  • My videos keep freezing up on my 30 gig I-pad 2 a few seconds into the program.

I bought a 30 gig  I-pad 2 about 4 months ago and videos keep freezing up even from I-pad apps. What can I do?

    all videos or some?
Could be a couple of things.  if it is one or two specific videos, they may be corrupted. try to re load and try again.
If it is happening frequently, take a look at how much stuff you may have open.  double tap the home button to see the task bar.  touch and hold any of those icons until they jiggle, then delete them all by touching the minus sign.
then reboot the pad by pressing the home and sleep button together until you see the apple logo.  ignore the red slider.

  • Why does my iTunes store keep freezing when switching iTunes stores?

I have an account in both the Canada store and the U.S. store (I buy U.S. iTunes cards for use as some shows do not come to Canada until nearly a year after its U.S. store release). However, and don't ask why I haven't posted about this earlier I noticed for the past month or two when I switch from one to the other, my iTunes freezes completely forcing me to Force Quit it and restart. It will then be in the store I was switching into (from Canada to U.S. or vice versa) but it still had to freeze and be re-opened before I could access it. Is there any reason this might be happening? I feel like it might've happened after the most recent update because it did not used to do this. I have the latest iTunes update 11.1.3 (8).
    Thanks for anyone's help.

  • Videos keep freezing- Steps to take

I use a 13" MacBook Pro with OS X version 10.8.3 and its barely a year old. Vidoes saved on my mac keep freezing on run time and videos taken on photobooth. It started initially when I downloaded Microscoft Silverlight. I have deleted it but the problem still presists. I'm not sure what next to do about this.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then copy it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
    Step 1
Triple-click the line of text below to select it:
    kextstat -kl | awk '!/com\.apple/{printf "%s %s\n", $6, $7}' | open -f -a TextEdit
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Then click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). A TextEdit window will open. Post the contents of that window, if any — the text, please, not a screenshot. You can then close the TextEdit window. The title of the window doesn't matter, and you don't need to post that. No typing is involved in this step.
    Step 2
    Repeat with this line:
    { sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.(apple|openssh|vix)|org\.(amav|apac|cups|isc|ntp|postf|x)/{print $3}'; sudo defaults read com.apple.loginwindow LoginHook; } | open -f -a TextEdit
This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which you do have to type. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. Type it carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. Heed that warning, but don't post it. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.
    Step 3
    launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.apple|org\.(x|openbsd)/{print $3}' | open -f -a TextEdit
    Step 4
    ls -1A /e*/mach* {,/}L*/{Ad,Compon,Ex,Fram,In,Keyb,La,Mail/Bu,P*P,Priv,Qu,Scripti,Servi,Spo,Sta}* L*/Fonts 2> /dev/null | open -f -a TextEdit
Important: If you formerly synchronized with a MobileMe account, your me.com email address may appear in the output of the above command. If so, anonymize it before posting.
    Step 5
osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to get name of every login item' | open -f -a TextEdit
Remember, steps 1-5 are all copy-and-paste — no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output.
    You can then quit Terminal.

  • Ipod video keeps freezing

ok so I just got my ipod few days ago brand new, had no problems with it. Today when I tried to charge it from my laptop this message comes up from itunes saying a new version (7)is available. So i download it and then it says a new ipod version is available 1.2. and i start downloadding that. so as its updating all the files in the ipod and its almost done, my ipod freezes and itunes says ipod is done updating you can now disconnect. so i disconnect the ipod but its still frozen, so i do a reset and it works fine for maybe a minute and all my files are there and it plays fine but then it freezes again. so i reset again and it freezes in a much shorter time... then i try to restore it from itunes to its factory settings and with much difficulty of it keep freezing i finally get to do it and even put my songs back on there. but then after maybe more than a minute it freezes again. i even ran the diagnostic and it showed everything was fine... any ideas what could be wrong, i tried resseting abuncha times and it freezes everytime, sometimes instantly. it seems like something is spinning in it and then it suddenly stops and crashes. this thing is literally two days old...
ANY help would be much appreciated.

  • My macbook pro runs slow, iTunes videos keep stuttering. Nothing has worked to solve this issue. Macbook Pro 13-inch mid 2012 2.5GHz i5 with 8GB RAM upgrade.

    Hello everyone.
I have been having this issue for a few months now and nothing works to resolve it. The biggest issue is that iTunes videos constantly stutter ever few seconds, the audio portion of the video is not effected. The most I have open at once is Safari, Skype, and iTunes, and possibly Open Office. Videos will even stutter with nothing else open other than iTunes. At times it sounds like the computer is running something in the background from hard drive noise.
I even upgraded the RAM to 8GB and it still has this problem! Nothing looks wrong in Activity Monitor other than occasionally the memory usage spikes up to 6GB, but even then the memory pressure graph is green. I dont understand how these non-intensive programs can use that much. The hard drive is barely 1/3 full.
Please help with a solution as nothing has worked so far. Thanks!

