ITunes update to 10.5 not working and stopped other programs?
I tried to update my iTunes today to 10.5 ready to update my iPhone to the iOS 5, but now its ruined everything!
It said that it didn't download properly and to uninstall and try again so I did, a lot.
Now, Safari and my Microsoft Office programs wont work either.
It keeps saying 'side-by-side configuration' isn't there or something.
I don't understand why it's doing this.
Help with getting itunes and safari back?
I've tried restarting the computer numerous times and system reboot/restore but no luck.

I have tried 6 times to follow the step by step instruction to get this down load complete, failed everytime. Customer service suck. Called 5 times and got to speak with one person during all those calls. All he did was sent email to me regarding the complete uninstall instructions for the i tunes system. I followed every instruction line by line, again 5 times and got absolutley nothing. Been working on this since Tuesday. Ready to throw phone out the window. Does anyone else have a solution that will actually work.

My 1-year ipod nano locked up and would not start overnight. The on/off button will not work and stopped holding charge. No water damage, no fall, nothing unusual. I restored it (twice) but it will still not hold charge and on/off does not work. I tried to restore it again and charged it in three different locations with different cables. etc but nothing. Suggestions?
- After charging for 1/2 hour or so, does iTunes see the iPod? If yes, restore the iPod from backup.
- If no, se if placing the iPod in recovery mode will make it visible so you can restore the iPod. For recovery mode see:

I attempted to perform the itunes update on two different PCs. Itunes will no longer open and prompted me to reinstall itunes. The reinstall did not work after several attempts and I received an error: "Runtime error R6034. An application has made an attempt to load the C Runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the application's support team for more information." Has anyone else had this issue? How can I resolve it?
I've been having the same exact problem this morning, and from the looks of it a lot of other people are posting about this issue, so I don't know if it's maybe something wrong with the download but I'm just relieved that it seems to be that instead of a corruption issue with my windows installation. I'm just wondering how long this will take to be resolved.

ITunes 10.5.1.42 not working and ejecting iPod on it's own!
Recently, I downloaded the latest iTunes, I plugged in my iPod (I have an 7g 160gb one) and the first thing I noticed, was that it stuck in verifyng, so, I unninstalled the software, reinstalled, and it was working fine, but two days after that, it went right to the syncing and at any given time it will tell me "The song could not be synced to the ipod because of an unkown error -50/-69" iTunes also updated on my netbook, and now it's giving me the same issue. The iPod just sort of ejects on its own, because the battery meter on screer will turn on and of as if it were connecting/disconnecting. And it was working really fine till the latest update of iTunes 10.5.1.42. What can I do?

After Windows 10 Pro N succesfull update all Network Adapters not working and not showing up
Hi all, After succesfully installing the new Windows 10 Pro N onto my Windows 8.1 Pro N operating system and restarting the system, I realized that all drivers are migrated succesfully, withouht any incompatibility issue, but none of the network adapters were working, so no WiFi, no LAN connection was ready to be used, checking the list of available network adapters showed an empty list. I am using a ThinkPad T520 laptop. I have tried to update all drivers from a USB, had several restarts, but no result. Any ideas I could use to get Windows 10 up-n-running with network connections? I downloaded the latest update from a few days ago 1/22/2014. Now my Iphone isnt being registered by Itunes. The computer recognizes it and it charges the phone.

My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc. -
Imac G3 clock not working - and some other questions
This iMac is starting to act slow, especially browsing with FireFox. Also, the clock will not hold its time. Won't browse at all with IE or Safari. Well, Safari will sorta work - but for some reason automatically downloads FAD messages on desktop.
Does this computer just need a new battery for the clock? Also, will that battery also improve the general sluggishness?
What battery does it need and how can I replace it?
Also, regarding browsing - there are less and less browsers that work with this computer. I'd like to upgrade (currently using 10.2.8) but not sure if it can handle an upgrade. Will it actually start handling even slower because an upgraded OS is wearing it down? Any suggestions? More computer info listed below:

Thanks for any feedback/suggestions on both the clock issue and improving browsing sluggishness.You can run the top command in the terminal to get an idea about system and memory usage.
Macintosh-HD -> Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal
type
top -u
then press enter and you will some memory stats. The display is hard to digest, but if you watch for awhile (days) you will get some hints.
Look for this line. The number in yours will be different.
PhysMem: 58.8M wired, 101M active, 271M inactive, 431M used, 336M free
so
wired + active + inactive = used
used + free = installed memory (768 off by a meg )
336M free means total unused memory. I have lots of free memory.
The next line
VM: 4.22G + 118M 22499(0) pageins, 0(0) pageouts
VM is virtual memory.
You notice I have 0(0) pageouts which says that I am not using my harddrive for extra memory space. 0 is the total (0) is this time period
Hence, I would not benefit from more memory.
You could post your number here for comments.
Mac OS 10.2 doesn't do the best job of cleaning up after itself. Perhaps a little housekeeping would help.

