ITunes will NOT install on my computer after countless attempts! Help!

Hi everyone. Was just wondering if anyone could explain the following error message to me and what I have to do to resolve it? It's driving me crazy!!
+An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,version="8.0.50727.4053",type="win32",publicKeyToken="1fc8b 3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="x86"". Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x8007054F.+
Any help with this would be soooooooo gratefully accepted!!
Thanks x

THe short cut shows up on my desk top.  It says it is installed but it is not where to be found.
What's the precise text of the error message that you get when you try opening iTunes via the desktop shortcut, please?

  • ITunes will not install because my Computer is missing a file QuickTime.msi

Hello, I have uninstalled all my apple files except those for QuickTime because it needs QuickTime.msi. Installing iTunes fails for the same reason. I have searched all of my C Drive and it does not exist. My laptop was originally running Vista and perhaps upgrading to Windows 7 is somehow involved? Can anybody put me on the right track?

This problem can often be fixed with the Microsoft Insaller cleanup utility.
Unfortunately The Microsoft Installer Cleanup utility has been with drawn by Microsoft because of compatibility issues with Microsoft Office so you will need to find a copy elsewhere – the installer is msicuu2.exe. You need version 3.
    Google msicuu2.exe download
mydidgitallife has a copy of version 3
Check for malware before installing it.
To run the program – All Programs>>Windows Install
You may need to use "Run as Adminsitrator" if you get an error trying to run it.
I would try to uninstall all iTunes related programs using this method:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
This will allow you to find which ones will not uninstall. Then use the Cleanup utilty to remove those programs
    Then try installing iTunes again.

  • TS4071 itunes will not install on my computer,  error says msvcr80.dll is missing.  i cannot get to the app store

trying to get to itunes via my pc as i have before in order to download an app...
i recently bought my wive a newly refurbished HP minidesktop and took her old computer...
I installed my 2 1TB drives and was off and running.
I renamed her computer. and retained my own owner name and was the adminstrator....
Yet apple does not identify this as the computer which my iphone4 was originally identified with  (this may or may not be part of the problem)...
However, after downloading and running the itunes setup,
it runs for about two minutes
then tells me the external apple device is foreign to it
(i had my iphone4 plugged into a usb port,
and tells me to correct the situation. the retry loops back to that point again,
ignore does the same thing as cancel...leaves an itunes icon on the desktop.
double clicking on this tells me msvcr80.dll is missing.
    Help.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall press on)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • ITunes will not install on a 64 bit PC Win 7

iTunes will not install on a 64 bit PC running Windows 7 with all updates.
Most answers send you to a "cleaner" of somekind that check for errors in you PC and then wants to charge you to clean it.  My PC is CLEAN.
Something is keeping iTunes from installing and running.  Tried 64 bit, 32 bit and all help desks.
Same error message "This version is for a 32 bit computer, yours is a 64 bit!"  I know that and only install the 64 bit version!!!

Same error message "This version is for a 32 bit computer, yours is a 64 bit!"
Doublechecking ... by any chance did you migrate a 32-bit version of the iTunes, Apple Mobile Device Support and Bonjour programs to the 64-bit machine from a 32-bit machine using the PC Mover utility?
(Your symptoms are consistent with that ... the installer service throws the message when trying to uninstall the 32-bit itunes and related 32-bit componentry prior to installing the new 64-bit versions.)

  • Itunes will not install. I get the error message "Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\com.apple.IE.client_main.dll     Verify that you have access to that directory."

Itunes will not install. I get the error message "Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\com.apple.IE.client_main.dll     Verify that you have access to that directory."

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    and paste into:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

  • I have windows 7 64 bit but the new itunes will not install because it can't find itunes64.msi.  I have searxhed evertwhere on my pc. In addition, I can't uninstall the itunes and reinstall for the same reason.

I have windows 7 64 bit but the new itunes will not install because it can't find itunes64.msi.  I have searched evertwhere on my pc. In addition, I can't uninstall the itunes and reinstall for the same reason. I can't upgrade for my icloud account.

    Try the following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
    3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

  • Itunes will not install..windows INSTALLER service not available.windows 7

I am trying to find a fix for this...just bought a new computer with windows 7, all updates have been performed. Itunes will not install...it just stops and says "windows installer service not available" Can't find a stand alone downloadable version of installer 5.0 which is what comes with 7 from the research I have done. I have the newest version of itunes saved on desktop, tried running it from desktop, tried running as admin, tried several other ideas that I found on here and Microsoft..but nothing is working. Any advice?

  • Itunes will not install/upgrade?

itunes will not install, keeps trying to save to g:/ drive when it does not exist, will not let me change drive?

+"E:\iTunes\iTunes.Resources\sv.lproj\Ringtone.nib". The file is there and if you clik on it it says it is bad. It is marked read only and will not let me change this or delete it or anything. After you clik cancel install another message box comes up and says:"The installer has encounted an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2330".+
Yeah, the 2330 is usually associated with a bad file or folder interfering with an install.
Try running a chkdsk over your C drive:
How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Des the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you now move or delete that file? If so, will an itunes install go through properly now?
