ITunes Wi-Fi Sync Not Working

I am unable to perform a wi-Fi sync from either my iPad2 or my iPhone4 (IOS 5). Any suggestions on resolving this issue? I've followed the directions being connected to power and my MacBook with iTunies up and running. The button on both devices is grayed out.

The issue has been resolved. It helps to double check but I was sure I checked the box to activate "Sync over Wi-Fi." anyway it's working fine now.

Itunes Wi-Fi Sync not working on Ios6. It was working with Ios 5.

    OK OK OK
I tried all of the above ideas
    none worked for me!
I had already re booted, but I rebooted again, the phone, router, comp (iMac)
I changed the name of my phone, I had a lot of hope riding on that idea, it sounded good, but (sigh) no go!
    finally I got it working
this is what I did, I hope it works for you (at least on a Mac)
    open
    system preferences - Sharing
I clicked on internet sharing, but did not 'tick' the box (mine was off & is still is off now)
I 'ticked' the Wi-Fi tick box
and got out of preferences (i did not 'tick' the internet sharing box, dunno if that is importiant, just what i did)
my iphone 5 popped up in iTunes over Wi-Fi in like 5 seconds and has stayed there since i did a wifi sync
    happy days

  • ITunes wi-fi sync not working?... Help my solve my problem.

    Firstly, i have:
    Apple iPhone 4
    Apple iPod Touch 3rd Generation
    iTunes 10.5.1
    iOS 5.0.1 on both devices
    Windows 7
    Cisco linksys e1200 Wireless Router
So this has worked before, but its not working now that i've gotten a nwe router.
I DO have the box Checked on the Summary for my devices "sync this... over with wi-fi"
Since im doing everything right, howcome it ain't working.
In your responses, please don't say, " Have you checked the box that says "sync this...
over with wi-fi" -Like i said, i DO have it check for BOTH devices.

Same here when i update itunes to 10.5.1.42 the first time work great but now nothing happens. I got linksys e1200, ipod 4g and ipad 2g i dont find what happen

  • ITunes Wi-fi sync not working like it should.

So I got a new ipod touch 4th generation because my other one broke. I'm trying to set up wifi sync so I don't have to connect the device to the computer incase it malfunctions. Half the time it doesn't work, and if it does work, I still have to connect it directly to the computer. Sometimes I use wifi sync the first time and it doesn't work, then I plug it into my computer and it detects it. Then I unplug it and use wifi sync and it works like it should. So it kind of defeats the purpose of using wifi sync if everytime I want to sync content through wifi, I'm forced to connect the ipod to the computer. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Please Help!
Also, my Ipod is not even a month old and is working like new. It is refurbished.

I have tried to sync it using iTunes match, this did not work. I would like to have access to my full library without going into the user profile of my old computer, which is on my new computers hard drive. I would like to eventually delete the old profile so that I have more space on my hard drive.

  • Wifi Sync not working on iOS 6 and iTunes 10.7 with iPhone 4S

I am running Windows 7 64-bit but WiFi Sync is not working on either my iPhone 4S or my wife's iPhone 4S.  Worked fine before upgrading.  All settings look correct in iTunes 10.7 and on our iPhones 4S's.  Already tried uninstalling iTunes and all associated Apple programs (Bonjour, Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Application Support, etc) and reinstalling iTunes but no help.  Temporarily disabling Norton Firewall did not help.  If I hook up either of our two 4S phones via USB wire, they Sync and Backup fine.  Just WiFi Sync not working.  Can't initiate sync from iPhones because button is ghosted stating it is waiting for PC to be present.  Phones don't show up under Devices in iTunes unless hard-wired via USB cable.  Any suggestions?

I am getting sync issues too (although on OSX) - seems like others are getting issues too:

    Hello, flippytippi.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I would need a little more information regarding what exactly you are experiencing when attempting to sync photos to better assist you.  However, here is a troubleshooting article that I would recommend going through.

  • Wireless sync not working on my iphone 5

    Anyone else having this problem?

I have this issue with my iPhone 5 using IOS 6.1.4. My symptoms is that discovery intermittantly doesn't work. When the iPhone is on the network and visible in iTunes 10.7 sync will work fine. When it's not visible I don't get any sync going as the iPhone isn't found even if I restart iTunes. Also, initiating the sync from the iPhone doesn't work even if iTunes is open
I rarely restart the mac if ever. I see no clear reason except that the discovery phase is acting up. It could also be interference from neighbour networks.

    Hello 19Brenda94
Start with removing iTunes in the order of the first article states, which is iTunes, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour, Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later). Once that is done, then download iTunes 64 bit version from the second link below and run that installer.

Are you saying that you contacted Apple support and they instructed you to backup and restore your iPad? Or do you mean that you picked up this information from an online support article? If you spoke to an Apple rep or received these instructions via email, contact them again for further help.
I fail to see how restoring your iPad would enable yoyr Apple ID.
