ITunes version 7.0 required - not recongnized , already downloaded

Hi,
I have a second generation iPod , as well as an older nano and a video so I have had iTunes installed for a while and I uddate it whenever I get the notice. However , when I plug in my second generation iPod it says :"The iPod "IPOD" cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 7.0 or later. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes or install iTunes from the cd that came with your iPod."
I already have installed the latest version of iTunes and re-installed it 3 times because of this but each time I plug the iPod in this message comes up. Also , there were no cds given with the second generation iPods so I cannot try to update it from a cd.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Check that you have version 7.0.2
If you do then try downloading the latest version of Quicktime, that may help.

You need iTunes 11.1 which is not available for download in google chrome or other browsers. The only browser it has worked for with me is Safari. Hope this helps!

My itunes id is blocked by apple because of an internal problem trying to update the itunes version, apple support is not helping at all and I need to update all my application. Is anybody you had this problem before? and how did they help? thanks

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed almost 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

You will probably want to download the newest version of iTunes (iTunes 11.1) directly from Apple and install it on your computer if you are having issues updating. The link for the download can be found here:

Move the Safari app from the Desktop to the Applications folder.
Restart your Mac.
That's why you see this:
When I try to do the updates my computer says it has ready it goes through like it is downloading them then at the end it says some of the files could not be saved to "/" files.
After your restart your Mac, click the Apple  menu (top left in your screen) then click: Software Update ...

You don't download it to your iphone.
It is for your computer, not your iphone.

ITunes Store no longer remembering apps/music already downloaded

Hi,
i've got the latest iTunes, and it occurs to me a phenomenon that itunes store previously remembers and indicate the status of apps/music already purchased.
to make myself clearer, for example i have already downloaded Whatsapp a long time ago, but now if i go to the App Store, it used to display as "purchased" or "downloaded" just beside the app icon.
Now it no longer does, applied to hundreds of apps and hundreds of songs.
Is it a bug ?

There's a setting in iTunes that says "manually manage music and videos" make sure you enable that and you'll be able to drag and drop content onto your phone.

Recent iTunes versions launches but does not appear at all

Hi all,
I have been through the forum but nothing could help me out. Here is my problem:
I have an ipod nano video (nano gen 2 i think) and planning on getting an ipod classic 120G. everything worked perfectly on both my computers (1 tower and 1 laptop both under windows XP). Somehow, after last update of itunes everything went wrong. On both cpu iTunes launches (i can see it on the task manager) but nothing appears. Also nothing happens when i plug my ipod in or out...
I uninstalled / installed other versions many times and finally the only version working is the iTunes 7.0.2 which is not compatible with the new ipods (including mine) therefore i can't upload/take away musics on it etc...
Any can help out? thxs in advance!
