Itunes wifi not up to date

Its wed. night at 9:45 and itunes on my iphone is still not showing the correct new releases. Anyone else? Am I doing something wrong?
iTunes on my mac is up to date.

My thoughts are - iTunes needs to be running on your computer when trying to connect. If it is running try to restart iTunes. If you using a Mac Quit iTunes. The little red button doesn't act the same as a PC. Also restart he Apple TV in the Settings menu.
Hope that helps

Follow these instructions. When you restore the iPod from backup as the article says your iPod will also be updated.

WWhen I connect my phone to iTunes. iTunes disconnects my phone and give me a message. The phones iTunes is not up to dat. How do I update without connecting to my computer.

You do not update iTunes on the phone. It is referring to iTunes on the computer. You can either go to the iTunes page to download, or when you have iTunes open, go to check for updates.

    Hello ambluth,
Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.  It sounds like you are not able to upgrade your version of iTunes. I found an article that provides steps on troubleshooting the installation of iTunes on a Mac computer:
Troubleshooting iTunes installation on Mac OS X
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2311
There may be multiple instances of iTunes on your computer and if iTunes is not in the Applications folder, it may not update.  The article I mentioned earlier suggests to try this:
    Opening iTunes
It's possible that clicking the iTunes icon in your Dock or double-clicking an iTunes icon on your desktop could open an older version of iTunes. Open iTunes from the Applications folder to be sure you are opening the right version:
    Double-click your hard disk.
    Double-click the Applications folder.
    Double-click the iTunes icon.
If that doesn't work, follow the steps in the article from the beginning.  The iTunes application is stored separately than your music, so as long as you don't delete the iTunes folder that contains the iTunes Media or iTunes Music folder, it should not effect your music.
    Best,
    Sheila M.

  • ITunes 9 not updating tag data when re-importing a CD

    Hello all,
With ALL previous versions of iTunes, when you re-import a CD and if you change the information (like the genre, etc.) iTunes would update the existing versions of the songs with this new data (it would also fill in the track x of n information). With iTunes 9, it seems to default to use the existing data instead of using the new data. Is there a way to get back the previous behavior as I want iTunes to update the old metadata with the new data (not keep the old stuff).
    Thanks,
    hmss007

If you insert a CD, it gets the info, you import it, change the info and then reinsert the CD and reimport, it will not reuse the info you changed. It will use the info from the CD.
This is how it has always been.
If the CD info is not correct, you need to change it before you import/reimport it.
If you have already imported and changed the info, you can use this script -> Copy Track Info to CD Tracks v1.3 to copy the changed info in Tunes to the CD, then reimport it.

  • Apple tv iTunes content not up to date

So I'm watching a show on my iPad on the train and then I get home and that show is _not_ listed in my episode list on my Apple TV.   Network connectivity is fine (Hulu Plus works, NetFlix works, older iTunes shows are there) but how do I force the Apple TV to check for the current episode list set?  I'm really not interested in fiddling with AirPlay...

OK, this is just weird.  So I went to "More on iTunes Store" and it wasn't there either.  Then I went to a different season pass and it is now current.  Went back to the original one that wasn't showing - still not there.  Back into "more on iTunes..." again, got the spinning wheel and (poof!) now the latest episode is listed...  more than a little odd.  But now I'm content for the moment...

  • ITunes not up to date in iPad, but updated on mac

My hard drive on my Mac was just replaced, and when I plugged in my iPad, it said that it couldn't connect, as my iTunes is not up to date. My iTunes on the Mac is up to date. Did the update a couple of times, and still getting the same error. I went and looked online and it tells me what to do, but nothing has worked. Unsure where to go or what to do. Please help.

I did it directly, and clicked on the software update button, and there was nothing new to be updated.  It should be brand new as my hard drive was just replaced, but I did notice that the OS X wasn't on here, like on the old one. could that be the issue? and how would I find out how old the operating system is? The Mac as a whole is only a year old.
I went into my app store and looked at purchases, and am going to re-download OS X Lion on here, and maybe that will help??? still unsure and don't know.

  • Why do I have to connect my ipad(4th gen) to my laptop to download apps? I downloaded some yesterday, but now they just say waiting. If I connect to ITunes, I can get them through that. I am not using cellular data, just through wifi.

Any ideas greatly appreciated, it will save me a journey to the apple store

I have now solved it. I signed out of my iTunes account and then held down both the power buttons until the apple appeared. When I signed back in it started downloading.

    One thing that might help.
    1. open itunes preferences from the edit menu and click on the devices tab.

    3. Then click the button to reset sync history.
    4. Now click ok to close the preferences window.
    5. connect the iphone to itunes and go to the info tab.
    6. scroll to the bottom of the info page and check the box to replace the ical data on the iphone.

    Hi Springbk,
If you've tried all of the troubleshooting in the previous article, including making sure the required ports are not being blocked, then I suggest you reach out for additional support by using another one of Apple's support resources - https://getsupport.apple.com/GetproductgroupList.action

It is required in order to sync with ios 7.

  • When I was talking on phone, suddenly the phone was switched off. i tried to switch it on but it gave the message....connect to itunes for set up.  when I connected it to itunes...it gave the message, itunes can not read data from this iphone, restore it

when I was talking on phone, suddenly the phone was switched off.
i tried to switch it on but it gave the message....connect to itunes for set up.
when I connected it to itunes...it gave the message, itunes can not read data from this iphone, restore it to factory settings. It also said while restoring ypu will lose all media data but you can restore the contacts.
I restored the factory settings....the phone was on recovery mode...it was verified by itunes and all that..but in the end it again said that iphone has some problem and can not function right now.
after that when ever i connect it with itunes, it gives the message, it can not activate the iphone further, try again later or contact customer service.
What to do now?????? Customer service people say..it is hardware problem

If it's a hardware problem, then the phone will need to be replaced.
There is no magic that can fix a hardware problem.

  • HT201413 suddenly itunes will not open and I get a message that the "Data Execution Prevention" is blocking itunes from opening....why????

itunes will not open and I get a message that the "Data Execution Prevention (DEP)" feature in Windows is preventing it from opening. (this is after I've been using itunes for years???? If I try to manually deselect itunes from the DEP filter, of course I get a message that itunes cannot operate without the DEP active...another Catch 22 from the evil program designers....

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.
