ITunes update not working due to Bonjour

I'm trying to install the latest update for iTunes, and I keep getting an error message saying something like "the feature you are trying to use is on a network..." (can't remember the rest) and basically it's asking me to choose another location that bonjour.msi is in. The folder is right, the program is there, and it's still not working. As a result, I can't finish the update, I can't access iTunes from my start menu or any icons (I literally have to right click an mp3, hit open with iTunes, and then have it open from there). My iPod is still syncing, but it's not even recognizing my iPhone because it also gives me an Apple Mobile Device Driver error, which I assume is connected to the Bonjour issue, but maybe it's not. HELP. I have already installed the latest version of Bonjour Print Services like I saw in a recent Bonjour thread, but that did nothing for me AT ALL. I'm getting very frustrated with the entire thing because I haven't deleted a thing or changed anything about my computer, and this update is making me beyond angry.

Me three....what's up with iTunes tonight, is there a server problem?  Anyone called Apple???

  • Broke out of the box and itune update not working

Just got apple tv delivered today but it wasn't working out of the box... flashing white light..
So i connected it to itunes via micro usb and itunes won't restore it looks like the .dmg is missing..
This is really bad, surely apple have noticed the software update is missing???
Did this update work for anyone?

It's impossible to know how much work there is putting it back, it sounds simple but it might not be, it's been down a few days now, I suppose it depends on how much inconvenience it is to return it for another.

    please help

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • IPod Sync and iTunes update not working

I plugged my iPod (Touch 3g) into my laptop to sync with my iTunes library and was confronted with the following error message:
"iTunes was unable to load data class information from Sync Services. Reconnect or try later"
I thought I'd update my software to eliminate that as a source of the problem, but Apple Software Update gives me the following error message:
"The Apple Software Update server could not be found. Check your Internet settings and try again."
I've tried restarting my laptop, but both messages remain. I'm guessing the two messages are related to the same issue. Anyone else getting the same and/or have a possible solution?
    Thanks!

  • Software Update not working due to a "networking error"

Hopefully this post is in the correct forum. In trying to run Software Update, I am getting a networking error ("A networking error has occured: time out (-1001). Make sure you can connect to the Internet, then try again."). I can get on the network just fine via Firefox, and my Mobile Me account is syncing to my Address Book and iCal. However, Safari, Mail, and Software Update can't seem to connect. I ran Repair Permissions and Repair Disk (from the 10.5 Install disc), but these did not solve the problem. I also downloaded and ran the 10.5.4 Combo; it appeared to run fine. But subsequently running the Security Update 2008-005 and trying to reinstall Safari failed (both directly downloaded from Apple). Security Update won't let me select the computer hard drive, and Safari tells me that OS 10.5.2 or higher is required (even though I have 10.5.4 installed). I also tried running Software Update from other profiles on the computer to no avail.
Any thoughts as to what is going on here? I'd prefer not to have to reinstall the OS from scratch, but I'm running out of ideas.
    Thanks!

Select the clone tool and try a tool re-set.

  • ITunes updater not working

I already have iTunes, and I've been using iTunes for about a year. When I opened iTunes today, it told me a newer version was avalible, so I clicked yes to install the new iTunes. It came up fine and went through all the normal operations, until it got to the part of the installation where it said "removing backup files". It stayed like that for (literally) 10 minutes. I tried to cancel the operation and restart the iTunes setup shortcut, but the original page won't cancel, and the new page won't cancel the installation. As of right now, I still have my iTunes library, but no iTunes program. I have no idea what to do! Did anyone else here run into that problem or at least install the new iTunes from a previous one?

You might of had antivirus running when you went to update it and it interfered with the install. Uninstall iunes AND quicktime, clean the installer files out by going here and rolling down to "Clean up iTunes installer files on the computer" http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93976
Now turn off/disable antivirus and download/install iTunes off the apple site http://www.apple.com/itunes/download

  • Client update not working due to distribution point

Since upgrading from 2012-SP1-R2 i haven't been able to upgrade the clients, im fairly sure now after a fair amount of research this is down to the distribution point. I would assume that if there was an issue with the distribution point the update wouldn't
    be sent to the clients.

Im fairly sure i have the automatic updated all done, via the Hierarchy settings. Its only when i went to distribute content on one of my packages i realised that the issue might be with the MP/DP as i get "failed to distribute content details will
be available after server finishes processing"
In distmgr.log i get "package ****00002 does not have a preferred sender.
Used 0 out of 3 allow processing threads
In smsdpmon.log There is nothing for months which was my next check.

  • ITunes update - not working

I opened iTunes tonight and got a notification to update. I clicked ok to update and nothing happened. I tried to reopen iTunes and still nothing happened. I went to the iTunes site, got the downloaded and the install failed.  I closed all my programs and tried to restart my MacBook pro (mid 2009 with new Samsung 1TB harddrive). The chime went off and I came to the default boot screen but instead of a normal boot I got a loading bar. Once the bar filled up all ingot was the apple logo and a spinning gear. After waiting a few minutes for my log in screen to show up, I held the power button down to start all over. Same process. Same result. Please can someone help me?

Quickly doublechecking, J. Did you get past that by updating using a .dmg installer downloaded from the Apple Website?

after doing a widows update itunes will not work at all

    hiya!
I get the itunes has encounterd a problem and needs to close, sorry for the inconvenience error, no specific error number. I do not have QT installed,
not having QT installed is what will be causing your itunes error message at the moment. let's try a careful standalone QT 7.1 install.
download and save a copy of the QT 7.1 standalone installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.
    Quicktime 7.1 Standalone Installer
if that install goes through okay, does your itunes launch properly again?
(if you get an error message on the QT standalone reinstall, let us know what it says. include error message numbers if you're getting any.)
    love, b

  • Error R6034 during update. iTunes will not open due to error.

Get Error R6034, Application attmempting to load C runtime library incorrectly.  iTunes will not install ammanulaly and now iTunes will not open due to error.

Try updating your QuickTime Player to the latest version. Does that clear up the DEP errors in iTunes?

  • Mac Book Software Update not working, iTune will not update because of that, iPhone 4 won't connect to iTunes because iTunes is not updated. Mac v.10.5.8, iTunes v.10.5.2, iPhone4 iOS 6

Mac Book Software Update not working (Software Update does not have any new software for your computer at this time), my current MacBook version is 10.5.8.
As a result I can't update iTunes, version 10.5.2  (This software requiers Mac OS X version 10.6.8 or later)
Now when I connect my iPhone 4, version iOS 6 iTunes can't connect to iPhone (The iPhone "XXXXX's iPhone" cannot be used because it requiers iTunes version 10.6.3 or later.)
so in a nutshell can't use iphone 4, because iTune is not updated and will not  update because Mac Book is not up to date and will not update either.
    Please help.
