ITunes updating crashing windows?

This is third time I'm typing due to some unknown error apple website is showing me.
It's hard to type whole thing again and again.
I happen to follow the lates iTunes update notification for windows and installed. It asked me to restart and after restart the screen is blank no response. After waiting for a while, I reset and windows want to repair, which also didn't work. But later when I switch on the pc it started windows normally.
In meanwhile I was trying to look for support for the same through my ipad. I didn't find, no actually apple didn't mention any email support in their website. Instead they ask me to open a case which again asks me mac serial number. Lol.
Since then I am trying to type this thread and it get error to post.
Anyone please guide to ge email support for such situation if I get next time. Phone numbers won't help bcos I'm in travelling and sometimes it will be midnight.
Thanks and regards
Anil

  • ITunes update crashed windows, no bootable hard drive

When I went to shut down my computer last night, there was an iTunes update.  I clicked ok, then put the computer on the table.  Next thing I know, I get the dreaded blue screen with a bunch of characters, saying, I think, Windows has encountered an error.  It tried to re-boot, but said that there was no bootable drive.  Naturally, I panicked.  Ran the entire Pre-boot check, everything passed.  Tried to re-boot, same thing happened.  Frustrated, I turned my machine off, then back on and everything appears to be ok.  However, I'm afraid to try the update again.  Any suggestions?

I believe you boot your windows and update immediately will help.  Sometimes when windows run for a period of time, the system is unstable. Then when you install something, it may crash windows.  So anytime install a software, reboot windows first to ensure system clean.

  • How do I manually transfer music with the new itunes update for Windows?  I don't want to sync my library and lose all of my music for what I have in my current library.

How do I manually transfer music with the new itunes update for Windows?  I don't want to sync my library and lose all of my music for what I have in my current library.

The same way it was done in every previous version.
Connect the device to the computer.
Right click on the device in iTunes and select Transfer Purchases.
Why would you lose any content by syncing with iTunes?
Is this not the computer that the device is normally synced with?

  • ITunes Update crashed my PC, now I can't boot

I recently installed an iTunes update. During the install, it crashed my PC. Now I can not boot. It loads fine untill right before the logon screen. It just displays a blank screen after that. Same thing happens with Safe Mode, Normal, and Last known Good Config.
I was also typing my homework which I will not be able to turn in on time now. Thanks a lot Apple.
Also... The speakers in my iPod's earbuds blew in about 10 seconds. I was listing at about 40% volume. About a week later the rubber on the earbuds started peeling off. I got better earbuds with my $40 SanDisk MP3 player, they even had gold plugs.

  • ITunes Update for Windows Vista 64 bit

Does anybody know when this is going to be released. I got an iPhone and can't sync it with the latest version of Windows Vista. The friendly staff at AT&T forgot to tell me that I would not be able to use my iPhone until iTunes came out with an update for Windows Vista.
    Thank You.

  • Itunes update and Windows 8

After I downloaded new itunes update, Info page where I select where and what to sync is truncated so I cannot select anything other than contacts and parts of calendar to sync.  The result is that on my iphone Reminders become Outlook Calendar and all Notes are erased.  Please help.

There is an alternative downloader for 64-bit editions of Windows here:
iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards)
that seems to address the playback issues that some users have been reporting with the full 64-bit version (the alternative installer here is the same architecture as most previous "64-bit" versions of iTunes, i.e., a 32-bit application with a 64-bit installer).  The "for older video cards" label appears to be something of a misnomer as some people have reported that this corrects problems found on current / high-spec systems.
Some users have reported that after installing this alternative version it is necessary to adjust the "Play audio using:" selection (normally to "Direct Sound" rather than "Windows Audio Session", though this may vary based on your audio hardware/drivers) in Edit > Preferences > Playback to restore glitch-free audio.

