ITunes update has killed my shuffle!!!

I did a software update today and installed the latest version of iTunes (8.0.1) and as soon as i plugged my shuffle in (2nd Gen, 1gb) iTunes said it was synced to another computer and i'd need to sync & erase so i could reload my shuffle.
No problem i thought as was just going to replace the playlist on it anyway.
It has now erased everything off my shuffle and is treating it like a brand new iPod.
Except when it asks me to name the iPod in the initial set up all i get is the spinning beach ball and iTunes fails to respond, leaving me having to force quit iTunes and having an iPod that's neither use nor ornament.
Any suggestions guys????

actually, scratch that - I fixed it.

  • Recent Windows 7 Update has killed windows

Help, I run Windows 7 in Bootcamp, recent windows 7 update has killed windows, this is what happens.
Choose to boot to windows - OK
    Hit logon screen - OK
    Logon - OK
Windows loads, the desktop shows for about 5 seconds and then the screen goes blank.
The computer is still ON but the screen is blank.
I can boot into safemode OK, but can't run the bootcamp update (that I downloaded from here) in safemode.
I tried a restore point, but the ones before the update create an error, so thats a no go.
My thoughts are that it is a video driver issue, but that doesn't explain how it gets passed logon working OK.
I don't know how to fix this if the only way to update drivers is via an .exe vs the driver files themselves like windows usually likes.

You could try this advice from the Windows side.
Startup Repair is a good place to start if your system starts acting up. If you can’t get the Advanced Boot Options screen by hitting F8, you can also access the tools by booting from a System Recovery Disc, or the Windows installation disc. While System Repair might not be able to recover your system in all situations, it’s a great starting point before getting into more detailed recoveries like Restoring from an image or clean install.

  • HT203167 yet again failed iTunes update has removed my purchased music

latest update has removed some of my purchased tunes update stalle part way!

    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

  • New iTunes Update Has Made it Impossible to Load to My Ipod

I just downloaded and installed the new update for iTunes. When I next attached my ipod to load things on to it I couldn't. I shows up on iTunes, no problem. But when I right click on things to add them to the ipod it doesn't show up under the 'Add to Playlist' category as it used to. I've found that if I select 'Autofil' that will put music onto the ipod, but I have no control over what order they are in. Any rearranging of the order after they load won't take. Also, none of my Audio Books from Audible.com will load onto it at all.
I tried restarting the system, restoring my ipod to factory settings, uninstalling iTunes and then installing it again. I even downloaded and used the Ipod Reset Utility. Nothing works. So, all I can have is random music but none of the Audio Books which were my REASON for getting an ipod in the first place.
Does anyone have any ideas why this might be happening and what I should do about it?
    Thanks,
    Georgia

I'm having a lot of problems with the new iTunes update. I only use the Shuffle for podcasts, while exercising. With the new iTunes, I cannot even load podcast on the Shuffle.
The Autofill features never worked for podcasts, even before the recent update, but at least it was a convenient way to clear my Shuffle. I was able to highlight podcasts, then add them to the Shuffle manually.
Now, the Shuffle does not even show up as an option, just as Georgia Millet described.
Is there a way to roll back iTunes to the older version, until this can be fixed???? This is extremely frustrating.
I may just switch to a different software, if these problems continue...

  • Itunes update has no photo sync button

Where is the photo sync button with the new itunes update?  So how do I sync my photos cuz can't find anywhere the word photos.

I think you forgot to plug in your iDevice. Do this now. This is what I see after I plug in my iphone. I click once on "iphone".
This is what I see when I click on iphone. Notice books and photos are not showing up. They are missing regardless if it is full screen or in a window. Notice there are no scroll bars.
Now after I drag the window to the far left, moving quite a bit of the window off the screen, and expanding the window on the right, I can now see books and photos.
    Hope that helps.

  • The last itunes update has failed - getting error program C:/program files (x86)\itunes\itunes.exe - R6034 attemp tp load C runtime library incorrectlly. I have tried to repair and reinstall. getting same error - can ayone help

the last itunes update failed - getting error R6034 attemp to load C runtime library incorrectly. Program reference - Program C;/prgram files (x86)\tunes\itunes.exe - can anyone help. I tried to use epir and did an uninstall and reinstall and still geting same error

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

itunes updated and after having to go through a mess to fix it (ie) I had to delete all my apple related programs and reinstall itunes (11.1.4.62) to get it to work at all, now my ipod says "unsupported accessory is not supported". How do I fix this so that my Ipod connects to Itunes again?