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this test is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The "Guest User" login created by "Find My Mac" is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.

  • Flash Player streaming video keeps freezing while audio continues

    Hi,
I have been having a problem with flash player for a couple of months now. When watching streaming video's the video will freeze for a second every 5-10 seconds constantly, but the audio continues uninterrupted. I have tried everything, enabling/disabling hardware acceleration; reinstalling flash player 11; trying flash player 10; updating the graphics drivers. I have also tried it on 5 different browsers: IE, Firefox, Chrome, Seamonkey (mozilla browser), and Opera. The same problem occurs on all of them. Yesterday I thought I had cracked it when I realised I had several versions of java installed and once I deleted all the old versions flash player worked fine. However, today the problem has started all over again, and for some reason flash player had deleted itself when I turned the computer on this evening.
I have checked my internet connection speed online and am running an average speed of 5Mbps. I have 2.5 GB's of RAM, and a 2.2 GHz AMD Athlon 64 3500+ processor. I am using Windows XP. I have never had any problems with flash player on this pc (which I've had for 6 years), and as far as I can tell this problem started occurring a couple of weeks before flash player 11 was released.
I'd be very grateful for any help anyone can give resolving this problem.
    Regards,
    Chris Perkins

I think the issue may be related to Silverlight which I think was released in September when we both started getting this problem. DIsabling it does not work, so I'm still not sure how or if it really is causing this problem.
If the player is Silverlight, you'd be able to see that by right clicking the video.
Can you go to Youtube, play any video and then right click it and choose "Take Speed Test". That will take you to a graph where you can see what your download speed is in relation to your ISP, your location and other data. If the black bar is way down compared with others, then I would suspect that something, or somebody else is using your bandwidth. Do you have wireless? If so, change the security code. It may be being used as a wireless hotspot by your neighbours.
You can also play the test video which will show data usage in real time.

  • ITunes 11 keeps freezing

    Hello,
I updated to iTunes 11 a few days ago (and I seem to like it, btw) and everything was fine. Until this morning. Everytime I start a song, iTunes just freezes after 20 seconds or so. The song keeps playing, but the software is completely stuck and needs a forced quit.
I tried rebooting, reinstalling etc. but nothing seems to help as of yet.
I have a mid '10 macbook pro and a library with 10.000 songs, all of them in iTunes Match...
Does anyone else have this problem? Any idea what's going wrong?
edit: Sorry, i only just noted the other thread. I've tried the 32-bit thing, but it wasn't running in that mode to begin with...

I found the solution. Apparantly, iTunes can't handle my iPhone 4 as of yet. Everytime I connect it, after a few seconds the color wheel pops up and it's stuck. Disconnect it, and it seems to work alright. Well...

  • ITunes video playback freezing and out of sync from audio problem

There's one thing that bugs me more than the non-responses I get from Apple Support is when I try to watch a movie on iTunes and during the action parts or exciting scenes, the video freezes and pauses from the audio for a few seconds. It happens quite often during video play. How can this matter be solved and I can watch a movie that costs WAY too much to buy on iTunes and actually enjoy it for once? Anybody? Hello? Bueller?

Q? Are you using Quicktime to play the video on your PC or other video player like Real Player?
As some 3rd party players may not sinc right or you may have to download a newer codec.
I use GOM player and it works well on my PC for video from iPhone 4S.
    Hope this helps.

  • My video keeps freezing and I want to know how to fix this problem or which add-ons / plugins need to be installed for improved performance of my video player

I often like watching videos and movies, current affairs, clips on you tube nine msn, yahoo and other sites and my video player or movie freezes for short and long periods and sometimes doesn't start at all. I don't have much experience with add on's or plugins but have been told this may be the problem, I have tried disabling add on's leaving shock wave flash player 11.7.700.224, adobe acrobat PDF plug in, silver light plug in 5.1.20125.0, java deployment toolkit 7.0.210.11 10.21.2.11 and java (TM) platform SE 7 U21 10.21.2.11. as well as leaving all add on's and plug ins run but it still doesn't fix the freezing problem please help or advise what are best options for peak performance of videos, clips and movies. Thanks

You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Flash#Troubleshooting
    *http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-113-crash-mozilla.html
Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    *https://hacks.mozilla.org/2010/09/hardware-acceleration/
Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

  • Videos Keep Freezing

Whenever I watch a video, (only Google Chrome. Netflix itself doesn't do this) it freezes about two minutes in. The audio continues along with the video timer but the video freezes. I have to reload the page to fix this until it does it two minutes later.
It didn't do this until I updated my software to Windows 10 Build 10041. Before this I had the 99xx one (Can't remember the last two numbers) and it was fine. Any help on why this is happening and how to fix it?

    Hi,
Generally speaking, this problem is relate with Graphic card driver. Please try to reinstall its driver for test firstly.
On the other hand, check the option "Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering" status in IE advanced settings. Try to check or uncheck this option for test.
