ITunes update 12.1 error 2324

The apple update 12.1 won't finish installing. I get error 2324. I have the latest version of windows 8.1, update 1/28/2015. This has happened before. Per previous help I tried to uninstalled iTunes programs iTunes/Apple Softwear Update/iCloud/mobileme/bonjour/apple application support, then reinstalled iTunes from Apple.com. This time I get can't uninstall iTunes - I get error 2324.

I discovered that I had forgot to delete the iTunes shortcut icon from my computer. Once I did, then uninstalled in order the programs iTunes / Apple Softwear Update / iCloud / Mobile / Bonjour / Apple Application support (both 64 & 32 bit) I could then re-install iTunes from the Apple site.

  • ITunes update fails with error 2324, uninstall fails with 2324 as well, no way to run itunes

I have not used itunes for a year or so.  Every time I turn on my Windows 7 x64 desktop, the update fails.
This time I tried to update and got the failure code 2324.  I then decided to just uninstall and start over.  The uninstaller gives me the same error code.  When I try to run the old version of itunes that worked for quite some time I get an error stating the program is not compatible with my operating system.
I am stuck and I cannot call support during normal business hours because I work for a living and won't be in front of my home desktop.

Try to unistall it clean using that microfoft utility
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall/
make sure to get rid of all apple stuff using that program, one by one.
Then download installer again, but before disable all firewalls and antivirus.
    and install.

    Hey jeight26,
When you uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, did you use this article?
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
If you haven't already done these steps, this section contains information that might help your situation, as the order and manner which you uninstall has an effect on the outcome:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
Let us know if following that article and uninstalling those components in that order helped the situation.
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities!
    Sincerely,

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components; this won't affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • ITunes update shows runtime error R6034/iTunes error 7/Windows error 1114. iTunes tells me to reinstall but I've uninstalled/restalled and get same error messages.

After iTunes update I see this - Runtime error R6034 "application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly".  ThenUninstalled then I also get iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes error 7 (Windows error 1114).  I've tried fixes for runtime but computer says there are no errors.  I've uninstalled/reinstalled iTunes and get all the above messages.  Now when I start up my computer the runtime error pops up, but once it is closed computer works fine until I try to open iTunes.  I've even tried a system restore going back to November.  I use iTunes for audiobooks on iPod and I'm going to get desperate soon. Any suggestion?

  • ITunes "updates" "insufficient privileges" errors ATTN: HELP KATRINA

    Hi:
Yet again, I cannot download an iTunes update without it failing and forcing me to uninstall the whole iTunes appliciation. This is the message I get: "the installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: c:\program files X86\comm files\apple\core fp. I once read a brilliant explanation how to get it to work again from Katrina S., but unfortunately cannot find that explanation again. I tried someone else's, which involved me going into "regedit" and doing a whole convoluted thing about giving myself permission to access everything. Since I am the SOLE user of this computer, I cannot understand this error message. PLEASE, KATRINA!! If you see this message, can you help?

Glad you got it installed, and thanks for the points.
I can't really say whether this will fix it for good, since I don't know what else you've got installed on your PC. Security software, or installing other programs, could definitely change folder permissions without specifically telling you. That c:/program files/ folder is used by many windows applications - not just itunes.
If you get error messages about not having permission to a folder, whether it's during an itunes install or not, just go to the security tab and grant permissions again....to whatever folder is mentioned in the message.

  • After latest iTunes update I get error message when syncing:

"iTunes could not sync information to the iPhone "name" because a connection could not be established to the iPhone". Same for my iPad, same for both even after upgrading to IOS6.0. Any ideas?
I tried to carry out a restore on the iPhone but iTunes cannot back it up.
Is the latest iTunes broken? or is it just me?
I am on Windows 7 64 bit, Never had this problem till the latest iTunes update.

So I am unclear, did you purchase these songs or import them from a cd?
If you imported them and still have the CD try importing them again and see if they work the delete the others.
Or if you purchased from itunes re-dowwnload and see if they work. Maybe they are corrupted files and this should resove it.

  • ITunes update keeps giving error message about internet connection

I just downloaded the most recent update to itunes and now I cannot acces the itunes store and get the error message that to check my internet connection.  I am connected to the internet. I already uninstalled and reinstalled the program.  Any ideas of what I can do?

    Hi teetertody,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like iTunes does not access the store. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

  • Received an iTunes update and then error message "iTunes was not installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes. error 7 (Windows error 126) I also received and error message that MSVCR80.dll was not found.  I read online to unintall all Apple programs and

Was not enough room to finish.  I tried to uninstall all Apple programs and reinstall but I was asked to validate an unidentified publisher and don't have a clue what that is and could not remove programs.  I am not good at fixing stuff on the computer and would like some help with this.  I have had iTunes for a long time without issue.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall press on)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

  • ITunes update brought new error

I recently updated iTunes, and when I tried opening up it said "The iTunes Library file is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file." I restarted my MacBook Pro, and the message still pops up when I try to open iTunes. I looked at my library files in my Documents folder, and they're both on read & write, and can't figure out what's going on. Any help to get this open is appreciated.

I am trying to download the latest iTunes update; keep getting error message that says "The folder path 'My Documents' contains an invalid character".  This also happens when I try to uninstall iTunes.  HELP!

OK, never mind!  I saw another question on the right side that addressed the problem, and it worked perfectly!  Went to Major Geeks' page, downloaded the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility, and was able to reinstall the updated version of iTunes!  This community is super!

  • ITunes update will not open -- file format not recognized

My computer cannot open the iTunes update. The error message says that the archive format is not recognized.
As far as I can tell the file format, or extension is rpm. My research reveals that this stands for Red Hat Package Manager. I downloaded a trial version of Salamander which claims to handle rpm file archives, but it STILL won't open.
Does anyone know what type of file extractor I need to open these files? Any help would be appreciated.

Same problem on my intel MacBookPro. Happened to me after doing the ilife08 upgrade a few minutes ago. Downloaded from apple again and did the upgrade option. That seems to have done the trick.
