ITunes visualizer with 2 monitors

Hi,
I have two monitors and I want to put iTunes in the secondary one and activate the Visualizer in full screen so that the secondary monitor only displays the CD covers while I work on something else in the primary one.
My problem is that when I activate the full screen visualizer in the secondary monitor, the primary monitor goes black as if iTunes was using both monitors.
Can somebody help me? Thanks in advance.
Nacho

I have the same issue here.
It would be nice not just for the cover art... but you can run visualizations in full screen mode also.
The "Windows Media Center" included with vista will correctly use the second monitor in "full screen" mode... without blanking out the main monitor.
I'd rather use iTunes because I plan on getting an iPod soon.
(So it would be nice if they fixed this bug.)

  • Itunes visualizer with slideshow

Can anyone think of a way where I could make a slideshow by using the itunes visualizer to the appropriate song as a backround with my pictures floating by. I have iphoto, imovie, Adobe Photoshop Elements 8, Pulp Motion, and even FCE which I would rather not get into, unless that is the only way.
    Thanks

No way I can think of.
PhotoPresenter has over 25 animated themes and one of those might approximate what you're looking for. It integrates seamlessly with iPhoto. You can download a demo to try it out.

  • Visualizer with dual monitors

So, I am running a 22" Apple monitor and a 23" Apple monitor with my 2.7 dual. My question is, when I select full screen mode on the visualizer, it plays on one monitor and the other goes dark. Is there a way I can get it to play on one monitor and keep the other one available for work? Also, is there a way I can get it to play on both monitors simultaneously? Maybe a scipt or something?
    BTW, I'm using iTunes 5.0.

Right that answers my question too.
Seems to me a bit of an oversight not to have this feature in itunes.
One of the best ways to use visualizer is to have it on the TV screen at a party.
    As Apple suggest:
    b You Can See Sound
i Visualize your music with a full-colour light show that dances to the beat. Try in full-screen mode on TV for parties.
But not much use if you have to keep switching it off to change tracks.
hmmm, I hope this feature is added soon

  • How/Where to install additional iTunes Visualizer plug-ins?

Hi. I recently switched from my old mac running OS 10.4 to another mac running 10.6. with iTunes 9.0.1.
I had installed a couple additional iTunes visualizer with my old mac. I've tried installing the same plug-ins on the new mac by placing them in the Harddrive/Library/iTunes/iTunes plug-ins folder............however ..........after doing so and opening up iTunes.......they don't shaw up as an option in the Top Menu- View-Visualizer-Visualizer Plug-ins list.
Wondering why not and how to make this work? Thanks for any help.

After thinking it over............my old mac was a powerPc compared to the new Intel and I was probably using versions of those Plug-ins that were quite old..........so went to the plug-in website and downloaded a newer version which is showing up.

  • Using visualizer with presentations powerpoint worship

About 3 years ago, I was speaking at a conference that included group singing (a Christian conference). The tech team was using a program that allowed them to integrate iTunes visualizer with the powerpoint slides. In essence, the music of the band was playing, the visualizer was somehow connected to that music (dancing along as it does to the beat) and over it all they had the words of the song.
Does anyone have any idea if you know of a program that helps with that? Any ideas of how that could be done?

No one else has had any thoughts on this, but let me offer this, at least. I know that the G-Force visualizer will allow you to create scripts, including the ability to add text and ovedrlay words onto the visulaizer screen.
G-Force is a free download to play with and learn. Much more powerful than Apple's. Then a small fee to purchase, if you desire.
Might not be the easy answer, but it's all I can offer.

I asked this over in the iTunes area but was sent here for your thoughts.

if you're sure it was iTunes, and not something else, they probably used a video switcher/mixer and overlayed the text from one computer onto the background from another.
The other poossiblity is that they used an app like Easyworship or Mediashout (both are windows only though) to take a video clip that looked to you like itunes, and put that behind the lyrics. There ARE mac apps that can do this with canned video, though they just aren't as slick yet as the pc apps that are out there.
    I maintain a list if you're interested:

  • My iMac (2007) keeps shutting off when in Full Screen mode (DVD, iTunes Visualizer, etc.) This only happens when I have an external monitor hooked up HDMI.

My iMac (2007) keeps shutting off when in Full Screen mode (DVD, iTunes Visualizer, etc.) This only happens when I have an external monitor hooked up HDMI. Help?

Try using another connection such as VGA or DVI to see if the problem repeats itself.

  • Itunes visualizer on music playback with apple tv

Do any of you clever people out there know if it's possible to have the itunes visualizer playing on the TV instead of a photo slide show? I can get it working if I wired the TV directly to my macbook pro but not when I link it through the apple tv. Fantastic bit of kit apart from that.

Frankly I find it quite astounding this isn't possible..? Right now I'm using Air Parrot to stream my audio en video of my Mac to the Apple tv. It works ok, but this isn't what I expect from Apple.
I want to be able to do this out of the box.
Music visualization is very inspirational, it should be part of Apple. Next to that I think there's tons of people who would buy an Apple TV just for this one option. Talking about finding your niches. You could convince a very enthusiastic group of people with just this feature.
Mountain Lion will also feature this kind of mirroring possibility, so that would make it a lettle better. But still, it wouldn't benefit someone streaming from theor iPhone, iPad, iPod or listening to a radio stream.
I'd like a feature where I can choose to activate visualizations whenever I want and use different, community created visualizations, just like I can in iTunes.
    Apple please fix this?!

  • ITunes Full Screen with Dual Monitor Setup?

