ITunes Upgrade (7.3.0.54 to 7.3.1) Error Message
Installed Version 7.3.0.54 to use with iPhone. First time install of iTunes on this computer. Install went off without a hitch. Has worked fine since 7.3 was released/installed on 6/29/07.
Upgraded Quicktime, at its request, to version 7.1.6 a few days ago. Upgrade went fine and program works.
Using iTunes when check for updates, it starts out checking for updates and then windows vista error box opens advising that iTunes has stopped working and needs to close. I can restart/open program and all other functions of iTunes works fine, only prob is when try to check for update.
Quicktime also works fine.
Thanks

Thanks. Tried the Repair option. Went fine. However, still same problem when try to run update within iTunes.
Okay. Let's try swapping out your Apple Software Update altogether.
Go back into your Add/remove Programs. This time, select Apple Software Update, and click the "Remove" button.
Now navigate to C:\Program files\Apple Software update (or to wherever your program files directory is kept on the PC). If there's still an "Apple Software Update" folder in there, right-click on the "Apple Software Update"
folder and select "Delete".
Reboot the PC. Now head back into Add/Remove programs and do a repair install of iTunes. (That should reinstall Apple Software Update for you again.)
Reboot the PC, launch iTunes again, and try another check for updates. Do you get the error message again with a brand spanking new ASU in place?

When I hook my ipod up to my mac I used to get the Itunes has detected an ipod that appears to be corrupted error message. It would then sync all my song to the ipod but when I ejected it, none of the songs would be on the ipod. Now I hook it up and I get the Mac OS X can't repair the disk error message. Then the spinning colored pinwheel pops up and I can't use iTunes. Please HELP!!!!!!
Sounds like your iPod is broken. Take it to Apple or someone else who repairs iPods and see if you can get it fixed, or get it replaced.

Initially iTunes would not run although it had been running quite well up until now. Suddenly received this error on PC start-up "The program can't start because MSVC80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." Research on Net pointed me to iTunes as the issue. Tried to start iTunes and received that message again. Tried installing latest version of 64-bit iTunes and received the subject message part way through the install: Trying to install latest iTunes for Windows 7 64-bit. Keep getting this error message "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."
iTunes has been running great on this PC for years. What's up?

hi I recently dropped my ipod touch and now it wont connect to itunes. Everytime i plug it in, i get an error message saying that the usb device is not recognized
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

ITunes new version doesn't open at all. Gives error message
I downloaded 7.4.3 version of iTunes and it doesn't open at all. Gives error message. "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close."
I have previous version of iTunes in my spare HD, in the same computer, and it works perfectly fine.
I have unistalled and re-installed again and again many times including with the help of Apple Support help in the phone and came up with no clues of what's going on.
How can I get a previous version of iTunes to download to my PC? I have looking for a place on Apple's website where I could probably have my issue resolved, but I found nothing.
Thank you. Thanks to Jim Zack, the problem is solved.
