Up In iTunes Since Upgrading From XP to Windows 7

I currently own an iPhone 3G which has worked perfectly and synchronized with iTunes for the past 18 months. I recently upgraded my OS on my PC from Windows XP to Windows 7. Obviously i had to wipe the hard drives and re install everything. Since then my iPhone will not back up with iTunes. iTunes recognises my phone and says it is up to date but when it goes to 'Back Up iPhone' it just seems to freeze after about 10 minutes and nothing happens apart from iTunes freezing too.
It came up with a message the first time i plugged it in after the upgrade which said 'This iPhone is already Synched with a different library' it then asked me if i wanted to synch it with the new library or merge them. I opted to synch it with the new library and ever since then it has never once worked in over 3 months.
Can anyone help please ??

I had sync issues with my iphone and itunes on Win7. Seemed to last for ever, I ended up buying a new sync cable and all my problems seemed to go away.
The other thing you can try is to launch itunes as administrator if that does work try launching itunes in XP compatibility mode. Both of those worked for me off and on as I struggled with this issue until I bought the new cable.

The computer works very bad after upgrade from 10.4.11 to 10.5

I have upgraded my powermac g5 double processor from 10.4.11 to 10.5 now the computer works very bad. If I try to launch software update the application crash, final cut pro crash, when I try to mount a disk image the application crash, firefox is very slow and I can really navigate on the web.

I am experiencing the same problem after upgrading to PSE13, but haven't found a solution yet.

Another permanent workaround (which doesn't require to copy the pse database every time you want to sync) is described here: Elements 13: Cannot synchronise photo albums in iTunes after upgrading from Elements 11

I downloaded the most recent iTunes software (upgrading from version 10) and now I cannot use iTunes at all! Upon opening iTunes, it says that "an unknown error occurred (-45054)". If i click "ok" itunes immediately closes itself...what do I do??

I can't install itunes to windows 7 64 bit because of computing space requirements

I tried to install iTunes 10.7 on my computer but it stops when the installation says :computing space requirements. Then it just says "rolling back action", "the installation was unsuccessful". I don't know what's going on because I have more than 40 GB of free space on my hard disk drive. I also tried with an older version of iTunes but it keeps doing the same thing.

Having the installer quit at that particular moment is consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

If I have no music on my iTunes at all and no music on my computer, hard drive or any other version of storage yet there is a playlist on my iPhone. While my iPhone is plugged into my PC and my iTunes is up, is there a way to swap my playlist from my iPhone to my iTunes? Directly? Without downloading some new media source or backing up my old media source from my history. The reason everything was deleted (iTunes and media source) was due to the size of everything and space it was requiring. I am simply trying to get 233 songs from A to B.

HT4972 I have music on my itouch that I did not purchase from itunes, but downloaded from CD's that I owned. If I upgrade my iOS and sync my device, will it remove that music, requiring me to reload it back onto the device?

I've found that certain apps that I desire require a certain iOS level, so to speak. However, I have been hesitant to sync my itouch (3rd generation) to itunes to upgrade, mainly because it warns me that my media will be removed. Most of the music on my device has come from CDs which I have downloaded onto my itouch and not from itunes, so the music is not on my itunes itself. Since I do not fully comprehend what "syncing" my itouch to my computer will do, I would like to be certain that if I do sync my device all media will be removed. If this is the case, then I must persue ways to back that music up before I proceed with the syncing. If you could let me know as much information about this as possible, I would be truly grateful. It shows on iTunes SOME of my past purchases, but not all (looks like around 30-40% of purchases).    It shows on my apple id purchase history everything i have purchased; but in iTunes, some not all of these show up.    What does show up is kind of "greyed out", so NOTHING will actually play.   I have followed the steps in the iTunes support about how to redownload past purchases, but this dowsn't work, as the download button is also "greyed out".
I am extremly angry and upset about this issue. Could someone please help / advise re how to fix????
