ITunes went blank after restoring iPhone
anyong know how to fix this problem?
is there anything i can do to fix this problem?
Not sure at this stage, but I'm keeping an eye out.
In the meantime, if you've got the time, would you mind submitting a bug report to the Apple folks? Here's a link to the iTunes product feedback form:

Itunes went blank after system restore
i did a system restore this morning and now itunes is blank -- no music, albums, artists, nothing. all of the music i had stored in itunes still appears on my ipod classic. my question is how to get it back into the itunes library. is there a way to copy it from the ipod to itunes? or do i need to reinstall itunes? if i do that, will i lose all the music already on the ipod?
*is there a way to copy it from the ipod to itunes? ............if i do that, will i lose all the music already on the ipod?*
If your iPod is set to sync automatically you need to take care connecting to an empty iTunes. You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows with iTunes installed hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys together. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer: iTunes - Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows
Alternatively open iTunes first and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices and check the box "Disable automatic syncing for iPhones and iPods" and choose Ok. Then connect your iPod.
If at any point you get a message that your iPod is linked to another library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod.
iTunes will only let you copy your iTunes Store purchases directly from an iPod to the computer, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
For everything else (music from CDs, other downloads and including iTunes purchased songs and in some cases, videos and games) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive -
Hi .. How can I get my photos on iphone, who went missing after restore.
hi...how can I get my photos on iphone ,who went missing after restore..
If they were in your camera roll when you lasted backed up your phone, restoring the backup should recover them.

After restoring iPhone 4, iTunes is telling me that my SIM card is not supported. It is the same SIM I have always used with this phone. What action can I take to convince phone that the SIM card is OK?
Hello again, update time.
Finally got to speak to a senior technical advisor at Apple today who was most confused until he back-tracked and double checked all the basics. He then realised that the actual serial number of my original phone (from the proof of purchase I sent him) was different to the one that they had recorded when they made the swap. I think he said it was out by one character and was actually showing as a mobile connected to AT&T (from the States). He said that the replacement phone was then set-up as per the serial number they had typoed into their system as locked to AT&T. The genius who did the swap at Apple Doncaster must have placed an unlock on it at the time in order for my 3 SIM to work at all. Therefore when I restored it, it returned to the settings of the incorrect original phone serial number!
So... Apple tech advisor said he can rectify the records and re-set the factory setting to an Australian iPhone on the 3 network within 12-24 hours. Fingers crossed all is good by tomorrow afternoon.
Thanks for your suggestions though, I had been trying everything to get it to work as I'm sure you know how hard they are to live without once you've got used to living with one!
Cheers, Tom. -
Itunes error 1 when restoring iphone to 7.1.2
So i got a iphone 4s from my friend he told me he was upgrading and his power went out when was upgrading to 7.1.1.He gave the iphone to me to see if i could try to fix it.It is stuck at the connect to itunes screen so when i upgrade to 7.1.2 in Itunes it stops at "Restoring Iphone Firmware" and says error 1 .If tried it on 3 different computers,I used oem cables.
I have the update Itunes
I have the latest java(i dont know if it affects)
I restarted my computer
The only i thing i have plugged in is the iphone itself( im using a laptop)windows 8.1
If anyone can help me to solve my problem .
Thanks in advance. In the article Resolve iOS update and restore errors this is what it says about error 1:
Check for hardware issues
Related errors: 1, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 1000, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, or 1669.
These errors mean that your device or computer may have a hardware issue that's preventing the update or restore from completing.
Check that your security software and settings aren't preventing your device from communicating with the Apple update server.
Then try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good.
Confirm that your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers.
If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support. -
when i pluged my ipod classic 5g to PC then it shows “iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. you must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes”?then after restoring the PIOD when IPod restarted then Itunes again detect the same ERROR.
If you are using XP, and you went through the procedure at the bottom of the previously linked document to change the iPod's assigned drive letter, and you also tried putting it into Disk Mode...
If you have not already, try shutting down your computer and disconnecting all USB devices, including hub. Start up with only standard keyboard and mouse connected. Just to be safe, put the iPod into Disk Mode again
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1363
Run iTunes. Connect iPod to a direct USB port on computer. iTunes may prompt you about "recovery" and ask you to do a Restore. Try to do a Restore again. -

