ITunes will not launc after latest update (Mac version)

Hi
I was prompted by the software updater to update iTunes the other day, and so I did. When I first launched iTunes after the update, there was the usual window where i had to agree on Apple's this-and-that that always follows an update, but then nothing happened. After a while, Finder said iTunes was not responding. Now everytime I attempt to launch iTunes, the little triangle will appear beneath the iTunes icon in the dock as if the program was running, but nothing happens. It immediately stops responding, and I cannot even force close it. It's a bit like Windows...
Anyone else with this problem, and maybe with a solution?

I do not get any error code when launching iTunes or double-clicking a audio file. iTunes attempts to launch (bouncing icon in dock), then stops responding.
I have now tried repairing disk permissions and deleting iTunes-related files from the personal/library/preferences folder, all to no avail.

  • Itunes will not launch after latest update 2/2014

Just installed latest update for iTunes on 2/21/2014 on my MBP running snow leopard and after restarting MBP iTunes will not  launch.
    Thank you
    MacBook Pro
Late 2008 unibody running Snow Leopard 10.6.8

Yes, first, I would run Disc Utility; Verify Disc, Verify Disc Permissions, & Repair Disc Permissions.
Then I would go here > http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ for the .dmg file download.
Then I would reinstall iTunes. So, unless you do not have enough free space on your hard drive, that should work.
Otherwise, it may be time for some spring cleaning...

I've tried to uninstall and reinstall DID NOT WORK. Tried to remove the file iAdCore.dll. from iTunes in the program files and again DID NOT WORK! I have lost my entire library and now cannot even open iTunes just because I did the update. Please help.
    Win XP SP3 32bit

i had almost same issue on Windows RT 8.1
i tried to uninstall and reintsall as apple says THOUSAND TIMES but, did not work at all !
i sorted out myself issues they are ,
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple folder &
    C:\ProgramData\Apple &
    C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer    cannot be deleted
thats why i recieved "Error 7 (Windows Error XXX)" even though apple says its because netframework or Corrupt download or incomplete installation of iTunes software
so i moved undeletable folders with all subfolders to desktop and run installation of  itunes12.0.1.26
all solved my problems of installing itunes, now i have to find a way to delete the files on the desktop .

  • My iphone will not charge after latest update.

After I did the latest update first my middle button stopped working then the volume stopped working but both were fixed after a restart. Now my phone won't charge I get the message cable not compatible but it's the charger that came with the phone. Please help.

After a full 8 hour charge it only shows about 40% charge.  This phone worked without incident before the last two firmware updates.  I use the same wall charger and Apple cord for my iPad and wife's phone (she has not updated her phone to iOs 6.0.1) and they all work great.  There must be something in the new update that kills battery life. By the way, I replaced my battery less than a month ago.

  • ITunes will not start after software update yesterday

Using recent version of iTunes to manage my iPod Touch on a ThinkPad T400 with Win7 Pro 64-bit.
I was offered a software update last night, and took it.  It appeared to install OK and required a reboot, which I performed.
Now I cannot run iTunes at all.  In the Processes view of Task Manager, the iTunes process appears and then disappears without any kind of UI error message.
I heve rebooted again.  I have downloaded the 10.4 installer from http://www.apple.com/uk/itunes/download/ and used the repair option.
No good.  Rebooted.  No good.  The file version from Properties of iTunes64Setup.exe is 10.4.0.80 by the way.
Stopped the Bonjour service.  No good.
So now I cannot get my latest podcasts onto my iPod and I am extremely unhappy.
    Any ideas please?

If you downgrade, uninstall Apple compatibility support also from Programs as that seems to be the crux of many issues, both with iTunes but also Safari.
The other "crux" is that QT 7.7 and Safari 5.1 are security patches/updates deemed "critical/essential" category. Safari you can probably do w/o. iTunes is "dot zero" (10.4.0).
iTunes: I am always doing this that bring UAC to blank the screen, and refuse to disable that security feature, but that also means iTunes video (music, movies etc) will also go blank.
Other feature I have had with itunes is that it will go into a process thread lock wait state between video/movie and require a kill thread.
In 5 yrs Vista/7 I've had more issues with Apple software than anything else bare none.

'The installer has insufficient privileges to modify this file C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\Web kit.resources\inspector\Images\Spinner Inactive Selected.gif.'
That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

my ipod touch gen 4 will not recovery after software update. have tried everything. device not recognized by itunes. any ideas?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • HT6058 my ipad screen will not rotate since latest update

my ipad scrren will not rotate since latest update, i have done everything i can think of including wha tapple told me

What have you tried, and what did Apple tell you ?
Is there a lock symbol at the top of the screen next to the battery indicator ? If there is, then depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (rotation lock or mute notifications), then you can lock/unlock the rotation by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via control centre : swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and it's the right-most of the 5 icons in the middle of it (if the icon is white then it's 'on', tap it to turn it grey and 'off'). The function that isn't on the side switch is set via control centre instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085
If there isn't a lock symbol then try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

My Itunes will not launch after downloading and I have tried all the troubleshooting for itunes for Windows 7 64-bit. Do I need to system reboot my computer than try to download it again?

I'm having a very similar issue, paired with iTunes not being able to get online.
iTunes shows up in processes and then hangs at 17,000 K or so -- sometimes it will start up, but that (if it occurs) is a delay of literal hours.
Pretty meticulously went through all the 'cannot connect' trouble shooting, and have uninstalled, restarted, and then reinstalled every piece of apple software; issue is just as firm. Starting in safe mode or admin mode don't fix it; signing in as a different user doesn't fix it.

  • ITunes will not launch after upgrade--click, bounce bounce, nada

iTunes will not launch after upgrade--rebooted nothing--2 bounce icon
then shut down all and unplugged, restarted--no change, iTunes still will not launch after upgrade
    iTunes current version
    on imac w/10.6.8

    I have the same issue.
Allready uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it, but the same problem occurs.
Icon keeps bouncing, and all that's visible is the first menu-item in the top menu bar, named iTunes. Nothing is clickable though.
The iPhone Configuration Utility doesn't seem to work either, it crashes on uploading an app to my iPhone. I guess it's using some of iTunes' libs or something.
Does anyone know how to get iTunes working again? I'm getting pretty desperate over here...
    Thanks!

  • Apple Mobile Device will not install after latest itunes update!!

Having a lot issues with trying to get AMDS to install after installing the iItune update, as such unless this can be installed itunes will not recognise my iphone.
This problem all started when I installed the latest update, everthing installed except apple mobile device, error message was " service apple mobile device failed to start verify that you have sufficent privileges to start system services. Have tried nurmerous uninstalls and reinstalls still no luck.  Tried the advice on restarting according to apple support but the problem is that AMDS is no where to be seen in the "services" to try and restart it (you can't start it if it is not installed). Tried individual install using itunessetup.exe through Winrar (applemobiledevice.msi) still no luck, the installer goes through intially but then it "rolls back" and states an error has occured and it can't install it.
Running out of idea's and from looking at  the threads there seems to be alot of people with the same problem, but no fixes as yet, is there anyone out there that can sort this issue, as it would be much appreciated.

  • ITunes will not open after update to 11.4

I updated iTunes, along with the other updates I was prompted to install but now my iTunes will not open. At all. No error message or anything. Please someone help?
    Thanks.
