ITunes v8 mini player

I went to Advance settings to switch to mini player and its not there anymore. Then I went into Preferences and didn't find any options to turn on the mini player. Where did it go in in v8?

Oh, how sorry you are gonna be, apple. Another day, when you have disappointed with iTunes big time:
Mini player in "advanced" menu,
moved to "view" menu,
with crappy help not finding "mini player" whatsoever,
having me search Google only to find how on earth miniPLayer is turned "on" (I mean, "turning ON" miniplayer?) and not plague my taskbar nor system tray
not working without latest quicktime (which ***** loads also),
having no mousewheel support for volume setting,
being obese on my sys resources,
taking over "default player" setting by default
Not to mention the trouble I had to write this single little post with all the registration needlessness.

  • How do I enable scrubbing in the iTunes 11 mini player?

How do I enable scrubbing in the iTunes 11 mini player?  I don't see a bar or any way to manually skip to the part of the song I wish to play.

I did notice this: If you click on the album cover artwork squre, yet another window opens—a square, frameless window that shows a scrubber when you move your mouse over it. There's still no way to just glance at the window and see your current position within the track, though. You have to hover your mouse over that square window (which lacks an obvious name within iTunes).

  • HT1347 ipod touch, updated itunes, only mini-player shows on screen

I bought an IPod touch 64 tonight because my old 60Gb died.  Plugged into my computer and fired it up.  I also updated my ITunes software at the same time.
Now I only see my mini-player screen and not my library screen.  I know I changed something to have my mini-player on top but now I can't see anyway to undo this. Help?

So as far as I read... you are having a prob restoreing you iPod with a Unknown error of (1603) guess what you are in luck this happen to my and some of my costomers so here are the steps to force you ipod to restore (recovery Mode) and update you iPod Touch...
    1. Verify you have iTunes 7.5 or later. Apple recommends using the latest version of iTunes.
    2. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPod touch.
    3. Power off the device (Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the the iPhone or iPod touch to turn off.
    4. Press and hold the Home button while connecting USB cable. When you reconnect USB, the device should then power on. BUT DO NOT LET GO OF THE HOME BUTTON
    5. Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo.
    6. When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message: "iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes
Note: once you put the Ipod Touch in recovery mode you can not take it out of this mode
You must restore the iPod that means everything on it (songs, photos, videos) will be deleted

  • ITunes Crashes - Mini Player & Genius

Relaunch iTunes after quitting while on a Genius Mix in the mini player. It starts back up in the mini player mode. Click the Play button, and iTunes crashes.
The workaround is to switch to the full player before hitting Play.

  • ITunes 9 Mini-Player and search option

Before I downloaded iTunes 9 and was running all my music through iTunes 8, I was able to search for keywords and that became the playlist. I switched to Mini-Player and it continued endlessly through this selected search. I am not able to do that with iTunes 9, I search for songs, switch to Mini-Player and the search somehow escapes itself and starts playing my whole Music listing of songs.
Is anyone else having this problem?

I have this issue, both on my computer, and on my girlfriend's Macbook Pro. Prior versions of iTunes would constrain its Shuffle to within my search results when using the Search function in the upper right corner of iTunes. 9.x basically ignores the search results, and shuffles within my entire library. There doesn't seem to be any way to fix it, as there are very limited "shuffle" options in the Controls menu.

  • New itunes 9 mini player doesn't look good

for a moment i was having graphic issues w/ itunes or my compt. the new shadow at the top header makes it look like a bent metal. i like previous graphic where it was simply across the surface and the window simply pops-out of the screen among other window on your screen. also the void space at the bottom is disconcerting. it just appears that something that something had to be there. i see no additional value or function for these two new visual characteristics.

You can post feedback about iTunes from the main iTunes drop down menu.

    Easy to Fix.
On Main menu, click on 'Edit' and then 'Preferences'.
    Click on 'Advanced'.
You will see a list of check boxes. Simple check the box labelled:
"Keep MiniPlayer on top of all windows"
    Then click OK

  • Mini player does not work, can only switch playlists by closing and restarting iTunes

For the last few versions of iTunes, my mini player does not work, only choices are large window and larger window.  Also, if I am listening to a playlist and hit the pause button, then switch to another playlist, the old playlist keeps playing when I hit play.  The only way I can figure out to switch playlists is to quit and relaunch iTunes.

    try rebooting the ipad
you know holding down the on button and the home button until the slider comes
and turn it off and start it up again

  • ITunes Mini Player Does not show artwork

I have 100% of my music tagged with album art.
Album art shows 100% of the time in every other possible place in iTunes - including mini player next up.
When I look at mini player history, album art is missing 99% of the time.
    Anybody have the fix?

I also find what Apple has done to be a huge step backwards.
Apple seems to be in the dark regarding the user experience - seemingly favoring form over function. I almost feel they are trying to just make things look pretty to please users in store but leaving real users left out to dry in regards to features and smart interface design.
The mini player is my primary interface for using iTunes - now this "upgrade" omits the playhead, time elapsed and remaining, volume controls (at a glance), full playback details, etc. How is this at all an improvement?
I suppose if making the interface "clean" - yeah - it's a home run. So pretty. So useless. Great job!
I said the same regarding Quicktime. I still use Quicktime 7 Pro (!!!!) over Quicktime for OSX because it has full controls, easy edit features (compared to the simplistic garbage of the new player) and most importantly - does not have movie controls overlaying my movie!!!
I know that's a tangent - but let's have a return to controls that sit below the movie as opposed to over it.
Apple, I truly love your products and own a significant amount of your gear - but you really need to sort out the user experience.
    Cheers!

