Itunes will not install getting error
I am using Windows 7 on a Sony Vaio F series laptop
Itunes refuses to install on my computer. I am getting error 0x8007054f. I have read around that this error is associated with my computer itself. I checked that I have a couple of windows updates that refuse to install but I am unsure about what to do about them. Here they are:
Security Update for .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 for x64-based Systems (KB2446709)
Security Update for .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 for x64-based Systems (KB2478661)
Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008 R2 for x64-based Systems (KB2416471)
Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2556532)
Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538243)
Any suggestions?
i think im getting this problem! ive got loadz of windows updates that wont update and i seen somewhere that that has something to do with why itunes wont download properly:/

this application has failed to start because d3d8thk.dll could not be found. I looked that file up and it seems its part of directx. i installed directx again but that still did not help.
d3d8thk.dll
That one is a DirectX 8 module and might not be included in the most recent DirectX 9 redistributable available from Microsoft. If it's been installed as part of a partial DirectX 8 install (as part of a game for example), that can cause the issue. Can you track down a full DirectX 8 redistributable? If so, if you install that, does that clear up the iTunes error? -

Adobe Muse CC will not install, Get Error "Exit Code: 7"

Itunes will not install. I get the error message "Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\com.apple.IE.client_main.dll Verify that you have access to that directory."
That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards? -
I'm getting an error message on Windows 8. Missing apple application support. Itunes will not install. Please help!!, I'm getting an error message on Windows 8. Missing apple application support. Itunes will not install. Please help!!
You probably need to either uninstall and reinstall itunes or to download the apple application support by itself
you can download the itunes http://www.apple.com/itunes/ here
then to do a complete uninstall / reinstall follow these instructions http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923
you could also use 7zip to extract the individual installer for apple application support from the itunes setup file http://www.7-zip.org -

Hey there k8ei,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities
I found this article for you to help troubleshoot installing iTunes named Trouble installing iTunes or QuickTime for Windows found here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926.
Here is a general overview on where the troubleshooting will take you:
General installation troubleshooting
1. Empty your Temp directory and restart
2. Completely remove iTunes and related components
3. Install the latest version of iTunes
Additional troubleshooting
After performing each of the steps below, you will need to completely remove iTunes and related components and then install iTunes again to determine whether the issue is resolved.
1. Make sure you have administrator account access
2. Make sure your folder names don't contain strange characters
3. Get the latest Windows updates
4. Disable other conflicting software
All the very best,

Tried to upgrade as instructed and after uninstalling and reinstalling (even back to the former iTunes which I was happy with)several times, keep getting message "Procedure entry point could not be located in dynamic link library" followed by "iTunes was not installed properly" "Error 7". Help, please??
Entry point errors can usually be fixed by deleting the offending dll, then repairing the component it is part of from the programs and features control panel. Unfortunately you neglected to include the detail of which dll is mentioned.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

I was cleaning up my laptop to free up some disk space. I now can't get into my itunes ??? It's saying Itunes was not installed correctly error 7 (windows error 14003)
What do I need to re-install to get my itunes back?Is there also another message, Rob, citing a particular file? If so what is the name of the file? (Precise spelling, please.)
Are you running XP, Vista or 7? (I'm assuming 2000 must have just been a slip of the fingers.) -
I would like to be able to use my IPAD. Itunes will not install. It tells me it cannot start Apple Mobile Device Services I am using XP service Pack 3. I am the administrator. The message also says to verify that I have sufficient privileges to start system services.

Itunes will not install on windows 7 home
Any one had this issue
Itunes will not install on windows 7 homeGo to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
See also HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP or HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.
