Itunes - video conversion - no sound

I have several videos of my family I have taken with my Sony digital camera (with sound) I would like to load on my ipod video.
I followed the directions on:

but after this conversion - the videos have no sound!
Help! What am I missing or...?

ITunes Video Conversion

I just downloaded some mpg videos. I converted these to mov in quicktime which is said to be compatible with 3G ipods. I added the mov files into my iTunes library but they wont transfer when I sync my iPod. I've right-clicked them and converted them to ipod/iphone but then there's no sound. I've tried YASA mp4 converter but then all i get is sound. Is there just some way i can transfer my fully working mov files via disk mode or something?

Try using MPEG Streamclip to convert the videos; content that is normally synced from iTunes won't be playable on the iPod if disk mode is used to put it onto the iPod.

Video conversion loses sound to nano

I import a Quicktime video into My Library and play it back (has sound) but then I convert and send it to my iPod and play it back (NO SOUND).
What could be doing this or am I doing it wrong, settings or so.

These dudes rock.
Now why doesn't Apple sort this out, that is my issue in the end.

Itunes video conversion question/confusion

Hey guys,
If I have a movie for appletv at 720p in my itunes movie folder, and convert it for use for the ipod or iphone.. does that mean I loose the 720p file? Or does it make two files, one of each quality? Confused

No, you won't loose the original unless you delete it. Conversion makes a copy.

The QT preset used by iTunes is a high quality, H.264, multi-pass conversion and, therefore, very slow. If you have QT Pro installed, you can always perform the conversion in the single pass mode which would take half as long or switch to the MPEG4/AAC converter in either single or multi-pass mode -- both of which are faster than the more complex H.264 codec but require larger files for the same level of quality.
If you don't have QT Pro installed, then you can download MPEG Streamclip (free) and use the iPod H.264 preset which is, by default, a single-pass converter. If you go this route, be sure to read the instructions carefully regarding the QT Player vs the alternative QT and MPEG2 codec installation.

I have just uploaded my holiday pictures and videos to ipad and can't view the videos, I get sound and no picture. Can anybody help?

How were the videos created? If the videos are in a format that isn't listed below, they may need to be transcoded or exported the from the application they were created with again, just in a another format.

Sound is gone for iTune videos that convert to iPod

I have a problem. I load movies into iTunes, and they work. But as soon as I convert them for iPod, the sound is gone. It's not just one file, its all of them. Something must be wrong with iTunes cause I know more than that should work.

Videos that did not come from the iTunes store are going to be harder to troubleshoot because there are many ways the video's could have been created. Another article that has good information on video conversion for the iPod is: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302892

What you want to do does not work with an iPd running iOS 5. See the screenshot.
The latest update for HBO GO does allow for AirPlay on Apple TV - sound and video - but only on devices running iOS 6 and Apple TV running 5.1.1 or later - according to the app description.

Mov is a container format, you'd need to look at the codec used by the movie file inside the container to know whether it will work with the Apple TV or not.

It is an old macbook pro probably 6yo with the back lit keys - not under applecare anymore obviously. I downloaded the upgrade last night which took quite a while longer than it should have.

ITunes video out of sync with sound

On all my video downloads from iTunes, the picture is out of sync with the sound by at least one second. I have followed all the instructions in the troubleshooting page that addresses such issues but the problem continues. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Most of my video problems have come from using a computer too slow to play the file correctly. I cannot play iTunes video on my desktop have to use laptop.
