ITunes Widget Builder bug

Oddly, when I went to this area (iTunes Widget Builder) http://widgets.itunes.apple.com/builder/, and began creating a widget by pressing the "Add/Edit Widgets" button, the message box under "Add Podcasts" asks me to "Start with the search bar, then select books to add to your playlist from the results."  It erroneously says "books", when it should clearly say "podcasts".
I found this while hunting around trying to find the place to sign up to sell podcasts on iTunes. Apple's "SellContent" page http://www.apple.com/itunes/working-itunes/sell-content/  does not even mention podcasts. But I did click on the "Learn More" and "Get Started" blue buttons and again "podcasts" are not listed anywhere except in the little drop-down box at the bottom, and that takes me to a login page with Apple ID, but every time I enter my Apple ID, it keeps telling me to create an iTunes Connect account and gives this message "Your Apple ID isn't enabled for iTunes Connect".   The problem is that nowhere do they lead me by providing a link to how to create that specific account for 'podcasts'.  They only have links for other categories like "music, movies, developers or TV shows.
If there is no link to create the account from "iTunes Connect Online Application", or from the other link above, then I don't know where it would be. So where is the page to create the proper iTunes Connect account specifically for Podcast content creators and sellers.

  • ITunes Widget

Having a problem with an iTunes Playlist Widget I built through http://widgets.itunes.apple.com/builder/.
It shows up in the web content box i've made, but sound will not play when the play button is pressed (despite the button turning blue to show that it has been engaged).
and before anyone suggests it...no, my ipad is not on mute.
    Any help/info is appreciated

I've done several tests with the iTunes widgets and by planting the iframe code in an HTML file  and placing it as a Web Content overlay, just to find out that:
    - The loaded widgets doesn't function on Android devices.
    - The iTunes Playlist widget previews doesn't play.

  • Widget Builder doesn't find my iBook

    Hello,
I am using the Widget Builder (https://widgets.itunes.apple.com/builder/) and it works perfectly EXCEPT that I cannot find all my iBooks!
My new iBook called Facioterapia - Dien Chan doesn't appear in the list of Add book
I have tried with many of the key words and also the Apple iD of the book but it never appears.
With the same criterions it appears perfectly in the LinkMaker or the iTunesStore
    Is there anything wrong?
    Thanks and best regards

im getting sick of this same problem. two weeks ago the battery stopped charing, so the Techs told me to remove the battery and hold down the power button for five secs. it worked... for a day...
the next morning (after doing a battery calibration) the computer turned on, but the battery icon came up with an X. the battery no longer charges, and i basically have a desktop now, cause i cannot use the battery at all.
this ***** because i was travelling for work all last week.
called Apple last night (4th time in two weeks, waited for 1 hour each time). we did some tests. nothing worked.
i had to argue with the Tech to get a new battery sent to me. she was saying i need to send it to an authorized tech person, which is impossible for me as im 500 miles from the nearest one and cant afford the down time. after all, i bought this thing to WORK on.
im getting sick of this. and now my screen has started to flicker.
will Apple take care of me? will they just send me a new machine if this one continues to get worse?
    damien

  • Okay, the iTunes 8.2 bug that I had on my iPod Touch is back with my iPhone

I have new iPhone 3GS that I picked up this morning at 7 am. I love it, but the iTunes 8.2 bug that is being thoroughly discussed in the iPod Touch forum is back and affecting my iPhone 3GS. I did read one random post that a Apple Tech Support person said to unplug the internet (disconnect your internet) before plugging it in. I don't know why, but it worked and makes me wonder if this will also work for iPod Touch users. Weird, but it is definitely a nice work around for now!

I got it again. I plug in the iPhone into my computer and it is telling that it thinks it is a camera because it is trying to launch Canon CameraWindow, MS scanner, Picasa3, etc. Then iTunes says, "An iPhone has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please, disconnect and reconnect the iPhone, then try again." Yes, I tried again, and completely uninstalled iTunes and all things Apple to only re-install it. I am at my whits end again!

  • Can Apple widget builder output to ibooks author?

I've searched around but haven't found any info about using the apple widget builder to create a html widget for ibooks author. I want the same result as cutting-pasting the iframe script (into a website) that automatically gets generated in the widget builder to be used in a book. I'm not familiar with how to use the auto-generated script and create a .wdgt file. I imagine this can be done in Dashcode. If anyone has experience with doing this, I'd appreciate some pointers.

    KT,
The Apple Widget builder just provides a string of HTML-encoded output that you cut-paste into a website - maybe a text widget in Wordpress, for instance.
For iBooks Author, you have to drag a .wdgt folder (with .PNG, info.plist, other files, etc.) into the HTML widget. If you cut-paste the HTML encoded output from the Apple Widget builder into the iBooks Author HTML widget, it doesn't work. You must use a .wdgt folder, and the Apple Widget builder does not appear to have an option to save as a .wdgt folder.
Maybe my question should be "Is there a process to use the HTML-encoded output from Apple Widget Builder, and create the necessary .wdgt folder for iBooks Author"

  • IWeb '09 and iTunes Widgets

Does iweb support the iTunes "my favorites" widget?
I copied the code from from my account page when I enabled MyiTunes and pasted it into a text box in iWeb. Is there something else I should do, edit, or change? All I get when I publish is the code in a text box.
    Thanks for any help!

