Itunes volume adjust doesn't take in ipod

i ripped an audio book on my imac because the optical drive on my powerbook stopped working. then i moved the audio book over to my powerbook and put it on my ipod. the volume was too soft so i adjusted it in itunes and resynched.
there was really no change except that on my ipod, when i turn up the volume, the volume stops increasing when the volume slider is about halfway across the screen. the slider keeps moving, but the volume stops increasing.
what can i do? any thoughts? help!!

No, I'm in Australia. Itunes 'volume adjustment' USED to work...but it *doesn't* anymore...;/??
I even updated the latest itunes...but still *nothing*

  • Glitch with iTunes Volume Adjustment.

I'm having this tiny glitch with the volume adjustment feature in iTunes. I have certain songs that are too soft, so I turned the volume adjustment on those songs to 100%. I sync those songs to my iPhone 3GS running 5.0.1. However, after those songs finish playing, the next song that plays will also be adjusted to 100%, even when I didn't make it that way. Only way to rectify this is to choose another song from my music list on my iPhone, making the volume back to normal.
It's a minor annoyance, but one nonetheless. I have my playlist on shuffle, and everytime I hear a song which I know I adjusted to 100%, I know I have to choose another song from my playlist because the next song that comes after that will be insanely loud.
If anyone can provide me with a solution, it is greatly appreciated.

Never mind, resyncing seems to have solved the problem.

  • Itunes 7.5 doesn't recognize by iPod nano (2nd gen)

After upgrading to iTunes 7.5, my Macs won't recognize the presence of my iPod nano. The iPod knows its connected, because the battery is charging, but iTunes doesn't know it's there and so can't sync. Any ideas?

This sounds like what my iPod Classic was doing a few weeks ago (before the 7.5 release of iTunes.) In my case, it turned out to need a simple reset of my iPod...
Read http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61705 and see if that helps any. If not, take a look at which version of the iPod software yours is running... I know there were a few bum version numbers out for a short while... at least for the Classic.

  • Contact Itunes Support link doesn't take you anywhere

Apple must have some server issues, since we can't get any real support for the inability to download TV episode in SD versions  issue, thye must have shut off the link to take you to their "contact iTunes Support" link

I don't know what link you were attempting to use, but go here:

and follow the instructions to report your issue to the iTunes Store.

If you have made sure that both the iTunes and iPod software are current and have deauthorized and reauthorized your computer, try this test:
    1. Deauthorize the computer.
    2. Create a new user in the system.
    3. Download the free song of the week from the iTMS in the new user account.
    4. Play the song in that user account to authorize again.
    5. Restore the iPod (using the iPod updater) in the new user account.
    6. Sync just the free song of the week and see if it plays on the iPod.
If it does, you appear to have a corrupted iTunes library file, and you should recreate the iTunes library file in your normal user account, and then sync your music back to the iPod and all should be well.
The following articles will help you.

  • 'Volume Adjustment' effect is different between iTunes and iPod

I spent weeks using the 'Volume Adjustment' option on hundreds of quieter albums in my library to consistently match the louder volume levels of newer albums of my library. I wanted playback to be even across the board of my entire library. Some needed a small percentage of increase, some needed the maximum. To my ears' content, I played each adjusted album back in iTunes through powered monitors and studio headphones to make sure each album was just right.
To my horror, after I sync my new library to my newly wiped and restored 5th gen. iPod Classic, the 'Volume Adjustment' effect is multiplied and the playback on anything that was adjusted is ridiculously louder than even the originally loudest album I have. I am also using the same headphones with my iPod that I used to adjust the albums in iTunes on my MacBook Pro.
So pretty much my question is, "what the ****?!"
In iTunes, the 'Volume Adjustment' is great, and playback is perfectly even across the board while I am actually playing back in iTunes. Either I need to go back and change each and every album I adjusted to a much lower adjustment and have to deal with quiet playback in iTunes once again or I can get ear-blasted by my iPod during track changes yet still enjoy the even sound levels in iTunes. I playback in iTunes as frequently as I use my iPod.
There is no grey area and I am sad about this :'( Why is there no consistency? Has this been discussed before or does anyone have a solution?
    Thanks for your time,

i don't own a classic but you might want to see if you find a +sound check+ setting on it. you may want to enable sound check in iTunes and the iPod.
additionally, you might want to check out iVolume.

