ITunes will not install (says "Quicktime not available")..., Please HELP!!!

If anyone can help w\this, please respond. My ITunes crashed a couple of mnths ago and I've been tryin to reinstall ever since w\out any success and am getting very frustrated. It will install onto my computer and my desktop (shows that it and Quicktime were both installed successfully), but when I try to access iTunes it tells me "Quicktime is required and unavailable", but when I access Quicktime, it comes up just fine????!!! What am I doing wrong?? What do I need to do to get iTunes back in my system??? I've tried everything from installing them together to installing them seperatly and also "saving" to computer and installing manually. Please help, if anyone can.

gaah. okay, we're going to try transferring a treatment that has been working for some QT 1606s to the itunes 1606.
first, download and install a copy of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility:

9.1 downloaded, but it will not install???? Please help!

I am a long time Mac user. Bought myself a new iMac for my studio. Everything works fine. I have downloaded the 9.1 update and when I install it, it tells me that it cannot install as I already have 9.1, but I do not have 9.1. I am running 9.02.
Any ideas? Driving me nuts this one.....

I am having the same exact problem.. only i could of sworn i downloaded & installed the 9.02 update, but when i go to check my about logic pro, it says.. 9.0.0... I'm completely baffled by this. I bought the logic studio upgrade, successfully installed it, THOUGHT i had registered it, apparently NOT, when i tried to download the update. Like what is seriously wrong with this? Can not install shockwave at all! Please help going nuts with this.

This whole thing started when I went to shockwave.com and wanted to play some of their games. It saidI needed to install shockwave. I uninstalled an old version as recommended then installed a new one. Well I should say tried to! I get a screen that asks permission to d/l I told it ok twice then I get nothing ..... nothing happens it looks like it's going to d/l but nothing. I think well maybe something is there and go look to uninstall again but there is nothing there for shockwave. I have flashplayer working fine but can't d/l shockwave.. weird... can someone plz help? Oh my god, how careless (not to say dumb) I was, please HELP!!!!!!

I had a very bad incident that ended with me losing a great deal of email messages. In a moment of distraction, I forgot to make sure that a a certain POP mail account of mine is NOT set to "remove copy from server after retrieving a message" before its deletion and deleting that account, naturally led to data loss.
Now, since I successfully recovered stuff 2 years after its deletion and even formatting my hard disk using a dedicated software for data recovery (I just wanted to check the efficiency of those products) I believe the data might be retrievable, however I really don't know what file should I look for in my search. Where does this old account go?
Is there a genius who might help me on that? Or when you delete an account the data in securely erased?
Really hope there is someone who can make miracles out there.

When creating an email account in Mail, an account named folder is created at the first level within the Mail folder at Home > Library > Mail named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account.
For Tiger Mail, the following mbox folders are created within the account named folder when the function is used by the account; INBOX.mbox, Drafts.mbox, Sent Messages.mbox, Deleted Messages.mbox and Junk.mbox (when Junk Mail is set to automatic).
Each message contained in a Tiger mailbox is stored as a separate file in .emix format located within the Messages folder for the mailbox such as INBOX.mbox (folder ) > Messages > 14902.emlx with each message or .emix file having a different number.
You need to recover the INBOX.mbox folder along with the Messages folder within and/or each .emix file that was located within the Messages folder for the mailbox.

I can't install / uninstall Quicktime either! Please help

I've read all the posts on this subject and none of the advice has cured my problem. When I try to run the latest Quicktime install program (having uninstalled Quicktime earlier versions??) I have only 2 options - either Repair or Remove. So Quicktime still exists somewhere on my system? Both the options give the same result - a warning dialog with the following message. "The installer has encounted an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package The error code is 2356." Can someone help?

Thanks for the quick reply but I had tried all that already. To be sure though I just checked again. Windows Install cleanup reports no quicktime installation, there is no Quicktime folder in the C:\program files folder and the files are not present in the C:\Windows\system32 folder.
I also searched the entire PC and the files are not there at all. I also checked the QuickTimeInstallerF30.log located in my profile local settings\temp folder it shows the following:-

I'm logged in as the administrator too.
Error message is still the same! The other point to note is that after the error message the install program then looks as though it reverses it first few steps that were completed before the error message.

ITunes crashes when trying to access the iTunes Store -- Quick Time is installed but diagnostic says "QuickTime not available"

I'm getting a Windows error and iTunes crashes any time I try to access the iTunes store. I'm not sure if this may be related, but when I run a connectivity diagnostic, system info shows:

I have QuckTime 7.7.1 (1680.42) installed and it works without trouble. Is the fact that iTunes doesn't recognize my install possibly related to the crashes? I have uninstalled and reinstalled both programs a couple times.

Well, as far as I can see, no one has responded to this question. Nor do I see any solutions mentioned in other questions by folks having the same problem. So I can only assume that there IS no fix.
Oh well, I know that one user is just "small potatoes" as far as the iTunes Store is concerned, but they've just lost this frequent little revenue stream - their loss, Amazon's gain.
Good-bye iTunes store - it was fun while it lasted...

When I click on the store it just never opens, I do not receive any message. I try to "refresh the page" and nothing. While having the store selected I go to "help" and check for updates and i get a message; "The iTunes updatte server could not be contacted" and it prompts me to check my internet connection which is fine. None of the items under the "Store" respond with anything.
I ran a iTunes Diagnostics/ Under "Which Tests do you want to run" I check only "Network Connections" and the results that I receive is...

When I click on iTunes it says QuickTime not found

After I got a movie file from a friend (and a player), everytime I tried going on iTunes it would say "QuickTime not found. QuickTime is required to run iTunes. Please reinstall iTunes."
So I uninstalled iTunes and redownloaded the set up and installed iTunes. It's still saying the same thing. What is wrong?

It might be worth trying a complete removal of iTunes and Quicktime followed by a phased reinstall.
Download a fresh copy of iTunes and also the version of QUicktime that does not include iTunes (it is not the defualt option):

Use the following method to remove iTunes and QUicktime etc:

i downloaded iTunes but when i try to play it, it says "QuickTime not found" and i go download quicktime itself and when its done it says Quicktime not found again.
When i go to my control panel and try to remove the program it says "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." And when i try to delete it, it says the source cannot be found.
I've tried rebooting my computer but it doesnt do anything.
