ITunes v9.2.1.5 running setup screen at every open & other issues

Hi,
I installed the above upgrade Thursday when prompted, since then, every time I open itunes, it launches the setup screens. This is one issue....
Some idiot I work with, actually ran the setup process when I wasn't here, now my library contains every file off my pc. I tried to restore to a month ago, but now my itouch reports sync problems & tells me it can't backup.
I purchased an ipad yesterday; it too tells me it can't backup to this pc?
Gota love untested upgrades!
Do apple read these to find out about errors, I lodged a feedback form, but really would like an upgrade to fix the problems with the upgrade!

Try this.
Quit iTunes.
Drag the C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes file to the desktop.
Launch iTunes and see if it fixes the issue. If it pops up, quit and relaunch iTunes as it may see that as the first time running iTunes.
If it didn't fix it, quit iTunes then drag the C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes file to the desktop and launch iTunes again as above.

The headline says it all really. I was forced to restore to an earlier saved version after problems associated with contacts. Amongst the many issues now is the inability to run adroid apps, whether ported on not. Not happy. Does anyone have any ideas?

Did you restore your phone with an OS of at least 10.2.1? Anything earlier than that will not run Android apps.

My 2007 iMac seems to reset the home screen when not in use. I am running mavericks and have had no other issues... just curious if this is a sign of something worse or to come?

I updated to Mavericks and love it. Its made both my 2007 iMac and 2007 MacBookPro faster. But I have noticed in the last couple of days that my iMac screen with periodically go blank except for the background photo I set... then just as fast the icons on the desktop flash back up. Finder crashes are often caused by "Google Drive." If it's installed, I suggest you remove it according to the developer'sinstructions. You may need to boot in safe mode to do so. Back up all data before making any changes.
If you use Google Drive and don't want to remove it, then try deselecting the option in its preferences to show a status icon. According to reports, that may be enough to stop the Finder from crashing.

Hey there Artisansdjj,
It sounds like your iPad is minimizing or closing any app that was open before you put it to sleep with the Smart Cover, or the Sleep/Wake button. I would start by quitting all the running apps:
iOS: Force an app to close
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

Itunes really stinks right now. Keeps freezing on sync, and other issues

It synced earlier, but now i want to sync a tv show and it freezes the instant it gets to starting to sync the movie. It's also freezing up at random other moments. itunes on my other computer earlier started freezing the second my ipod connected to it. don't get it. earlier i synced 10 GB worth of stuff to it from this same computer now it's freezing. wow.

Firefox remains as the topmost screen when I open other programs, so I can't see them unless I shrink Firefox. How to fix?

You can't merge Apple IDs. What you could do is set up your phone to use the same iCloud accout you are using on your Mac. To do this, go to Settings>iCloud and turn all synced data (Contacts, Calendars, etc.) to Off. When prompted, choose to keep the data on the phone. When everything is off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. Now add the iCloud account you set up on your Mac (with the same Apple ID) and turn syncing back on for Calendars, Contacts, etc. When prompted, you will probably want to choose merge, to merge the data on your phone with the existing data on this iCloud account.

Depending on what iPhone you have when you get to the connect to wifi you should be able to activate your device over cellular data. Try doing a hard reset by holding the home circle button an power button until an apple pops up and the go through the setup again and when you get to the wifi part a option should be setup with cellular data iPhone 4 and above should give this option sometimes doesn't like showing up that's why u have to do a hard reset first

Is there an error message when you try to launch the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe)? If so, what does it say? (Precise text, please.)

HT1751 i bought a new, larger external hard drive. copied my itunes library from the old drive to the new one, changed the libarary location in Edit/Preferences/Advanced to the new drive. iTunes will not start or run unless old hard drive plugged in.??

Thank you for providing so much information about what is going on. It sounds like you have setup iTunes to save new content to your new external hard drive in iTunes>Preferences, but it sounds like iTunes is not opening iTunes Library.itl file on the new external drive. You have one last step to take to have iTunes point to your new external hard drive rather than your old one:
Steps to create or choose a different iTunes Library file
If iTunes is running, quit iTunes.
If you are using Windows, hold down the Shift key and from the Start menu and choose All Programs > iTunes > iTunes.
You should see the following screen:
Additional information
If you do not see the screen above, then you did not hold the correct key at the correct time. You may want to try again. Note that if you pinned iTunes to the Start menu programs, and open it that way, it may not work.
Once you select "Choose Library," you will need to navigate to the iTunes Library.itl file on your new external drive.

When clicking the itunes icon on my left side of screen a window pops up and says i need to disable the compatability, I tried to do this from what it prompted me to do, but it still say problem unresolved

I have not been able to access the itunes store for the past month, it has been a long time since I have downloaded/purchased anything, probably around christmas time, but the problem is I click on the itunes store and the grey zebra striped bar just keeps running accross the top indefinitely, one other thing is that when I click on my itunes icon on the left side of my screen a window pops up and tells me to turn off compatibility, so I tried to follow the prompts through the properties from right clicking the itunes icon but after the thing runs its check and i click on make suggested changes, it still says incompatible. I have no idea what to do and this is extremely frustrating, please help!!