Hi, I'm having problems with my iPod Touch. My iPod went off because the battery was empty. And when I tried connecting it to my laptop to recharge, the "connect to iTunes" screen suddenly appeared. According to iTunes I need to RESTORE it for it to work. And that's exactly what I did. However, after the restore and all, the screen is still stuck on the "connect to iTunes" screen.
By the way, it's a 2nd generation iPod Touch. And it's an MC model.
And to make things worse, my iTunes screen is totally empty. The RESTORE option is gone and I really don't know what to do anymore.
Hope you guys can help me out! I'd really appreciate it. Thank you!I really don't know what happened but my iPod Touch is working now!!! Thank you so much! I'm not really sure if it went to DFU mode or not but all of a sudden I can access iTunes App Store already!!! WOOOOAAAAHHHH! And it asked me to type in a new name for my iPod! So everything's good! Thank you so much! Thank you! You have no idea how happy I am right now!
For my iTunes:
Thank you!
P.S: Grrrrrrrr! My bad! I'm new here and I kind of messed up the Correct Answer and Helpful Answer buttons. Sorry. Dunno how to change them. -
I was trying to upgrade my iphone 4 to the isos 5, everything was done on the PC. After it was done i thought it was working, but the screen went blank and this wat it says. SIM not Valid... please help me, that's the only phone i have.
If your iPhone was hacked to be unlocked to use with any carrier's SIM card, you just re-locked the iPhone to the carrier the iPhone was sold as carrier locked when new.

ITunes error -1 when restoring iPhone from backup after iOS5 update
If no one can help me fix this hopefully somebody might at least be able to tell me what -1 error means!
I have an iPhone 3GS and before i updated to iOS5 i upgraded my itunes on my Mac and synced and backed up everything. I did the iOS5 update which went fine and i have it installed on my phone. When i went to restore from backup it looked like it was working for 2mins then it comes up with the error message saying unable to restore from backup (-1). I have done this a good few times now all with the same result. Any suggestions? Everything has been completely wiped from my phone and im desperate to get it all back.yeah mine is back to this
iTunes was interrupted while restoring the contents of the iPhone “xxxxxxxxx'x ' iPhone”. Would you like to restore this iPhone again now?
How do you get help around here? -
Screen went blank after iOS7 install
I was successful in upgrading to iOS7 on my iphone 4s but then while browsing the screen went blank. With a blank screen, I can not turn off - should I reset?
you are aware that while Applejack worked great on our PowerMacs, it had to be updated for Intel and also that you would now need versions of anything that are Snow Leopard compatible.
Seeing it was running or had 10.4.6+ minimum, that could mean that the disk drive is also just as old. Not that it died, I still keep some around for backup and such going back even further.
But did you ERASE the hard drive with SL DVD before installing? that way works better as there are changes in disk structure and partitions and works better than not doing so, and definitely better than an upgrade in place. Setup Assistant can help immport what you need.
You might want to clone the system to a new drive anyway now that it does boot. You can do so with the DVD and DU Restore, or with SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner. CCC is no longer 'free"/shareware but has been improved and supports Lion+ much better, and easy to use to selectively copy - like to not move non system, and move those to a data-only drive.
just some ideas. -
Retrieving paid applications after restoring iphone
hi
while updating my iphone to to the latest software, it encounter an error & i had to restore the phone. had installed some applications & purchased a game but all wiped out after restoring... how do i get the paid game application (cooking mama) loaded to my phone... i hope i dont have to pay for it again cos i've not even had the chance to play with it. my iphone is just 2 days old & i cant understand why error occurs while updating to latest software version. some one pls help.
thanksOnce you purchase an App it's yours, you can re-download it as many times as you like w/o being charged. To prevent this in the future you should transfer purchases from your phone to iTunes so there's a backup for you.

Can't drag music from iTunes to iPod after restore and sync
I did a restore on my 80 Gb iPod classic because the 'catalog' became disorganized. The restore (from latest iTunes under Win7) and the sync/loading of songs seemed normal. The iPod works completely normally EXCEPT when connected to iTunes. Then, I can no longer drag albums to the iPod and the iPod song display is in grayed text instead of black.
My only theory is that I may have responded to a dialog box during sync which showed my very old and no longer used apple ID. iTunes uses my current ID.
If that IS the case, how do I fix it? Or, what other kinds of things could be wrong?Probably. I ran in that mode since the thing was new, only changing after restore because sync is the default and when I uncheck sync music there is this ominous dialog box saying that 'not sync' will cause all of the content to be removed (or words to that effect).
I'll mess around a little. The worst thing that could happen is losing this tound and going back to restore!
Thanks
Joe (miniuls)
