ITunes will not let me purchase a song...what now?

I am trying to buy a song. I click "Buy" and it takes me to the page where I read the terms of agreement. I check the box that says I've read the terms. I then check "continue" but then I get an error message saying "Session Timeout...Your session has timed out. Please try this operation again from the beginning." And then I am unable to buy the song.
I have bought songs before. I last bought a song in May of 2010. Any suggestions?

I tried again this morning to buy a song, and this time I met with success. I did exactly the same thing as before, but did not get any error messages. One thing I did notice for the first time, is that the terms of agreement deal with Ping and its rules. I am not familiar with Ping, nor am I aware of whether I've already opted into it or not (I'm thinking not). All I know is that I was able to click on the Continue box and purchase/download the song without any problem this morning.
But not so last night!

    What does "it will not let me purchase it" mean exactly? Are you getting an error message?

  • Redeemed card and balance applied, though Itune will not let me purchase with balance and keeps referring me to other payment types which I do not want and will not let me purchase with my credit balance.

    Had an itunes card, entered the code on the card to redeem it. This all worked fine and it applied the correct balance. Now go to itunes store and it keeps referring me to make purchase with other payment types rather than letting me purchase with my current Apple ID balance. I have ensured I am on the latest version of iTunes though still getting the same issue.

    If you're not able to purchase content in GarageBand, try the steps in this article:

    When trying to make an in-app purchase from GarageBand for Mac (v10.0) you might be unable to complete the purchase. This can happen if you haven't accepted the app from the Mac App Store.
    To resolve the issue:
    Quit GarageBand.
    Open the Mac App Store.
    Sign in using the Apple ID you used to set up the computer.
    Click the Purchases tab.
    Click the Accept button next to GarageBand.
    Open GarageBand.
    You should now be able to make in-app purchases.

    I bought a new macbook pro and now every time i try to buy anything with my apple id it doesn't go through. I tried Ibooks and iTunes but neither one will work. I have registered this computer and even tried unregistering all the other computers but that did not do anything. I also checked my form of payment and that is not the problem either because i have no problems what so ever buying anything on my iPhone or my desktop computer.
    It is just this computer.
    I try to buy something and something pops up and says... "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-45054). There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later."
    And i have been trying later for 2days now.

    Yes, I was aware of this but the phrase "Any items imported from audio CDs or acquired from other sources will not copy from your device to the iTunes library." is what worries me.  Will this eliminate my Notes, Calendar Events, etc or will it apply mostly just to the music?

    OK, I have fixed it here. Here's what I did:
    quit iTunes
    trashed ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes.plist
    started iTunes, and authorised my account
    Worked straight away after that !

         If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
         below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
         simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
         same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
    A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (if You Forget Your Passcode)
    If you need to restore your device or ff you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it.          3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up

             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
