ITunes will not Complete Loading 80GB IPod

ITunes has 6619 items (music) IPod gets to 6617 items and seems to "cycle" at that point and not complete loading the other two items. Based on ITunes data these two missing items amount to 0MB; and, I cannot find what they are. Because the IPod does not "complete" the transfer of the music files, it does not go on to transfer the photos or contact files. While on ITunes, checking the progress (goes for hours "cycling") I get an error message "Windows No Disk", "exception processing message c00000b parameters 75b6bf9c 4 75b6bf9c 75b6bf9c". I do not know for sure what is generating this error message (it comes up while checking the status of the photo file synch). The proper location of the photo files has been accurately identified for synching
How do I synch the ITunes/IPod libraries completely
Or, how do I have the IPod ignore the "missing two files" so that it can go on to complete transfer of photos and contact files?
If I could sort the IPod music library by size (or some other criteria) I might be able to identify those two missing files in the ITunes music library; but I am unable to do any sorting in that regard while the IPod is connected to the computer (and it is not possible to sort that way from the IPod seperate from the computer). As it stands right now, the IPod will never complete synching procedure (even if I "tell" ITunes to ignore synching of photo and contact files)
Any help would be appreciated.
Sincerely Jim

*Check iPod hard-drive for errors*
Hold Menu+Select on the iPod for about 6 seconds until it resets, then hold Menu+Play as soon as the Apple logo appears, again for about 6 seconds to put the machine in disk mode. Open iTunes and in the Sync tab of the preferences menu check *Disable automatic syncing of all iPhones & iPods*. Now connect your iPod to the computer, wait until it connects, then close iTunes. Browse *My Computer* and right-click on the drive for the iPod, click Properties, then click Tools. Under Error-checking, click *Check Now*. Under Check disk options, select *Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors* (Optional - takes ages but a good idea if you've reason to suspect physical damage). Click Start. Mac users should run *Disk Utility / Repair Disk* for the equivalent process. This should find and correct any errors in the logical & physical structures of your iPod's hard drive. Once these have been fixed you can reset the iPod (hold Menu+Select ) and should stand a better chance of a successfully adding data. You should probably check the hard drive with the source data as well.
I'm not sure if the iPod transfers in alphabetical sequence or in order of entry into the library. If you sort the library in a number of ways, such as Date Added or Album by Artist and see if the items at either end have made it onto the iPod you might get a clue as to which items aren't being synced.

    - Try here:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    - Next try a different computer to help determine if you have a computer or iPod problem.

  • ITunes will not complete installing!

I have had probelms installing iTunes for apx 2 years. (when version 6 was released).
So I thought I would try to install version 7.
I installed QuickTime v7.1 with not problems, however when I try to execute the "iTunesSetup.exe" it seem to reach the end of the install process and then I get a message stating that "The older version of iTunes cannot be unistalled".
I have gone thru all of the posts on this discussion and tried every trick mentioned when the 1603 error has occurred with other people. Yet it still will not complete the installation process.
I found the "iTunesSetupxxx.log" and displayed it to see what is occurring and it still has the 1603 error as being the last error. I have included the last part of that log below:
    fdintCOPY_FILE
file name in cabinet = QuickTime.msi
    uncompressed file size = 24522752
    fdintCLOSEFILEINFO
file name in cabinet = QuickTime.msi
    fdintCOPY_FILE
file name in cabinet = AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi
    uncompressed file size = 2078720
    fdintCLOSEFILEINFO
file name in cabinet = AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi
    fdintCOPY_FILE
file name in cabinet = iTunesSetupAdmin.exe
    uncompressed file size = 108096
    fdintCLOSEFILEINFO
file name in cabinet = iTunesSetupAdmin.exe
    Executing: "C:\WINDOWS\system32\msiexec.exe" /i "C:\DOCUME~1\JOE~1.CHA\LOCALS~1\Temp\IXP508.TMP\iTunes.msi"
    Returned: 1603
I have looked for the folder mentioned in the executing line and cannot locate it.
Anyone have any ideas that are outside of the normal posts listed in this forum?
I have deleted everything that is remotely related to iTunes, iPod, QuickTime, and even Apple from the registry after backing the registry up of course.
Yet I have not found a way to get around that 1603 error.
    Help!