This seems like a poor design choice but I can't figure out any way to turn it off. Seems stupid if you can't...
If you have two monitors plugged in and try to watch a movie in itunes (or the visualizer) in fullscreen, it will go full screen on one monitor fine, but it also makes the other one go black and unusable.
Does anyone know a way to make iTunes go full screen in only one monitor without pointlessly rendering my second monitor useless? It would be nice to be able to browse the web or do work on one monitor while having the iTunes visualizer (or watch a TV show) on the other monitor. Quicktime pro does this without any issues.
    Thanks.

For your wallpaper drag the window to cover it.
What I mean is that I don't see how you can do what you want, cause when you watch someting full screen you usually don't want to see your wallpaper on your second screen. And that if you want to work on your second screen you won't mind not having it full screen.
QT pro will allow what you want cause it assume that you are working on your movie.

  • Does anyone else have this problem with the iTunes visualizer?

I rarely use the iTunes visualizer but, when I do, it gives me the option of either using the newer one or the classic one. I like to use the new one but the problem is that I can only go to "visualizer options" if I am using the classic one. In said options I could set it so that the song info (song title, artist, album title and artwork) stays in the bottom left corner for the entire song. The few times I use the visualizer, I do like to have it up for the whole song--I just think it looks cool, I don't know...
Anyway, since I can't get the options for the new visualizer, the song info always fades away after the first five seconds or so of the song.
Anyone else realize this?? And does it annoy anyone else lol?

Well, I did a search on apple.com and found this:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-news/2010/04/the-hidden-itunes-visualizer-con trols.html
"The Visualizer -- graphics that swoop and pulse with the music -- has been part of iTunes' DNA from the beginning. And because its creators wanted to interact with the graphics in real time as well as watch them, Visualizer includes some single keystroke commands that change what you see while it runs. But these commands are hidden by default lest they obstruct the graphics.
Use the Show/Hide Visualizer command in the View menu to turn Visualizer on and off, and use the Visualizer menu to select among the choices. If the choice you're using has hidden commands you can see them for a brief time by typing ? while a song is playing and Visualizer is visible. The keystrokes will work regardless of whether the help menu is showing, so if you memorize them it's possible to add Virtuoso Visualizer Player to your list of accomplishments. (For the Visualizer choice called Jelly, available only in iTunes for Mac, try holding the keys down, especially the number keys, for maximum effect.")
    Not that you care. >.<

  • Screen Saver with iTunes Visualizer

Does anyone know of a program/script/screen saver package that will allow the screen saver to automatically activate the iTunes Visualizer on the Mac?

I'm sure there's got to be an easier way for free
I don't know about easy, but delving into the power of OS X is a good idea. Automator actions seem to need a double click or input--in this case from screensaver.
Have you tried asking in the Automator folder?
Also have you noticed all screensavers, save for Flurry and RSS Visualizer are pictures?

  • ITunes Visualizer on External Display Blacks Out Main Display

Is it possible to have the iTunes Visualizer full screen on an external display while keeping the main display active?
In other words, I'd like to have my 2nd monitor display the iTunes Visualizer in full screen while I do work on my main screen. Every time I try this it forces the main screen to go black.
Does anyone have a solution, or is this just the limitations of iTunes and/or the Mac?
(By the way, the closest I've come is to put the iTunes window on the 2nd display, start the visualizer, and make its window as large as it will go. But, you still see the top of the iTunes chrome above and below the visualizer.)

I realise this is an old post, but have not yet seen an explanation of how I have solved this problem.
Its not a complete solution as it only works if you want to use iTunes, and does require an iPad or an iPhone.
First configure the Apple remote App on your iPhone, or iPad, or both   iPad is best, but iPhone works almost as well.
Check that you can control the music from your i'Device'
Drag the iTunes window onto the external screen/projector.   I am assuming external monitor with a different screen geometry to main screen, but if you can handle some gaps, you can mirror displays just as well.
Turn on the Visualiser - and put it into full screen.
If you can't see the external screen the following short cuts are useful.
    ⌘T - turn on Visualizer
^⌘F - turn on Full Screen
Your main screen will blank out, but you will still have full control of your music from the Remote App.
Very cool if you are having a party, and want the visualiser on the large LCD TV, or on a projector.

  • Screen Scrambles when Itunes Visualizer is turned on Full Screen

I have been having a laundry list of problems with the new imac. One bug I noticed yesterday was that if I am listening to music in itunes, turn on the visualizer and then set it to full screen, everything scrambles on the monitor. I was using my airport express to listen to the music, but I don't know if that has anything to do with the issue. Has anyone else has experienced this bug or is it just my imac. Please let me know.

I assume by scramble you mean that the files on the desktop get moved to a new location on the desktop. The full screen iTunes visualizer runs at a smaller resolution than what you usually run it at. One consequence of this is that everything on the desktop has to be moved so that it fits within the bounds of the screen.

  • ITunes visualizer problems...

Whenever I try and run iTunes visualizer on a secondary monitor, my entire computer lags extremely badly, as in the mouse no longer moves smoothly, however if I simply drag it over to my primary monitor I receive no issues. I have tried disabling directX and that did not change anything. Its not a refresh rate issue or something along those lines because I can watch full screen video in a variety of different media players on it and not receive any lag. I receive the same problem if I try and watch a video from my iTunes movies library on my second monitor (not on the primary), but its nowhere near as bad, it only is annoying watching video, not unusable like it is with the visualizer.
I have a Radeon X550 if its a problem with the video card.

if I switch which monitor is primary, it works on the second monitor(the one that used to be secondary), yet it still messes up on the secondary(the one that used to be primary)
