ITunes update to 11.1.4.62 has Outlook 2007 conflict

I updated iTunes this evening and had significant problems and had to go through the complete uninstall/reinstall process as outlined in this thread.
(Windows 7, 64 bit)
https://discussions.apple.com/message/24627930?ac_cid=tw123456#24627930
I finally got iTunes installed, however, it has affected Outlook 2007 with some collateral damage.
Outlook takes a long, long, long, long time to open and stalls out.
(I understand why iTunes is linked (for contact/calendar) syncing with mobile devices).
Fortunately, my iPhone will sync, however, would like to get my Outlook back to normal performance.
Thanks in advance for any help.

turingtest2 solved my Outlook problem when I posted about it on another thread re this recent hassle update.
Removing the MobileMe control panel worked!

Might be nothing, but I've seen a couple of posts related to Outlook issues and the discontinued MobileMe service. If still have the MobileMe control panel then you should probably remove it. See HT2992: MobileMe: Uninstalling the MobileMe Control Panel for Windows for details.     tt2

  • After updating to 3.6.10 links in Outlook 2007 no longer open - "An error occurred in sending the command to the application"

After updating to Firefox 3.6.10 this morning, Outlook 2007 can no longer open up links embedded in emails. Normally when you clicked a link it would open up Firefox and send you to the website, but when you click on any link it now says:
General failure. The URL was: [url here]
An error occurred in sending the command to the application.
I don't know what happened. I didn't change any other settings on the computer.

  • Issue on sync for iPhone4S(iOS6.1) with iTune Ver11.3.1.2 to Win7 and Outlook 2007

Hi Fans of iPhone, Anyone can advise? Thanks a lot.
After I synchronized my iPhone4S (iOS6.1) with iTune Version 11.3.1.2 to my PC (Chinese Win 7 and Outlook 2007), then most 95% of Contact's phone number be also disappeared in my iPhone & Outlook.
Additional Info: While it was synchronizing the iPhone in between, iTunes did ever showed the option dialog such as "Cancel" and "Combined Information (M)" and "Cancel Information (R)". I clicked the button of "Combined Information (R)" then.
As a resul, it is being only showed the each Profile's Contact's name without the phone number in both of iPhone4S and Outlook2007, affected over 95% contact profiles' in my iPhone and Microsoft Outlook. It affected as I lost most of all contact persons' phone number. Seriously, it affect my life and mental. Please advise for help to fix and  advise urgently. Million Thanks!!!

    Hello kylhk,
I would start with looking to when you had a back up before the issue with your contacts. If you do, then I would recommend to restore your iPhone and put that back up back on to get your contacts back. Check out the article below for the steps on how to do that.

  • Itunes update to 10.6.0.40  has reset all my genres

I just got an Ipad and so had to update Itunes to version 10.6.0.40 to connect the Ipad. Once it'd updated, registered me at the Itunes store and connected with the Ipad (not synced as I unticked those settings) I found it had changed most of my Itunes song genres.
I've spent ages getting the genres right and now its changed them to non-specific and silly things like 'folk rock', 'folk/rock', 'unknown', ' ' & other generic & unwanted genres which weren't what I'd set up originally.
Not all genres have changed but a good number have.
I haven't synced my ipod with itunes yet, and won't until someone can tell me how to rescue this and re-set all my genres on Itunes.
Can anyone help me please. I really don't want to have to go through all 11,000 songs to check & correct the genres.
Also any way to prevent this happening every time Itunes is updated?
    Thanks

Restore the backup copy of your library from before the update?
iTunes doesn't attempt to silently "correct" your metadata, however Windows Media Player can, and if it has done so then what has probably happened is that during the upgrade to iTunes it rescanned your media and updated its own records where they didn't match the metadata in the file.
If I'm right the damage is done and there really isn't anything you can do to reverse it. See this post for tips on how to avoid it happening again.
See this User Tip for a backup strategy.