I have investigated a little further on my initial point where I could no longer run iTunes. The last functioning version that I had installed was version 4.8. When I tried to upgrade to version 5, it gave me an error that some of the install files were corrupted and then it froze up. The only way it could be ended was by using task manager. From that point on I have had nothing but trouble. I tried to reinstall version 4.8 but I got an error on that as well. So ever since this occurred I have been trying the newest version just to see if it would accomplish the task of creating a functioning version of iTunes. Each time it will reach a certain point and give an error message about the older version could not be removed.
So that is my history on this issue.
Anyone out there have any ideas as to what I can do to at least get a version that will work installed?
Even it is the same steps that have been given before, at least I will know someone is actually listening to me and not igoring me like the apple support does.
    TIA!

  • IBook repaired, songs bought through iTunes will not transfer back to iPod

i found the way to get my songs from my iPod to my computer, but now all of the songs i bought through iTunes will not go back to my iPod. error message is "some of the songs, including "so-and-so" (actually it's Alice Cooper's Feed my Frankenstein :)HA!) were not moved to the iPod because you are not authorized to play them on this computer." the problem is, this is the same computer, it's just been wiped by Apple and i reinstalled everything. i see in one of these forums that you can apparently double click on the song to get it to transfer back, but i have about 3000 songs, so it's hard to tell what i bought from iTunes from what i had already. can anyone help me do this in one foul swoop? THANKS!

thanks. will try that when i get home.

  • Ipod will not turn on, itunes will not open, window says ipod is in recovery mode and needsto be restored

ipod will not turn on, itunes will not open, window pops up says ipod is in recovery mode and needs to be restored. what do i do now?

You restore the iPod via iTunes. Don't plug the iPod in. Open up iTunes and then plug it in and then try restoring, if it fails to restore a few times, keep trying. I do it on a daily basis, you're using an Apple product, remember...
EDIT: Do it from another computer if all else fails.

  • Itunes will not sync songs to ipod

I am using itunes 8 and have a 80gb classic ipod sixth generation. I cannot get over 400 songs to sync up from itunes to my ipod and there have been no error messages indicating that there is anything wrong with the songs themselves. In the past it had loaded up over 1700 songs with no problem. Please help me fix this problem.

Try restoring your iPod. Restoring will erase the iPod's hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions to name the iPod and automatically sync your songs and videos onto the fresh installation. Press Done and the iPod will appear in iTunes and start to sync. If you want to sync using selected playlists uncheck the box beside the sync automatically instruction and press Done, it will default to manual mode and you can choose whatever setting you like: Restoring iPod to factory settings with iTunes

  • ITunes will not sync podcasts with iPod touch

I've tried just about everything I know and consulted the internet, but I cannot get iTunes to sync my podcasts with my iPod Touch. It will sync my music, but it simply will not sync any of my podcasts. It must be something simple, but I've exhausted my knowledge on this issue. It worked fine on my desktop, but when I tried to move it over to my laptop, it just wouldn't work, no matter what I try. Call me an idiot or whatever you need to do if this is something stupid, but please, help me get my podcasts back!

  • ITunes will not recognize my 2G iPod Touch

Just got a new laptop with Windows 7 64bit and IE9.  I have dowloaded latest version of iTunes 10 and my problem is that when I plug in my iPod Touch it will not appear as a device in iTunes.  It shows up in mycomputer as a digital camera but say's it's my iPod and has an iPod icon next to it.  When I connected the first time it worked just fine but I have not been able to get it to recognize since.  I am not getting any errors and the autoplay window does not pop up when it's plugged in.  Had a similar problem with my old laptop (part of the reason I got the new one) but after unplugging it a few times or restarting the computer it would always work, not so on the new machine.  I should mention it works just fine on my old desktop. Tried a few things I saw in some other threads but nothing has worked.  Not a techie but I can follow directions.  Please help, this is really irritating, got a new computer so I wouldn't have these problems anymore!

I've tried all 4 ports on my computer, none of them work. When I plug in my older ipod nano, itunes recognizes it instantly.