  • Itunes 7.4.1 update has killed my iTunes store & airTunes

I'm a bit stumped by this one. Yesterday I followed the prompt to update to iTunes 7.4. This morning when I came back to my computer my airTunes speakers weren't connected (first thing I noticed) and then I realised that the iTunes store won't connect either. The error message I get upon trying to connect is:
*iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. The network connection was refused.*
Now, I'm not stupid, so this to me sounds like a pretty obvious firewall issue. However the only firewall I have turned on is the standard Windows XP one and it has an exception for iTunes (and one for Bonjour). In fact I've ever tried turning that firewall off completely and it makes no difference. The error message comes up instantaneously, so it seems as if iTunes isn't even trying to connect to anything.
After noticing that iTunes 7.4.1 had been sneaked out overnight I wondered whether this was a known issue with 7.4.0, and updated. Sadly, it was to no avail.
    Any ideas?

  • 11.2 iTunes update has made me unable to open iTunes. It says "The procedure entry point ADiAdID_AquireMatchSlotIfNecessary could not be located in the dynamic link library iAdCore.dll" I have done everything imaginable! Please help?!

I deleted, reinstalled, searched, enabled, disabled--EVERYTHING and yet iTunes will not open! This is exactly why I hate updates rom Apple because they do this time and time again. I deleted multiple .dll files and nothing has worked. This is a glitch from the newest update 11.2. It says: "The procedure entry point ADiAdID_AquireMatchSlotIfNecessary could not be located in the dynamic link library iAdCore.dll" and I have no idea what the heck that means!
If there is anybody that is having similar issues and know of what the issue might be, please help =[
    Thanks.

Hi, Did you strip out all components, delete the named folders and reboot as in the second box of  Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates?
Checking on my computer here (Windows XP SP3 32 bit) I have one copy of iAdCore.dll in the main \Program Files\iTunes folder with the following properties:
    Size 3,004  KB
    Created 8th May 2014
    Modified 8th May 2014
    File Version 1.0.0.1
    Product Version 1.0.0.1
I'll try to get a look at 64-bit system later to confirm the correct path.

  • ITunes Update has messed up my Windows installation

I just opened iTunes to transfer some files across to an iPhone, and it prompted me to update iTunes, which I agreed to. Upon the update finishing it stated that a system restart was required in order to complete the process. However, after doing this CHKDSK thinks the C drive needs checking and goes through the full check. Upon this completing, the machine again restarts as expected, but Windows will then not boot. It gets to a certain stage of loading (Windows splash loading screen shows for a few seconds), then the PC restarts and gets itself stuck in a loop of trying to start. The only way I can get it to boot is to start in safe mode and then use system restore to get back to a previous configuration. I thought maybe something had gone wrong the first time, so I tried the whole process again, and again I've got the same problem.
Now I feel like the only way I'm going to get this to work is to wipe the machine and start again as something has obviously gone haywire with the hard disk after applying this update. As this is an iPhone, I don't have the luxury of using any other software for transfering files to and from it.
Has anybody else had a similar issue?

Curb the attitude and describe your issues and someone may help.
Here's one to start with, the little grey wheel that went around and around while Mountain Lion and Mavericks got started has been replaced by an blue bar that gets longer. It's normal.

  • HELP- Itunes update has deleted music

I've just updated to Itunes version 7.3.1.3 and my music has gone from 4500 songs to 1800 songs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I can't find them anywhere.
    Thanks

    Thank you.
I've tried that but now all my music has gone
The only Itunes library in there says it was created today.
I'm really concerned now and not sure what to do. This is the last time I'm ever updating Itunes.
    Any suggestions
    Thanks

  • Today's iTunes update has broken iTunes on Windows Server 2008 (64 Bit)

After today's update, iTunes crashes 100% of the time upon launching.
"iTunes has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." is all the info the error window gives. Uninstalled and re-installed 3 times, with exact same results

I updated QuickTime Player. No change in iTunes crashing at launch. If I choose "debug", it brings up the Visual Studios Just-in-time debugger, with a message: "An unhandled Win32 exception occurred in iTunes.exe [4748]

  • ITunes update has hosed the login of my laptop and my elderly Fathers PC ??

My father came home from an oversee's trip and was able to login to his system and all was working fine.  Then two days later an update for iTunes popped up and having an iPhone and iPad he knows, at 84, that he needs this utilities and so he always updates them.
This time it updated and he rebooted as always and since that update he can log back on in the standard login screen of his system.!!!!!!
    iTunes ver 11.0.2.26
    Apple Application Support v 2.3.3
    Apple Mobile Device Support v6.1.0.13
    Applie Software Update v 2.1.3.127
It appears as if a system .dll or core level driver has been damaged or corrupted, since he can only login to safe mode.
Is there a patch version of iTunes that corrects this issue or do you have a registry hack to clear this up in the system services????
I need an urgent reply on what is going on here.

If it boots in safe mode, uninstall iTunes.
    Reboot the computer.
Does it boot normally?  If so, backup the important data on the computer.
Install the current version of iTunes then reboot.
Does it boot normally or does the problem reoccur?
