ITunes will not authorize a particular  song - weird alert

I have just bought legally the Beatles album Abbey Road  on iTunes and can play every song except:
You Never Give Me Your Money
Whenever I click on it, up comes this alert:
But putting in my Apple ID and password doesnt do anything but tell me that the computer is already authorized
Any suggestions appreciated
MS

I fixed the problem myself.  By wiping all the iPad content and doing a fresh resync, this got all my music back including the songs which were not syncing before.
Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase all Content and Settings
Upon reconnecting to iTunes, I was prompted with the option to restore from the last backup.  I selected my latest iPad backup, and then let the restore complete.  Resync'd apps and music as well.  Bingo!

If just one song on an album is doing that, that suggests the track is damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

  • ITunes will not authorize "Protected AAC" files

After dealing with this for a week, I'm going to try and seek help here.
Second Tier Express Lane Support Agent has confirmed that my iTunes will not authorize any "Protected AAC" files in my library (1303 files total).  They have no idea why and have referred me back to iTunes Store support, which has not been able to help.  None of the affected files are available for redownload from the iTunes Store.  None of the items are available as "iTunes Plus" downloads (according to iTunes Store).
When I try to play one of the affected songs (or videos), I am asked to authorize the computer by entering Apple ID and password.  Once I enter that information, I receive a pop up window that indicates the computer is already authorized and the file will not play.  Same thing when attempting to sync with an iPod.
I have tried the following steps in order to remedy the problem:
    Turn off User Account Control
Sign out then sign back in to iTunes store
Sign out, deauthorize computer, exit iTunes, delete the SC Info folder, restart computer, sign back in to the iTunes store, authorize computer
Uninstall iTunes, restart computer, install iTunes
    Restore library from backup
    Some additional information:
I am running the latest version of iTunes.
All songs were purchased using the same Apple ID (confirmed)
Incoming and Outgoing connections for iTunes are allowed in the firewall (and turning firewall off had no effect)
iTunes Store confirms only one computer is authorized
Previous version of iTunes was 10.0 (could that be part of the problem?)
Diagnostic information appears below.  Is anyone else having these problems?

    UPDATE:
This issue was finally resolved by a second level iTunes agent.
Apparently, we somehow had two iTunes accounts with the SAME APPLE ID, so it was necessary to change one of the Apple ID's to a different email address so the original account could be restored.  The downside is we now have two accounts rather than one, but the good side is, at least we have access to all our content again.
I hope this posting might help someone else with a similar problem.

  • I'f ITunes does not have a particular song

I have had very good luck with purchases from I Tunes, songs real clean without distortion. Can someone recommend another good music source for when ITunes does not have a particular song? Thanks

It depends what you are looking for. Amazon.com has an excellent selection of major label and independent music. Unlike iTunes, the amazon selection is at 256 K and is 100% non-DRM, so it makes sense to look there before iTunes.
Audiolunchbox.com and emusic.com specialize in independent labels and each have millions of tracks. Also there are literally hundreds of online stores that cater to particular styles and markets; a few I have successfully used are eclassical.com (classical) beatport.com (DJ music).

  • Itunes will not authorize apple tv

Has anyone experienced a similar problem?
    1)  We have 5 apple computers (4 computers and 1 mac mini server all running 10.6.8).  Additionally, we have 3 ipads, 3 iphones and 2 apple tvs (1st generation).  We consolidate all of our movie purchases on to the server.  All 5 computers are authorized for home sharing.  At various times, if we are traveling, we will download a movie on one of our laptops.  Later we move it to the server (to have everything in one place).
    2)  We have recently encountered an issue where movies purchased on itunes will not stream to the apple tvs.  Specifically, a message appears on the apple tv that a movie is not authorized.  The movies stream fine to the ipads (via our wireless network).  This seems to be a recent issue as before the recent upgrades to itunes, this was not a problem.
    Has anyone else encountered this?
If so, what did you do to get the movies to play on the apple tv?
    thx.

Thanks; however, this did not work.
More specifically, by removing the SC Info folder, the situation gets worse.  By doing so, itunes purchased movies (that I previously was able to view) can not be streamed to the apple tvs.

  • Previously purchased iTunes will not authorize or play

    Hi,
I am having an iTunes Authorization problem.
In the past I purchased 55 songs from iTunes using the account name I had at that time (also my email at that time). Later I signed up for a .Mac account and got a new email and I changed my iTunes account name to that new email. I purchased items under this new name. Everything was fine ( i.e. - I could play all of my music ) until I downloaded and installed the latest iTunes 7.0.1. Playing of all music and syncing to my iPod was working fine even after I installed iTunes 7.0.0.
Here is what is happening now:
Items purchased from iTunes under the current iTunes account name play fine on my Mac and transfer to my iPod.
Items purchased in from iTunes under my former iTunes account name will NOT play on my Mac and I get a message when I try to sync my iPod saying that I am not authorized to play 55 items and that they will NOT be transferred to my iPod. When I try to play one of these 55 songs on my Mac I get the pop-up asking me to authorize the old iTunes account name. When I type in the password iTunes says the account does not exist and authorization fails. So I CANNOT play any of these 55 songs that I purchased.
What can I do to fix this ? I have 55 songs that I paid for from the Apple iTunes store that are now rendered worthless to me. Please help !!

I've already tried the DVD drive with the same results. iTunes also will not burn from the library or an inserted disc. Other programs allow me to burn CD's, but not DVD's. (That's a whole other problem...) Since other programs will rip and burn, that would mean the problem is with iTunes, not the drives, no? I've also tried to uninstall and reinstall iTunes to no avail. Quite frustrating.

  • ITunes will not authorize certain apps

I got a new MacBook Pro and an iPod touch. I tried transferring all my apps from my old computer, but only some of them will load onto my iPod. I have authorized my new computer. It keeps telling me I'm not authorized.

