Itunes will not download on my Windows 8 laptop

About half a year ago I bought a Dell Inspiron laptop with Windows 8 pre-installed onto it.  I downloaded Itunes with no problem almost immediatly when I got it.  I have an Iphone 4, and have had it for 2 years, without any problems with Itunes. When IOS 7 came out, Itunes stopped syncing to my phone entirely.  It would start the sincing process, and then would get stuck on the last step of the process.  I left it there overnight and still no change.
At this point I looked online to see if there was a reason, and found many topics saying I needed to update to Itunes 11.1.3 to fix this problem.  Upon trying, Itunes refused to update to 11.1.3 and gave me an error message.  I looked this up online, and found even more topics saying to re-install itunes entirely. I uninstalled Itunes, thinking that I can install 11.1.3 directly to my computer through the apple website.
When I try to downlaod itunes 11.1.3 64 Bit, my computer now gives me an error message stating that this program is unable to run on my version of the PC. I am very fustrated at this point, for my music is deleted off of both my phone and my computer until I can fix this problem.  I have been stuck on this for weeks trying to find a solution. Any help will be very much appreciated! I can't be the only one with this problem...

So I try to get this done for a little while! I download itunes but during installation i get a message concerning a .dll file.
With that one, even though you're getting a different error message, try the procedure from the following user tip:

    NTVDM.exe is the executable for the Windows NT Virtual DOS Machine [NTVDM]. It is an emulation platform for running 16-bit DOS applications on the 32-bit NT subsystem (NT/2000/XP).
    In order to avoid the problem you are having, make sure you are using cmd.exe and not command.com. Cmd.exe is an updated DOS shell that offers higher compatibility with modern applications.
    If you are already running cmd.exe, try running it in a separate memory space: you may have a 16-bit application running on the NTVDM that is crashing other applications.
    In XP, the "Run in Separate Memory Space" check box next to the RUN dialogue is diabled by default. To enable it, add the following REG_DWORD to your registry, but I'm not responsible if you botch up your registry:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\
    MemCheckBoxInRunDlg=1

  • Itunes will not download properly on my laptop

    When downlaoding Itunes i get this message and am not sure what to do next

    These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
    Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
    If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 8007054F, or some other number? (If they're another number, what number are you getting?)

    Are you sure the error message/prompt isn't referring to the amount of disk space available on your PC's internal hard drive?  If you head to Start -> My Computer.  How much space is free on your C: drive?
    Maybe it would help if you could post a small screen shot of the error.