  • Itunes stuck on calendar when sync with outlook 2007

iTunes get stuck on sync with calendar from outlook 2007 windows 7.  I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled old version, no change. I updated iphone to 7.1.2 and created a new user on my pc, installed iTunes, told me I was not authorized to sync, and then synced to my other user calendar, not the new user.  When I switch back to the original user and try to sync, it gets stuck again on the calendars.
All of this worked until a few weeks ago and I did not do any updates to either the iphone, or iTunes until today, BUT Microsoft did a security update to office on 6/12/14 to my pc.
Does anyone have any advice?  I really need my calendars in sync!!
    Thanks-

I had no problem with 7.6.1 and Outlook syncing, so either Apple is targeting you specifically, or something else changed on your computer. Further, there have been reports that 7.6.1 FIXED some Outlook syncing problems.
Check the obvious first; is Outlook still the default application for mail, contacts and calendar? (Look in the Outlook options.)
As the problem occurred when you installed 7.6.1 the next thing to try is to uninstall iTunes completely, then download and install a clean copy. See this tip for removal instructions:

There seem to be several Outlook-focused apps here:

Not free but modest in cost it seems. Must get via the iTunes App store, where there is info and reviews.

  • With Windows Vista, the most recent Itunes update 1/30/2014 has caused Itunes not to work, with a Mscvr80.dll not found error. Uninstalled all Apple programs, and installed fresh Itunes. Same problem. Tried to reinstall using an older install exe nogo

Recent ITunes update has caused ITunes not to work. Tried uninstalling all Apple products and reinstalling fresh. Still doesn't work. Tried reinstalling from an old install.exe. Install went nicely but program won't start as it says it can't open the library file.

Now that I have no way of accessing any of the products I have purchased from ITunes, I will most certainly never use ITunes again for any reason. Why throw good money after bad?  I will use another MP3 player that is not as cumbersome or proprietary.
    Lesson learned.

  • ITunes update 11.0.2 has broken my iTunes, won't even open

I plugged in my iPhone to sync and recharge when the notification popped up that an update for iTunes was available.  When first attempting to downloaded the 11.0.2 iTunes update, it got to the end of downloading and then gave me an unspecific error message.  I shut everything down, restarted, and my second try at downloading the update worked.  Now upon attempting to open iTunes, however, nothing happens--just the old 'iTunes quit unexpectedly' and the prompt to submit an error report.  I read that there might be a problem with firewall, but my firewall is turned off.  I read that there might be a problem with McAfee anti-virus programs, but I don't have one.  Another suggestion was uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes though Terminal, which I did next.  Upon launching, same problem 'iTunes unexpected quit' and a prompt to send the error report.  In trying to sync, my iPhone now also doesn't work--seems to be locked trying to restore since iTunes has bugged out.  Help?

    Great Sleuthing, Rich!

Error 23, 28, 29: These errors may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow the steps in this article. Also attempt to restore while connected with the white USB Dock Connector cable that shipped with your device, on a known good computer and network to isolate this issue to the device. The MAC address being missing or the IMEI being the default value, (00 499901 064000 0), can also confirm a hardware issue. Out-of-date or incorrectly configured security software can also cause these errors.

Just did the iTunes update that iTunes said was available, now iTunes won't open.  I just keep getting a Runtime Error message.
    R6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.  Please contact the apps support team for more info.
Is anyone else having this problem?
I tried to re-install and got the following message:  iTunes was not installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes.  Error 7 (Windows error 1114)
Does this mean I have now lost everything?

I just had the same error:
    R6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.  Please contact the apps support team for more info.
I went to http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925 and did a complete removal and reinstallation of iTunes. You MUST follow the directions here exactly...it's more than just iTunes that must be removed, and it MUST be done in the order in which the support article says.  I followed the exact instructions, and iTunes is back on my machine (no more C runtime error) and you do NOT lose your music...it's all in my library, as it was before.
    Good luck!

    Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
    When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.
    Error 1600, 1601, 1602
Follow the steps listed above for Error 1604. This error may also be resolved by disabling, deactivating, or uninstalling third-party security, antivirus, and firewall software. See steps in this article for details on troubleshooting security software.

  • I just downloaded the latest itunes update 11.1 and now I get an error messages saying "The item 'iTunes.exe' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly."

I just downloaded the latest itunes update 11.1 for windows 7 and now when I try to open itunes with the shortcut on my desktop I get this error message: "The item 'itunes.exe' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly."  I can't open itunes at all.  Is there anything I can do or is there a problem with the new update?

    Start > Programs = Firefox
    Does that shortcut work?
If so, delete the current shortcut that is in the Quick Start tray and drag the one that is in Start > Programs down there.
