Itunes will not install on windows 7 home

Any one had this issue
Itunes will not install on windows 7 home

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
See also HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP or HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

  • Itunes will not install..windows INSTALLER service not available.windows 7

I am trying to find a fix for this...just bought a new computer with windows 7, all updates have been performed. Itunes will not install...it just stops and says "windows installer service not available" Can't find a stand alone downloadable version of installer 5.0 which is what comes with 7 from the research I have done. I have the newest version of itunes saved on desktop, tried running it from desktop, tried running as admin, tried several other ideas that I found on here and Microsoft..but nothing is working. Any advice?

Same error message "This version is for a 32 bit computer, yours is a 64 bit!"
Doublechecking ... by any chance did you migrate a 32-bit version of the iTunes, Apple Mobile Device Support and Bonjour programs to the 64-bit machine from a 32-bit machine using the PC Mover utility?
(Your symptoms are consistent with that ... the installer service throws the message when trying to uninstall the 32-bit itunes and related 32-bit componentry prior to installing the new 64-bit versions.)

  • ITunes will not install in Windows XP Home

I have tried to install iTunes on my computer I get an error message that iTunes is not installed properly.
I have checked for malware, cleaned temp folder, un-installed & installed several times to no avail.

I get an error message that iTunes is not installed properly
What's the precise text of the error message, viv? (That may give us a heads up on what the issue is in this case.)

  • ITunes will not install on Windows XP machine

I have tried to install iTunes on my Windows XP machine (Home Edition - SP2 loaded)and it keeps bombing out, I have all the symptoms as decribed in the attached Support problem
*No error message displays, however the iTunes installation disappears from screen and does not finish and iTunes is not installed. This happens right after "Publishing product information" appears on the screen.*
I have tried the suggested fixes, including repairing Windows.
    Any help/suggestions appreciated.
    Tx

    Tony Sheridan,
In Windows goto control panel>add and remove and uninstall iTunes AND quicktime if there listed. Then go here and roll down to "Clean up iTunes installer files on the computer" http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93976
Now scan your system for malware with ewido http://www.ewido.com
After that disable antivirus and any security programs then goto apple.com and download/install the latest iTunes.
If that does not work go here and install "Quicktime WITHOUT iTUnes" http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone.html

    Hello db133,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post I understand that you're unable to open iTunes after installing it due to an error with the Apple Application Support.  I see that you've gone through and reinstalled multiple times, but there are specific steps for removing and reinstalling iTunes which I think would help resolve this issue.  Those steps are found in the article linked to below.
Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 - Apple Support

  • ITunes will not install on Windows 8.1

The fact that you have a section titled "Can't install iTunes" should be a big red flag. Any time I have to upgrade iTunes, I have to remove ALL apple software from my machine. Shouldn't this just work? The install always hangs. Every other piece of software that I have installed flawlessly. I'm running windows 8.1, 32gb ram, 4.6 ghz processor, and the install chokes every time.

    Thak you, mfein!
    mfein wrote:
I have the same situation except I'm on iTunes 11.0.4.4. The other difference is it goes through the update and also for the iCloud control panel. It goes through the download and fails at the installation. There is a red exclamation mark in the update panel. It then says update manually through the Tools menu, this also fails. iTunes works so I'm not at a complete loss.
I also chose "download only" instead of "install" from the tools menu of the update panel. Two files were downloaded, an apple install mngr and a setup file. I opend the apple install manager, and was notified that the mngr was already running on my machine. However, the mngr program continued, and the 11.1.2 version was perfectly installed.
Maybe you have an older version of the mngr and therefore should open the downlowded install mngr instead of the setup file?
I also suppose that a "clean" install of the 11.1.2 version from apple's download page will work equally well and hence solve your problem.

  • ITunes will not install on Windows XP

Upon upgrading to iTunes 8.1 I received a fatal error during installation (Windows XP). I can no longer install the program. I have followed all hints in these forums for removing iTunes, and reinstalling, to no avail. Restarting with background processes off does not help. I have even removed all iTunes instances in the registry.

Vincent, no, not the add/remove programs that is built into windows. There is a utility from microsoft to fix windows installers issues.
This must be one article you didn't see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926
Scroll down to the section named *General installation troubleshooting*
Do them in order - you have to click on them to get the details of each step.
The cleanup utility is in the 3rd step.

  • Itunes will not install on windows vista (error message)

I just got an ipod and am new to this kind of device. I tried to download the itunes from the apple ipod start page. The itunes download ok except for the itunes application, in which it says it can't install the itunes application then it ends with "error 50". I would have to attempt to download again to re-read the error message to be exact. Any suggestion will help thanks.

Praise God - I found the solution after hours of work: (1) Uninstall all Apple programs (itunes, Quicktime, Bonjour, .....); (2) Go to "Common Files" and delete all Apple files - this might be difficult for some are locked from you - you may have to change the "Owner" of the file in order to delete it - if that doesn't work "Rename the Apple Follder to something like Apple Old - that's like deleting it.  Then download 10.5 from Apple and away you go - yippee.

  • HT4759 iCloud and iTunes will not install on Windows 8

I've had to upgrade to Windows 8 and I cannot get either iTunes or iCloud to install.
    I have tried:
    -installing as Administrator
-installing in Compatibility Mode as Windows 7
-installing as Administrator in Compatibility Mode
-disabling my firewall while doing the above
Does anyone have any more suggestions?  I really need to be able to connect my iPhone and offload photos and organize my music again.
    Thanks,
    Lisa

Thank you for your beautiful input.
If you wrote that it wasn't a fresh installation, I missed it.
Of course, for removal of iTunes and its re-installation there is a comprehensive document.
Which is quite an involved procedure and all 'Apple' components have to be removed in specified order, removal verified and then iTunes installed.

  • ITunes will not install on Windows 8?

It might be my computer, but I know all of the hardware specs meet the requirements for iTunes. My installation always gets stuck on installing Apple Application Support. I've tried everything I know. Getting another download, trying to work with the compatibility, and so far nothing. It would be nice if someone knew the answer.

    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
