Itunes Vista Installation

Hello, I have been trying to install Itunes the latest Itunes software (7.7 or whatever it is) but it comes up that at the end of the installation (Itunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall Itunes) Well, I have tried to repair it, uninstall and reinstall it. It just doesnt seem to work out. I have also tried to download the installation again, nothing can be done. Now, I need to know what to do. I have my iphone and it needs to sync on here. Is there any alternatives to itunes if this does not work.

The following document is the best place to start with that one:

  • ITunes Vista 64 bit --- display errors

I have recently run into a problem with iTunes 8.2 for Vista 64 bit. When the window is not maximized, or close to taking up my entire screen, podcast and album covers, icons for the 'GET" for podcast, the icons for closing/max/min in the top right corner, and the store front does not scroll properly. There is a weird drawing error that seems to get resolved once I maximize iTunes to take up the entire screen.
I have uninstalled, redownloaded the latest iTunes Vista 64 bit, but to no avail remains unresolved. For the life of me I can't figure out why this is happening. I don't recall having this problem with the prior version of iTunes. I am running on a new Sager 9262 laptop with a GeForce 9800M GTX. I can't imagine this could be a video driver issue since it was working fine before.

Well I have an update. I uninstalled MS Office and still had the black screen issue with iTunes. Resizing did not help, Turning off DEP had no effect.
To make a long story short. I found a utility I had installed from the Samsung T260 monitor CD was causing my Problem. I disabled MultiScreen in the start up configuration (msconfig from the Command prompt).
iTunes (including the new version 8) has not had the black screen since I disabled (and then uninstalled) MultiScreen.
I do not know if there is an update to MultiScreen - I don't use it anyway.
Neilapril - this has worked for me... I hope it does the same for you.

  • Problems with Windows Vista Installation

Hi, I'm a new Mac user. I just received my Macbook about a week ago, and I am, so far, impressed with it.
However, I have been experiencing difficulties installing Windows Vista (SP1, 32bit DVD) via Boot Camp. After partitioning to a 32gb drive, I insert my installation DVD and click "Start Installation." After my computer reboots, the CD drive begins spinning, but then my screen is filled with black. Only a little white blinking underscore appears at the top left.
I've left my computer there for a while, in hopes of something occurring, but to no avail.
Is there anyone able to help me figure out how to smoothly run the Windows Vista installation? I'd love to catch up on work and gaming that I've missed this past week.

    Welcome to the Apple boards:
There have been some "issues" with BC and the newest Vista which has embedded SP1.
I am running Vista Ultimate 64-bit on this box, but I installed it under Tiger and BC 1.3 beta and just kept upgrading.
I recently installed Vista SP1 and BC2.1, but you are starting from the top, so to speak.
I am not sure there is an answer yet for your situation.

  • Boot Camp Problem with Windows Vista Installation

After putting in the disc and pressing the "Start Installation" button, the macbook pro restarts and and the screen goes gray for quite awhile, eventually the Vista installer loads, but I get the following error and cannot continue:
"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now.
Note: If the Windows intallation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step."
I can't put in the OS X 10.5 Disc because the eject button does not work, and i've tried copying the files from the disc onto a flash drive and getting it from there.

  • Unable to repair failed Vista installation

I have an Acer desktop PC running Vista Home Premium which is refusing to boot with the following symptoms:
When I try to boot normally I get as far as the Windows loading screen with the moving bar, after that the screen goes black apart from the pointer and never gets any further.
I get the same result if I try to boot into safe mode except that, of course, instead of the moving bar I can see the various files loading up to and including Windows\System32\drivers\disk.sys
I have tried using a Vista installation DVD to repair but this is unable to find any operating systems to repair.
If I use the Vista installation DVD to go into command mode then bootrec /scanos is also unable to find Windows installations.  In fact when loading from the DVD I don't seem able to see my hard drive at all!  E.g. Diskpart LIST DISK only shows
removable drives with no media (presumably the ones on my internal card reader).  Typing C: gives a drive not ready message.
I've also tried booting from the recovery partition using Alt and F10 during boot but this only gets as far as the "Please wait a moment" screen and stays there forever.
I've even tried re-installing Vista from the Vista installation DVD but this stops and asks for a driver for the DVD drive and will not carry on without it.
Can anyone suggest any way to get the PC working again - I don't need any of the data on it so don't have to worry about saving any data files.
The thing that is really puzzling me is that I can partly boot from the hard drive but then the hard drive seems to be missing when I boot from the Vista installation DVD.

