Itunes update on windows 8

I updated itunes on my PC running on windows 8 as prompted to do so by my computer. I re booted both my computer and ipod. Now my computer will not recognize my ipod touch in itunes. Never had this problem before, only when I updated the itunes when prompted. Any advice please? Please keep it simple and jargon free if pos, I am new to this? Thanks.
itunes can't see the device. itunes always used to open up automatically when I pluged in the ipod. My computer still sees the device and also charges it.

Try going into the control panel, programs, add/remove programs (you get to the control panel by hovering your mouse in the lower right corner of your comptuer)
Uninstall
Itunes
Apple mobile device service
apple application support
then re-download and reinstall iTunes and try again.
If that doesn't work there are further steps you can take but they're a bit more complicated.

How do I manually transfer music with the new itunes update for Windows?  I don't want to sync my library and lose all of my music for what I have in my current library.

The same way it was done in every previous version.
Connect the device to the computer.
Right click on the device in iTunes and select Transfer Purchases.
Why would you lose any content by syncing with iTunes?
Is this not the computer that the device is normally synced with?

  • ITunes Update for Windows Vista 64 bit

Does anybody know when this is going to be released. I got an iPhone and can't sync it with the latest version of Windows Vista. The friendly staff at AT&T forgot to tell me that I would not be able to use my iPhone until iTunes came out with an update for Windows Vista.
    Thank You.

  • Itunes update and Windows 8

After I downloaded new itunes update, Info page where I select where and what to sync is truncated so I cannot select anything other than contacts and parts of calendar to sync.  The result is that on my iphone Reminders become Outlook Calendar and all Notes are erased.  Please help.

There is an alternative downloader for 64-bit editions of Windows here:
iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards)
that seems to address the playback issues that some users have been reporting with the full 64-bit version (the alternative installer here is the same architecture as most previous "64-bit" versions of iTunes, i.e., a 32-bit application with a 64-bit installer).  The "for older video cards" label appears to be something of a misnomer as some people have reported that this corrects problems found on current / high-spec systems.
Some users have reported that after installing this alternative version it is necessary to adjust the "Play audio using:" selection (normally to "Direct Sound" rather than "Windows Audio Session", though this may vary based on your audio hardware/drivers) in Edit > Preferences > Playback to restore glitch-free audio.

  • ITunes updating crashing windows?

This is third time I'm typing due to some unknown error apple website is showing me.
It's hard to type whole thing again and again.
I happen to follow the lates iTunes update notification for windows and installed. It asked me to restart and after restart the screen is blank no response. After waiting for a while, I reset and windows want to repair, which also didn't work. But later when I switch on the pc it started windows normally.
In meanwhile I was trying to look for support for the same through my ipad. I didn't find, no actually apple didn't mention any email support in their website. Instead they ask me to open a case which again asks me mac serial number. Lol.
Since then I am trying to type this thread and it get error to post.
Anyone please guide to ge email support for such situation if I get next time. Phone numbers won't help bcos I'm in travelling and sometimes it will be midnight.
    Thanks and regards

  • Can't install iTunes update on Windows XP 5.1

    Hello
Hope someone can help. I downloaded the installation manager for the new iTunes update but when I go to intall it I get a message that says:
    Internet Connection Error
We're unable to connect to the download server. It seems that your internet connection is down or firewalled.
Please check your Internet and Proxy settings and then click the "Try Again" button below.
It's clearly a firewall issue - a couple of other programs I want to install also hit the buffers as soon as they try to connect to the internet. I've turned my Windows Firewall off and rebooted and still nothing. Any suggestions anyone? I'm using Windows XP 5.1 by the way.

    Hey jeffersonlake,

  • ITunes update crashed windows, no bootable hard drive

When I went to shut down my computer last night, there was an iTunes update.  I clicked ok, then put the computer on the table.  Next thing I know, I get the dreaded blue screen with a bunch of characters, saying, I think, Windows has encountered an error.  It tried to re-boot, but said that there was no bootable drive.  Naturally, I panicked.  Ran the entire Pre-boot check, everything passed.  Tried to re-boot, same thing happened.  Frustrated, I turned my machine off, then back on and everything appears to be ok.  However, I'm afraid to try the update again.  Any suggestions?

I believe you boot your windows and update immediately will help.  Sometimes when windows run for a period of time, the system is unstable. Then when you install something, it may crash windows.  So anytime install a software, reboot windows first to ensure system clean.

  • Why won't my iPhone work after latest iTunes update on Windows XP?

Not the most technically savy guy. Tried to sync my iPhone on my computer like I have plenty of other times before, but got a warning message saying that the hardware that I was attempting to install has not been verified through Windows XP (or something to that effect). Now, my iPhone will not work. The screen only shows the USB icon and iTunes icon with arrow in between signaling to connect to iTunes.... it is already connected to my computer!

I have a trick to resolve this problem ; uninstall all programs which make up itune such as iTunes,Apple Application Support ,Apple Mobile Device Support ,Apple Software Update and Bonjour. After uninstalling those programs, download and reinstall the current version iTunes. It can help you to sync your iphone with iTune.

  • Error 2234 when installing latest itunes update on Windows 7

How do I clear error 2234 so latest update can be installed with Windows 7

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Itunes update and windows 7 help please!!!!

I am trying to update iTunes to version 10.7. I have windows 7. I keep getting an error code: the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Any suggestions?

    That's perfect, thanks.
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • ITunes update on Windows XP

I am trying to update my iTunes version, but I just can't because of a certain key which I don't have access to. Do you know what can I do? Thanks!

Here's a cut and paste of the content from the user tip. Can you see the images in this post?
    Symptoms
When installing iTunes for Windows on a 64-bit Windows Vista or Windows 7 system, you may see a "Could not open key" error message citing a registry key of the form UNKNOWN\Components\[LongStringOfLettersAndNumbers]\[LongStringOfLettersAndNumbe rs]. For example:
    Could not open key:
    UNKNOWN\Components\DA42BC89BF25F5BD0AF18C3B9B1A1EE8
    \b25099274a207264182f8181add555d0.
Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel
    Resolution
Note that the following procedure involves a registry edit. Back up your registry prior to proceeding.
    (1) Do a complete uninstall of iTunes and related software components as per the instructions in the following document (but do not attempt to reinstall iTunes just yet):
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
    (2) Launch Regedit as an administrator. In your Start Search field, type regedit. Right-click on the Regedit entry that comes up and select "Run as administrator" as per the following screenshot:
    (3) In the left-hand pane of Regedit, click the triangle next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE to expand its contents.
    (4) Expand the contents of SOFTWARE
    (5) Expand the contents of Microsoft
    (6) Expand the contents of Windows
    (7) Expand the contents of CurrentVersion
    (8) Expand the contents of Installer
    (9) Expand the contents of UserData
    (10) Expand the contents of S-1-5-18
    (11) Right-click on Components and select "Permissions" as per the following screenshot:
    (12) In the "Permissions for Components" screen that comes up, click the Advanced button:
    (13) In the "Advanced Security Settings for Components" screen that comes up, click the "Owner" tab.
    (14) In the "Owner" tab, check the "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects tickbox, select "Administrators" and click Apply:
(14a) If (after clicking Apply) you receive a "Registry Editor could not set owner on the key currently selected, or some of its subkeys" message, click OK:
    (15) Click OK in the "Advanced Security Settings for Components" screen.
    (16) Click OK in the "Permissions for Components" screen.
    (17) Quit out of Regedit.
    (18) Try installing iTunes using the latest version of the iTunes installer downloaded from the Apple website:
