iTunes upgraded without asking me. WhenI opened iTunes I simply got a message that the library was upgrading with no way of exiting. It didn't only upgrade the library, it upgraded iTunes from 9 to 11, and screwed the library in the process. I want to get 9 back. Is that possible?
You can restore much of the look & feel of the previous version with these shortcuts:
ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
If you don't like having different coloured background & text in the Album view use Edit > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.
If you still feel the need to roll back to iTunes 10.7 first download a copy of the 32 bit installer or 64 bit installer as appropriate, uninstall iTunes and supporting software, i.e. Apple Application Support & Apple Mobile Device Support. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below, then install iTunes 10.7.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.

Just upgraded to Firefox 18 (windows 7 desktop). Why does Firefox change layouts/settings without asking the user if he wants it or not???
I am getting sick of those changes. I want to have at the google main page the options (as before) to search in all languages, or pages from a certain language or pages in a certain language (of course depening of the google address; f.i. at google.de for german languages, google.fr for french languages etc).
In the latest Firefox 17 it was working as I wanted and described before: when I visited www.google.de/firefox of www.google.fr/firefox. Now those 3 options (under the search bar) are gone and I do not want to operate by clicking on the advanced search button. Those things should be visible under the search bar again.
Also my STARTPAGE was GONE/DELETED after the update !!! Grrrrr.... Updating is OK but mozilla should not change user configured items !!!!!!!
The above described problem has nothing to do with the google website.By the way, do Firefox and IE use the same proxy settings? You can view Firefox's here:

Is anything wrong with iTunes store? Nowadays it always asks to contact iTunes support before completing a transaction,,,which is very frustrating
They said, they would look into it. After two days the problem was solved. I started buying things from the stores without asking to contact the iTunes support. Three days after the problem started again. I contacted them again, they said they would look into it again and my account has been disabled now. I received mail from them yesterday and I was told that they are still working on it to find the exact problem with my account. Even to open another iTunes account now, one will still need to contact the iTunes support in order to complete the transaction. Many people has told me they are encountering the same problem.
I started having this problem since the day I updated my billing account information. I have used more than three different cards but the problem still persists.
I am just fed up. I have more than £10 Credit on my account that I cannot spend since this problem started. -
I love the idea of iTunes family sharing, but I don't think it currently supports my situation.
My daughter's iTunes account gets a monthly allowance (plus occasional gift cards), and does not have a credit card tied to it. That way, she can buy whatever she wants, but only with her existing account balance.
I'd like to tie her account to mine via family sharing, but want to keep her spending limited to just her allowance balance. Also, I don't need to grant permission each time she wants to buy something when using her balance. Ideally, she would be permitted to buy exactly as she does now (no permission necessary, no credit card on the account, and only using allowance funds), but also be tied my family account to listen to music I've already bought.
It appears that my 3 options are:
Do not do family sharing and keep the accounts separate.
Tie the accounts together, put "ask to buy" on her account, and then get bugged for permission each time she wants to get something (as well as keep track myself of her going over her allowance and dipping into my credit card).
Tie the accounts together, don't use "ask to buy", and keep my fingers crossed that she doesn't spend more than her allowance amount (because iTunes would permit spending more than that and charge my card).
Options 2 and 3 don't work for me, and option 1 doesn't take advantage of family sharing.

Every once in awhile, when I am working in some application other than iTunes and iTunes happens to be open but not in use, I hit a combination of keys that starts iTunes playing. Playing while in still in the background. Does anyone know what combination of keys does this? Is there a way to prevent iTunes from responding to those keystrokes or must I set the system to intercept those keystrokes for each and every application I might run?
Space bar and return will both start iTunes.