    Hi
    This is very strange
How did you try to install the OS from recovery disk?
Did you boot from the CD and did you follow the instruction on the screen?
    Or what happens exactly???
Usually the Recovery disk should format the whole HDD and should set the notebook to the factory settings.
Furthermore the Vista is already activated and its not necessary to put any serial keys.
I see in the error message something about Security-Licensing. Im not quite sure what this can be but possibly the could be something wrong with the activating who knows ?:|
But as I said above, the Vista on the recovery disk is already activated.

    hi
i get answer by search results

    Hi!
The product key on the bottom side of the notebook is an OEM key and belongs to the preinstalled OEM version. That means you can??t use this key with a normal Vista installation disk that you can buy on the internet or from a computer shop.
If you want to install Vista you should a Toshiba recovery disk or a Microsoft disk with the corresponding product key.
You can order a Toshiba recovery disk from Toshiba directly:

  • After installing itunes 10 installation was successful but then tells me error 2 (windows error 2), After installing itunes 10 installation was successful but then tells me error 2 (windows error 2)

After installing itunes 10 installation was successful but then tells me error 2 (windows error 2).

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe, and select "Extract to iTunesSetup". WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup".
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, does iTunes launch properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Problems with Vista Installer CD

I created a 5GB partition on my MacBook, and after I inserted the Vista installer CD in Bootcamp, I realized that the partition needed to be bigger. I should note that I created the partition in Disc Utility because it wouldn't work in Bootcamp. It is FAT formatted. In the Vista installer, I formatted it to Vista, but there was still an error message saying it was too small. The expand button wasn't avaliable for that partition. So now I have two questions, but I only need one of them answered to move forward.
It seems I can either expand the partition in the Vista installer, or I can exit that and expand it in Disk Utility. First, how can I edit the partition without exiting Vista? If I can't do that, how do I exit Vista? Restarting while holding down Option or Apple hasn't worked.

Which keys have you tried using? Sometimes I cannot get the "C" key to work when I'm booting so I always use the "Option" key at boot immediately after the BONG at boot. Have you tried the option key? If/when you're able to get back into OS X, then I would immediately go into System Preferences and make the Start Up disk the OS X disk. That way you shouldn't have this problem again.

  • Whenever i open itunes after installation it says error 7 itunes was not installed correctly

whenever i open itunes after installation it says error 7 itunes was not installed correctly

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The section Install missing components may allow you to install Apple Application Support.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the advice above doesn't resolve things you could try this alternate version:
    iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of the core application, similar to previous 64-bit releases.
Or roll back to the previous build:
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)

  • ITunes 9 Installation - /system/library/extensions/CNQL2410_ClassicNotSeize

When I installed ITunes 9 I received the error message "System extension cannot be used /system/library/extensions/CNQL2410_ClassicNotSeize.kext was installed improperly". The ITunes 9 installation completed successful and seems to be working OK.
On another discussions I read about similar issues related to Snow Leopard and e.g. CanonScan LIDE 500F and other third party software.
Anybody a suggestion how to correct this problem?

This has showed up since I upgraded to Snow Leopard, and this dialog came on the screen after upgrading iTunes to 9.01. I have previously had the scanner software installed on the computer - it doesn't work after upgrading to Snow Leopard. I don't have Rosetta turned on.
I would just go take out the file, but I don't want to mess anything else up in the process. Anyone know if we can just take out this file, or should we uninstall the Canon Lide scanner software?

  • Windows Vista Installation Hangs on "Completing Installation" on Dell Inspiron 1720

I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 that I am working on. The original problem with this computer was that it was accidently shut off during a Windows Update. The computer will only load to a black screen with a white movable cursor.
Unable to resolve that issue, I decided to purchase a replacement hard drive (WD Scorpio Black 320GB -- Model # WD3200KTRTL) and proceed to do a full install of Windows Vista using the Dell Reinstallation Window Vista Home Premium 32BIT disc that came with
    the computer.
Towards the very end of the installation, the system hangs on the "Completing Installation" section. I decided to leave the computer turned on over night just in case there were things that were still loading. This was not the case and the next morning I
    turned off the computer.
With the new hard drive installed and with Windows Vista installed (minus the "Completing Installation hanging...) I am faced with the same problem as before when I had the existing hard drive installed.
Can anyone help me solve this issue? Ideally, I'd like to use the existing hard drive instead of the new one, simply because there is a lot of data and problems on the other drive.

How could it be that I can't reinstall Vista after replacing the hard drive in my Inspiron 1720 when I have the original DVD from Dell, to be used for just that purpose?  Well, the answer was exactly what Jaco suggested.  After hours of struggling
with this, and about at the stage where a new computer made more sense that continuing to try to get this 6 year old one running again, changing the AHCI setting allowed the Vista installer to get over it's CRCDISK.SYS hangup.  A 30 second fix, but finding
it took hours.  Sigh...Thank you for posting this, Jaco.

    Hello PamelaFox14,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you need to log in as the administrator to update the iTunes application properly.
Take a look at this article named:
Trouble installing iTunes or QuickTime for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926
    This section in particular:
    1. Make sure you have administrator account access
To install iTunes or QuickTime software, you need to be logged in as an administrator on the computer. If you're not sure if you have administrator account access, you may find this Microsoft article helpful:

Otherwise, refer to the Help documentation from Microsoft, contact your IT department, or visitsupport.microsoft.com for more information.