I believe the specific name of the iTunes widgets I am referencing is "Publish to the Web"

  • Where is the iTunes Widget in Mountain Lion?

On the Apple website, it states there are several pre-installed widgets with Mountain Lion, including the iTunes widget (http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11233). However, when I open the dashboard, I cannot see the iTunes widget that I used to use all the time on Snow Leopard for playing iTunes songs/playlists etc...
I was able to download the iTunesTan widget from the Dashboard Widgets page of the Apple site (http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/?r=dbw). It works in a similar way, but what about the Apple version, is that still available?

Having done a bit more digging online, it seems that the iTunes widget was discontinued as of Lion. I intend to contact Apple Support to confirm this... but for now, it seems the closest thing to the iTunes widget that actually works on Mountain Lion is the "iTunesTan" widget.
This link provides a second link to a download of the iTunes widget taken from Snow Leopard: http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/19088/how-do-i-get-the-itunes-play-cont rol-widget-back-in-dashboard
If you have backups of a Snow Leopard system, you can also get a copy of the widget from your backup... but I have done that on Mountain Lion and the widget fails to work, so unfortunately the iTunes widget appears to be obsolete as of Mountain Lion.

  • My iTunes widget and iWeb '08

I was able to successfully embed the My iTunes widget into an HTML snippet in iWeb, and it works almost perfectly- I can see My Favorites crawling across the screen, and I can click on a name and have it bring up the album(s) I've purchased- but when I click on an album, it brings up the .Mac equivalent of the 404 error page- right inside that tiny little widget. I'm sure that the widget is supposed to bring up a new page- but how and to where, I haven't a clue. The My iTunes page gives no clue whatever as to what to do next. HELP!

Here's the update with mine: I ended up taking it off of my iWeb site finally because I would have to delete it and re-do it every single day. Not worth it if you ask me! I sent them feedback also, so hopefully the widget can get up and running again. Because when I first had it and it worked, it is really neat! People can see the songs/albums you are buying - really cool. Just wished the danged thing worked is all.
Please, if you are having trouble with your widget, send them feedback!

  • ITUNES WIDGET problem

I have this typical problem when I playing a play list from ITUNES widget.
When I pause the music from ITUNES widget and start the play - the ITUNES start from beginning of the LIBRARY instead of starting where it was paused.
It is weird. Every time it goes back to the library I will open the ITUNES main window and start the playlist from the beginning.

    Hi Cirque,
This really is a question that might get answered more quickly over in the iTunes section?

  • Itunes Widget Podcast Playlist Not Finding My Podcast

I am trying to setup a new Itunes Widget Podcast Playlist for my Wordpress site.
However, when I click on the add/edit button in the setup, it is not finding my podcast.
    Any suggestions?
    thank you,

I'm afraid I can't advise on this. You may do better to ask in the iTunes forum and I'll ask the Hosts to move this thread there.

  • ITunes widget problems.

I have never used the iTunes widget but now want to. I have the latest version of iTunes. Why is it that when I bring up the widget and click on the little i and it flips around and tells me to select a playlist it remains blank even though I have a bunch of playlists. Also, I want to keep it on top like it says in the Preferences in iTunes but it won't stay on top. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks.

  • ITunes Widget Crashing

since a few days my itunes widget isn't appearing in the dashboard. and everytime i try to open it up it disappears right after the water ripples.
any idea how to fix it?

nevermind, i noticed that the beta version of menufela caused this issue.

  • ITunes widget is screwy

My iTunes widget won't let me select a playlist. Also, it says that iTunes is not open - while I am in fact, listening to iTunes. So obviously iTunes IS open. Any idea what's going on?

    Hey there,
Have you tried resetting the widget by hitting Command-R when the dashboard is up?
Also, try killing the DashboardClient process through the Activity Monitor and restart it by opening the Dashboard again.
Try logging out and then back in too and see if that takes care of anything.
Otherwise, try deleting the dashboard preferences and relaunching the Dashboard by relaunching the Dock. These preference files are in your home/Library/Preferences folder and have the following names:
    com.apple.dashboard.client.plist
    com.apple.dashboard.plist
If you erase the plist files, you will have to reconfigure your dashboard again, just for a word of warning. See if that helps.

  • ICS Calendar Widget Date Bug

I'm running the .587 software release.
Today is 10th September. I added a new calendar event for 25th September to my Google calendar (all OK). I have the calendar widget on my homescreen and it shows "No upcoming calendar events" (as it should as there are no events in the immediate future). If I tap on "No upcoming calendar events" it will show me my next event (the one on 25th September) -- all good so far.
However, when I look at the details shown for this event it shows both the "From" and "To" times as "01:00, Thu, 1 Jan 1970"!!! (if I go through the Calendar app and not the widget the dates display properly as 25th September). This is extremely annoying, and it can also corrupt your calendar dates by replacing them with this 1970 date if you then go on to tap the "edit event" button.
    Please fix this bug!!!!

Have you also tried with other calendar widgets to see if the same problem occurs? It's wise to try so your able to sort out what might be causing the issue.
Try it out and let me know!