Before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Basic stuff:
You launch iphoto - what happens? What do you see when the problem or issue actually occurs.
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. What were you doing when the problem arose?
- Did it ever work properly?
- Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
Anything else you can think of that might allow someone else to understand your issue.
With this kind of information somebody can develop a starting point for troubleshooting the issue. -
Itunes upgrades automatically installed without permission
For the last year, for some reason when new versions are released, I get a message when I open i-tunes asking me whether I want to download the software now or later. I click later. With the latest upgrade to 12, I probably clicked the "later" icon in the message 4 or 5 times over a few days. If I'm away from my laptop for a significant period of time, Apple has downloaded and installed the new version of it-tunes without asking me. I can tell right away because the icon that sits near the bottom of the desktop has been moved.
Under the Edit/Preferences/Advanced setting, the box to automatically download the software is unchecked. Possibly, there is another check box I'm missing. At one point, I even renamed the Update Program and it still happened. I'm thinking it has to do with browsing in the i-tunes store. I don't like downloading the software until about a month after the release because of all the glitches in it. Fortunately in the previous release of itunes 11, I knew about the Microsoft update that resulted in the installation crashing and I had uninstalled it before the new release automatically installed itself. Hope someone knows the answer to this one, that would be great. Thanks.I find that strange. I have been using Windows 7 for a long time, as well as iTunes. While the Apple Software Update program will check for updates, there is nothing there that tells it to install. That has to be done manually, and if neither the setting in iTunes or the Software Update are set to check for updates, then it should not even be checking for it. I have one computer set to check weekly, and one set to never check. Even the device I have set to weekly will only prompt me to tell me that software is available, it will not download it, let alone install it. I'm also not aware of any additional settings anywhere that would automatically install an iTunes update. I wouldn't know what to say about that.

How do I delete a credit card from my iTunes account without adding another one? My friend bought an app with her credit card and I no longer have the info but every time I try to download a free app (ex: Instagram, Twitter, vine etc.) it ask for the credit cards security code. I can not find a way to delete that cards info without adding another cards info.

how do I revert back to previous (before 11) itunes.
Someone nicked my Album Cover flow, without asking. I have snow leopard. I was happy. Just before Christmas as if I havent got enough to do Thank You. I've given Apple loads of money this year--presents and all, the least they could do is tell me, they're going to take stuff off of My computer that I enjoy,/ find very useful/ and worked hard to update all my album covers and have a gallery of my own artwork for my mixes--it was beautiful. When I went to add some more, the facility had been taken away from me. Was so dissapointed. They send me emails all the time to buy the latest must have products. I even did a questionair to help them. They really care for their customers--right. So why couldnt they warn me about this update, its only polite.
If I bought a warm coat some years ago, then the manufatures came round without my knowledge and cut off the left arm, and later told me, their reserch says that people dont use the left arm so much so they have to get rid of it. 1. I think that would be illegal. 2. its impolite not to ask if they could do it. 3. why not give me an options to keep it, seeing as i bought it. 4. its ludicrous.
I trusted Apple-but then -they took my YouTube off my ipad. I cant update to newer software as I will lose some expensive programms (Im not made of money). I also have 2 oldish defunct but fully working laser printers (if they were compatible with new software).
Im not a techky-I just use the stuff, I do art and music and Cover Flow was equipement I used.

Itunes deleting apps without request and without asking confirmation
as soon I install itunes, I have a huge slow down of all XP. Installation takes a long time, it freezes XP very often. Once it s installed, it takes a long time to start (often more than 1 minute), often freezes XP. quicktime steals the default access for mp4 files, each time I try to use explorer on a folder with MP4 files, xp freezes for minutes, it never shows previews, takes a long time to start when it effectivly starts, reads a lot less than open readers like vlc or mpc. when I try to set another reader as default reader for MP4, quicktime keeps the hand on it, cannot get rid of freezes withoout deleting quicktime, witch make itunes unavailable
LAST BONUS: after having reinstalled itunes to sync my contacts, it tried to sync the apps without beung asked (maybe because i dowloaded 2 apps on my computer) and STARTED TO DELETE ALL OTHER APPS WITHOUT ASKING CONFIRMATION DELETTING ALL MY DATAS

BYE ITUNESNo, they actually thought that people would use autosync and have one master library. They didn't think that people had 3 or 4 computers that they would spread their music/videos over. Why not combine all your files on one computer?
As far as music/videos from your Aunt's computer, those aren't yours and the other reason for Apple doing what you want is they don't want people stealing music. Please don't steal music.
One more thing, on your master computer that the iPod is linked to, set it to manually manage your music and you can use it between different computers. You will have to eject it manually every time you are through syncing/charging and want to remove it. -
iTunes suggested to upgrade iOS for my iPodtouch but couldn't upgrade and asks to restore the iPod. But it doesn't restore also and gives error (1). Pl help.

On your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link. If you are doing it on an iOS device (iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch) then try tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (Settings > Store on iOS 5 and below) and selecting 'View Apple ID' on the popup - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.