Sounds similar to this other post - I notice your screen name contains AOL.
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=11552804#11552804
There have been quite a few reports of songs purchased with old AOL itunes userIDs not getting authorized properly.
My advice is to contact itunes store support. The link is in that other thread.

  • Itunes WILL NOT recognize CD or song names!!

I have tried EVERYTHING and itunes still isn't recognizing an audio cd until I open it manually, and then it doesn't bring up the album name, or the song names.. I dont know what else to do! I've looked at all the support sites and none of the suggestions will work.. someone PLEASE help..... I have the latest itunes and everything... i uninstalled itunes and reinstalled it with the brand new CD and it still wont work! help!

I had the exact same problem. To fix it I had to put a CD in the drive. Then right click on the cd icon in iTunes and select elect CD. This will kick the cd and once you put a new CD in the drive it should recognize it. As long as you have access to the internet you should be seeing the song names.
Note: The internet will not find track listings for burnt compilation cds or even complete cds that the songs were downloaded individual and illegally from a peer to peer sharing program.

  • Itunes will not authorize apps from previous purchases onto iphone 4s ios 7

I keep getting the same warning regardless of how many times I enter/authorize the computer. I had my apps saved to an external hard-drive and copied them over to iTunes. It's not just this app, but all of them from previous purchases, free and paid. I tried to get them from my old 3g iphone, but iTunes would not reconize the apps. It shouldn't be this hard.

Have you restored as a NEW device (not from a backup) to test?

  • Itunes 10.5 will not authorize any new songs downloaded even though my computer is authorized

Let me put this in perspective I am currently stationed in Afghanistan and I am using incredibly slow internet. I go to download a new album off of Itunes on a computer that is already authorized. I download 5 songs so and I go to play one of them, voila one of them plays! Then I go to play another...it says I need to authorize this computer....ok I sign in....it says already authorized. Ok lets try the song again....nope not authorized. So I look online for solutions...this is what I have done.
    1. I checked the song info to make sure it was not bought under another account...nope...same account I am signed under
    2. I deauthorize, restart the application and reauthorize...still does the same thing
    3. I go into SCFILE folder and delete it, restart, reauthorize....still the same problem
    4. Now I can't get my downloads back...the **** song is not working and I am out of options and $15
***! Apple, I am seriously going to can my account and start downloading illegally. (No Interpol here)

Another weird thing.....in song info for the one that works...it say purchased by "my name"
The ones that don't dont even say purchased by.

  • ITunes will not Authorize songs

I have tried several times to get this to work and I have already tried deauthorizing as well
When I try to play songs that were originally purchased on my G5 in the iTunes library (I transferred everything onto my new Macbook Pro using the firewire method) I am asked to Authorize over and over again. Even though I login and get the message that 1 computer of my 5 available is Authorized.
What is going on with this?

Thanks...Unfortunately I already tried that and it didn't help either. I should have put that in the original post.

  • Itunes will not stop downloading a song Help!!!

I can't get itunes to stop downloading a song. I have tried everything I know how which probably isn't much, however it isn't fixing the problem. Please someone tell me what to do!

In a peculiar twist, in 11.1.1 two particular podcasts (Science Friday audio & video) have two particular weeks of episodes (one was last week, so it may extend to the future as well) that won't delete permanently.  When you delete the already played episodes, they just download again on a refresh.  That behavior is described in lots of places.  I thought it might be a bug in the RSS code, but I've compared SciFri with some others that don't have the problem and can't identify anything glaring.
The peculiar twist is that if I mark the already listened to episodes as Played (so I don't have to look at the large counter number), after awhile they show up as unplayed again!  Some bit deep down in the iTunes innards is not sticking as it should once episodes are played, and it's apparently an intermittent issue that affects only certain podcasts.  One would think it couldn't have anything to do with the actual audio or video content, so it must have something to do with the XML or the metadata being read or set wrong.
Very vexing, because without constant policing, downloads and disc space keep accumulating - a problem for those on limited data plans.

  • ITunes will not display ringtone eligible songs

My iTunes music folder has suddnely decided to not display which songs that can be converted to ringtones. I have clicked on the bell icon and restarted iTunes and rebooted my machine but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

Mine also no longer displays the bell icon. I go to iTunes, see if the song in the Store has a bell, and then make a ringtone, or just go and click create ringtone from the menu, and if it lets me, I know I can, and if it doesn't, I know I can't. A hassle, but I've tried everything to get those bells back and I have yet to find a way.

  • ITunes will not sync a particular album to my iPad

This may be a kind of newbie question, but I cannot figure out why one of my Madonna albums (Hard Candy) won't transfer to my iPad.  The same album syncs to my iPhone successfully.
The iPad has 10 GB of free space.  I verified that it is configured to sync "Entire Library".  When I open iTunes and connect the iPad, I can browse to the "On this iPad" screen and see the missing album, but it is greyed out.
What is this greyed out stuff about?  I've tried rebooting my PC and also the iPad, but the missing tracks never sync up.  Maybe my iPad is trying to tell me something
I have 3 Madonna albums in iTunes on my PC.  The iPad Music app says I have 4 albums for this artist, which is wrong.  Still, when I browse the Madonna albums in the iPad it shows only 2 of them, and not Hard Candy.
Please, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Jeff

  • My iTunes will not sync any new songs that I've put in onto my phone.

My iphone 5s hasn't been backed up to my Icloud because my Icloud doesn't have enough space BUT I don't see how that correlates to Itunes not syncing my new music onto my phone. I have around 8 GB left on my phone so there shouldn't be a problem. Even when it says that it has synced, I'll go onto my music on my phone and it won't have those songs in the recently added playlist or on my phone at all.