Perhaps you should try running the periodic jobs. These jobs are run daily weekly monthly to do general system maintenance. These jobs will clean up the logs.
Macintosh-HD -> Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal
sudo periodic daily weekly monthly
Note: Enter your logon password. You need to be logoned on with an administrator id.
Maybe you should try one of these general clean up programs. You might backup your system before pounding too hard. I'd repair permissions as suggested earlier.

ITunes 12.1.1 does NOT work with Windows - Fix??

I had issue after issue with the latest iTunes update (12.1.1) not working on my windows 7. It simply would not lunch when clicking on the shortcut to open.
After a fair bit of searching I found this alternative version which seemed to do the trick and now it works:
iTunes 12.1.1.4 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - iTunes64Setup.exe(2015-02-18)The "for older video cards" installer - which, like most prior "64 bit" versions of iTunes, is actually a 32 bit application with a 64 bit installer - may be a useful fallback if the full 64 bit version does not install or run correctly. Although 12.1.1.4 is a major improvement over 12.1.0.71, there are clearly still some lurking incompatibilities with some 64 bit Windows systems/components. It is, however, a little misleading to say that "iTunes 12.1.1 does NOT work with Windows" - in many cases it works fine without switching to the alternative version. I have the full 64-bit version of 12.1.1.4 running on three systems - two Windows 7 and one Windows 8.1 - no issues with either installation or operation on any of them.

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

Since updating my iPad several weeks ago I can no longer open iTunes or view or read books on my bookshelf. I took my iPad to Apple at The Trafford Centre where I was advised to restore my pad. This I did using our imac and hopefully saved my software.. The restore did not work and now my pad will still not open iTunes and I no longer have my apps. What can I do to get my purchased books etc. back and open iTunes again?
Most of your purchases content can be downloaded again via the Purchased tabs in each of the store. I realize that this will be a problem for the iTunes Store on the iPad, but that has nothing to do with apps, since apps are in the App Store.
If you backed up synced with iTunes before you restored the iPad, your content should be in iTunes on your Mac and you should be able to sync it back again. -
Dear Sirs,when i use the computer updating my iphone to ios 7.1,suddenly black out.The computer has no power and my iphone does not work and keep display the screen saying the iphone need to connect to itunes. So when i connect my iphone to iTunes, the computer says"itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. you must restore this iphone before it can be used with itunes"
So my question is if I click OK(restore the iphone),will i lose all my data and whatsapp??

hopelessIf you didn't back up the phone to iCloud or iTunes (on your computer) BEFORE attempting the update, the data will be lost.

I updated my iPhone 3G today and after the update it said on iTunes that my sim was not compatible and my iPhone screen went on to slide for emergency/connect to itunes. Ive tried restoring it but it hasnt worked. Please help!
Unless the iPhone was purchased as unlocked very recently directly from an Apple Store (the only place in the US where unlocked iPhones are sold, and then only since June), which from the symptoms I doubt is the case, then it was locked to AT&T and jailbroken to make it work with an Irish cell carrier. Updating the operating system has now relocked the iPhone back to AT&T.
Only the cell carrier can institute an official unlock, one which will hold across updates of the operating system, and AT&T will not do so for any reason. All we can advise here is that you return the iPhone to your uncle and purchase an iPhone there in Ireland.

I just updated my Ipad 2 to IOS 7, now it is asking me for a passcode. I never set a passcode on my Ipad, so how can I enter a passcode. Earlier today I upgraded my Iphone 5 to IOS 7 and it asked me to set a passcode, which now works fine on my Phone. I tried using the OIS7 passcode I use on my Iphone 5 and it did not work and now my Ipad is disabled. Both devices are on icloud and share the same apple id. The Ipad screen says slide to set up but then there is a prompt for passcode, not for setting up passcode
I called Apple Support and a supervisor helped resolve this for me on my iPad. I suggest calling them for help as this is obviously an issue with the iOS 7 update - she helped me without charge. I could be missing something in my upcoming description, so do not take this as complete - call them.
I had to update iTunes on my Mac Air to the latest version, and I had an iCloud backup from the day I updated to iOS7. Have iTunes open but do NOT connect your iPad yet. Shut down the iPad. Then press/hold the Home key on the iPad while you connect the USB from the iPad to the computer (an image of the USB cable appeared on the iPad). Follow the prompts in iTunes to restore and then backup using iCloud. When the iPad rebooted again to do the backup install, I got the same pass code issue and iTunes would not recognize the iPad without entering a pass code. I disconnected the iPad, turned it off, pressed the Home key while connecting the USB cable. When I did the restore and backup from iCloud the second time, it worked without the pass code issue occurring.