  • New iTunes on Mac doesn't allow me anymore to select all songs and 'Get info' to adjust the volume, like the old one. It says"your selection contains more than one type of media". They are all songs! Help please!

Not true. Select "Kind" as a sort category by right clicking the headings
Then click to sort by Kind
If your Import Settings are for Apple Lossless, AIFF, AAC or whatever the majority of your files are, convert MP3s to that file type.
I've presently got 17,000+ files in my library, and they're ALL MP3 or M4B(Audiobooks). If they weren't when I got them, I converted them.  Saves a LOT of hassels with just this type of situation. Besides I have two non Apple MP3 players that WON'T work with other file types besides MP3 so, EVERYTHING I have has to be MP3.

  • ITunes / iPod randomly changes the "Volume Adjustment" setting to -100%

This is a strange, unnerving problem I've run into recently. I hope someone can help!
A few (5% or so?) of my song files were nearly inaudible after transferring them to my iPod - even though they sounded fine before the move. I finally (after deleting many good files) discovered that the "Volume Adjustment" setting on these files was somehow moved all the way down to -100%. Does anyone know how or why this might be happening?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The same thing goes for the EQ Preset setting.

  • My 6th generation ipod nano volume adjusts itself and turns down volume without me touching it.  This is the second ipod on which this has happened. I can't be the only one with this problem. Help!

My ipod nano 6th generation has started changing the volume while music is playing. It doesn't matter whether I am running or sitting.  It will turn volume down to zero in the middle of a song.  This happened on my last ipod a few months ago and I returned it and got a new one.  This is my second grey one.  I don't want to have to return it again, but I might.

Take your iPod Nano back to the Apple Store.  Let them see what you are seeing.  Only this time............
Prior to leaving the Apple Store:    ***Make sure you have the store staff power the iPod Nano up and demonstrate that it is indeed working properly to your satisfaction.***

  • Itunes messed up my restore and now doesn't see my ipod. What should I do?

I performed a restore on my Ipod Touch (bought new a couple of years back) and itunes tells me there was an error and the restore could not be completed. Nice that it still manage to delete all my information, contacts and goodness knows what else (I chose to backup my files using the itunes function), btw.
Anyways, now my ipod just has the "connect to itunes" picture. My PC doesn't recognise my ipod, apart from Apple Mobile Device under USB controllers in the Device Manager, and itunes doesn't see or try to do anything with my pod so that I can use it.
I've tried this solution http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 but that didn't help and I reinstalled itunes and Apple Mobile Device Support, but to no avail.
What should I do? I'm using Windows 7 HP x64.

    Put it in DFU mode.
It's a common thing among jailbreakers. No one else really needs it, but it should allow your iPod to take the official firmware of your choice.
Here is a copy from a jailbreak help guide I will not link.
Please note that this will not jailbreak your device, so back off, moderators.
    Method (1)
    * Attach the phone to the pc
    * Turn the phone off
    * Hold power and home together for *exactly* 10 seconds
    * Release power but keep holding home until the pc beeps as a USB device is recognized.
    * At no point will the display come on. Now your restore should work.

  • The new version of iTunes doesn't recognize my iPod shuffles where the old version did. Can you help?

I downloaded the new version of iTunes today-it doesn't recognize my shuffles-the older version did. Can you help?

Ok people after messing up three days with my jailbroken ipod touch cauze my itunes didn't recognize it i figured out that the problem is first windows recognized it as a imaging device o as a camera, i found in the device manager was listed mi apple ipod under portable devices and there was the problem it has to be listed under universal serial bus controllers named as a apple ipod so this is what i did but first make sure u have correctly installed itunes and the apple mobile device support:
1 open the device manager or windows button + r is run and then type devmgmt.msc
2 look for the portable devices and find the apple ipod or wherever that is listed on your pc.
3 once u find the apple ipod do a right click on it and click on uptade driver software
4 take the manualy opcion or browse on my computer and then look for this folder on your computer C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
there should be the driver that itunes recognize and your windows wont recognize your ipod as a camera again but i repeat u have to make sure u have installed the apple mobile device support u can get it by extracting the itunes+quicktime package using winrar. so click on update or next what ever on the update process and next time itunes will open your ipod for sincying thanks to forums ilounge.com