  • Can't install iTunes update on Windows XP 5.1

    Hello
Hope someone can help. I downloaded the installation manager for the new iTunes update but when I go to intall it I get a message that says:
    Internet Connection Error
We're unable to connect to the download server. It seems that your internet connection is down or firewalled.
Please check your Internet and Proxy settings and then click the "Try Again" button below.
It's clearly a firewall issue - a couple of other programs I want to install also hit the buffers as soon as they try to connect to the internet. I've turned my Windows Firewall off and rebooted and still nothing. Any suggestions anyone? I'm using Windows XP 5.1 by the way.

  • Videos cause iTunes to crash (Windows Vista)

Hi, I'm a new user here, although I've been using iTunes for a long time. Recently I decided to use the iTunes store to buy a video for the first time, only to find that, A.) every time I try to play the video, iTunes immediately crashes ("iTunes has stopped working",) and B.) I can't play it on any other media player other than iTunes or QuickTime, thanks to DRM, and both choke and die instead of playing the video. The video will work on my other computer with XP, (albeit choppily,) so I know there's nothing wrong with the video files.
I looked through FAQ's both on the Apple site and on Google, and followed the instructions presented, but nothing works other than reinstalling iTunes, (I tried downgrading to an earlier version, but it wouldn't let me open iTunes because it said that the library had been made for an updated version.) Reinstalling iTunes works until I restart my computer, at which point the same problem occurs again.
As per the instructions on the Apple site, I went into QuickTime in the control panel and set video to "Safe Mode (GDI Only)," but the problem persists. Disabling ReadyBoost didn't make a difference either, so I reenabled it.
I've read that storing the video files on a SATA drive can cause problems similar to this. What is a SATA drive, and is there a way for me to move it to a different drive?
Barring that, I'm afraid I'll have to find a different source for videos, one that will allow me to play them on more versatile and hardy media players.

Same problem here. Things were working fine until I upgraded to iTunes 8.1. Now, I am unable to play any .m4v video in iTunes or QT; however, I am able to play non-DRM .mp4 just fine. I believe that the issue must be codec related, but I have not identified the offender. Leave it to Apple to sell you a product that can only work on their system, but won't work on their system.
Anyone having information as to WHY I cannot play DRM that I PAID for in a program DESIGNED ONLY FOR THAT DRM, please let me know as it is appreciated.

  • Since the Itunes update on Windows 8 yesterday all the music crackles. I've tried deleting the new version of itunes and reinstalling it, but the crackles are still there. Does anyone have a solution?

  • Ipod Classic 120GB wont import CDs after 10.1 iTunes update - crashes

    Hi there
I recently updated my Itunes to version 10.1 with Windows 7
Ever since then if I try and rip a CD to my library it crashes as soon as I hit the "import CD" button.
I get a message saying "iTunes has stopped working and needs to close" or something to that effect "cannot complete this function"
I have ejected CDs, turned iTunes on and off again but it still does the same thing.
I checked my updates in iTunes and it says I ha e the most up to date version.
This was not a problem last week before I updated.
Can anyone help please? Many thanks

I get a message saying "iTunes has stopped working and needs to close"
First we need to check your precise version number. In iTunes go "Help > About iTunes", and wait for the version number to scroll up from the bottom of the screen.
Does it say *iTunes 10.1.0.54* ? If so, we need to get you updated to version 10.1.0.56 .
Version 10.1.0.56 likely won't appear for you in Apple Software Update if you have 10.1.0.54 installed. So you'll need to get the 10.1.0.56 installer from the Apple Website, as per the following document:
[iTunes 10.1 for Windows: iTunes may stop working and need to quit while importing or syncing audio|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3591]

  • ITunes Store Crashes Windows 8.1 | QTMovieWin.dll fix did NOT work

I am running iTunes 11.1.3 on Windows 8.1 64 bit. iTunes and the iTunes Store worked prior to my upgrade to from Windows 8 to 8.1. Every time I attempt to access the iTunes Store or anything associated with it, iTunes crashes. I have tried the QTMovieWin.dll fix by thurdy, which failed to work. I have also attempted booting iTunes into safe mode, loading iTunes under another user in Windows, and have checked for third-party plug-ins. None of this has worked. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks.

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)