  • Full iTunes window pops open when in mini-player mode?

    Hi
I've noticed with the most recent version of iTunes in mini-player mode on my iMac, when I hover my mouse pointer downwards towards the dock, the full window springs open.
I'm not hovering near the iTunes icon, and the pointer doesn't hit the mini-player, so not sure why this is happening? No big issue, but it is pretty annoying! It's bit random, but seems to happen mainly with that downward motion of the mouse pointer.
Anyone else noticed this?? I'm on iTunes 11.0.4, OSX 10.6.8 on an iMac.
    Thanks!
    Ben

Judy, I searched around and found the post I pasted below; you can use your Spotlight searcher and see if you have the Quartz Composer Visualizer plugin in my 'internet plugins' in the library folder.

    {{Thanks Limnos.
I had Repaired Permissions and Backed Up, not resorted to external booting.
The problem was found to be 2 iTunes plug-ins:
    1. LEDSpectrumAnalyser.bundle
    2. Quartz Composer Visualizer.bundle }}

  • ITunes forgetting or erasin text in search field when in mini-player modus

    Hi,
there has been an annoying bug in iTunes since version 8 where iTunes doesn't seem to remember the text typed in the search field when it's in mini-player modus.
    Concrete example:
I type in the search field The Beatles. I get the list with all music from The Beatles. I start playing the music, put iTunes in mini-player modus via the green plus sign.
Before iTunes 8 this gave me the chance of selecting which album or artist or song I wanted to hear, without needing to make a seperate playlist for it.
But I still see which song is playing in the mini-player.
Now, since iTunes 8 after a couple of songs in the mini-player it just plays other music as well. If I enlarge the player again, I see that the text in the search field is just gone.
I don't want to make seperate playlist every time I just want to hear this or that artist or album, and this worked fine untill iTunes 8.
I'm not the only one with the problem (after a check on a Mac-forum in Belgium). But after 2 bug reports to Apple and a couple of updates (now iTunes 8.2) the bugg is still there.
Does anyone know if there is any way to get this back? (Terminal commando or something, don't know...)
    Thanks and Best Regards,

Your solution is fine if you're browsing. But if you're playing back specific material that does not fit into that filter, then you're up the creek.
Very annoying bug for my workflow for sure >=[

  • How can I search PDF's with iTunes mini player search?

I have been storeing PDF's in iTunes books becuase its so simple to use. The new mini player in iTunes 11 mini player is amazing and provides some very nice looking searchs.
However I can't search PDF's via the mini player. Does anyone know how to make this work on a windows install of iTunes?
    Thanks

I've had the same problem as first posted. Tried the suggested solutions and none of them worked. I finally have found somethng that does work.
In iTunes v.11.0.1.12,  I needed to get to the following screen before DELETE would work:
In the uppper LEFT corner select Books.
Then highlight/select the PDF file you wish to delete, and right click to get the menu to pop up.
Now, select DELETE from the menu.

  • How do I turn off controls in the mini player?

Hello, I have a question about the mini player. When I first installed iTunes, the mini player would only display the control icons when I moved the cusor over the player, with only the artwork displayed while the player was in use. Now, however, every time I use the mini player it always has the contorls on display. Is there a way to toggle the controls on and off so that they are only visible when I want them to be? For reference, the mini player always looks as it does below. When I first began using it only the artwork would be on display. I've tried reinstalling iTunes, but the player still looks the same (I did not do a full uninstall/reinstall however). Thanks for any help or suggestions.

    Hello moeszyslak,
I would recommend testing to see if the issue is system wide, or user specific as the troubleshooting for each is different. Use this article:
iTunes for Windows Vista or Windows 7: Troubleshooting unexpected quits, freezes, or launch issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1717.
    Create a New User Account
When troubleshooting a variety of issues, it can be useful to determine if the issue affects a specific Windows user account or all accounts. Follow the steps below to create a new user account in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
From the Start menu, choose Control Panel.
Open Add or remove user accounts (If using the Classic View in Windows Vista, open User Accounts. Then open Manage another account).
Select Create a new account and follow the instructions to complete the account setup process.
Once the new account is created, choose     Log Off from the     Start menu.
Log into the newly created user account.
Open iTunes and determine whether the issue you were experiencing persists in this new user.
If you see the same issue in the newly created user account, proceed to the System-wide troubleshootingsection below. If you do not experience the same issue, consult the User-specific troubleshooting section below.

  • Mini player won't come up.

My option for the itunes 11 mini player is grayed out and won't come up with the keyboard short cut. Any ideas?

It is pretty unintuitive. I was in seeing a Genius about several issues today. Previously AppleCare had told me that this was NOT a known issue and that they couldn't replicated it on their mac. The Genius figured out pretty quickly that the issue seems to be only when iTunes is in full screen mode. If you take it out of full screen the player worked fine both on my machine and on theirs. They should fix that, of course. It shouldn't make any difference what mode you're in.
Thanks for the response. Hope this make some sense of it.
    Cheers,
    Michael

  • Mini Player settings

I don't like iTunes as CD Player or anything else except Radio. This is the ONLY reason I use it. Usually I choose one station and minimize iTunes to tray or switch to Mini Player. And this is EXTREMELY annoying to do it each time I launch iTunes.
Are there any switches in iTunes shortcut or hidden settings that allow to launch iTunes in Mini Player mode by default?
It would also be great if it had "Make default" option for every playing mode like Radio, Videos or else. It'd be very useful for those who use iTunes just for playing CDs or Radio - you launch player in Mini Player Mode and it remembers your last station and starts playing it.
P.S.: And in general iTunes interface is just awfull. Very unfriendly. Sorry to admit that.
