  • TS3540 ITunes will not open after re-install

I followed the instructions from this article after trying to sync iTunes with iPhone5.  I finished the second set  of steps downloading http://appldnld.apple.com/iTunes10/041-7195.20120912.d3uzQ/iTunes10.7.dmg
After restarting a couple of times, it still will not open.  The icon in the Dock has a question mark superinposed on it.
Now what do I do?  All of this just to get message groups/email lists to be on the new phone.  Yikes!

Well, after reading more posts and not getting any answers here, I kept fidgeting and discovered that while the Dock iTunes icon did not work, going through the App folder and then adding the icon to the Dock did work.  The iPhone5 did sync while plugged into power - not having to be directly connected to the iMac.  So far so good.  Still figuring out how to get the groups to show up.

Apps will not open after ios5 install.  Any solutions?

My husband had the same problem with some apps after I updated his iPad 2 to iOS 5.  I checked the app store and there were updates for the apps to support the new software.  After updating, all apps work just fine.

    Hi Cchoe,
I see that you are experiencing an issue with iTunes after an update. It sounds like this issue could be related to third-party software interactions with iTunes. Here is an article that will help you troubleshoot:

  • ITunes will not open after updating

Ever since the update to 7.1.1 iTunes will not open.
I get a pop-up window that says iTunes has stopped working.
I have followed Apple's instructions for Vista about uninstalling all Apple products. I have done this 8+ times and I am at a total loss. I am a webmaster and Sr. Sys. Admin for a software company, so it's not like I don't have experience with computer/software issues.
When I look at the Windows application log. I have this error:
Faulting application iTunes.exe, version 7.7.1.11, time stamp
    0x4890a5ee, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 6.0.6001.18000, time

process id 0xf44, application start time 0x01c8fb2e587a39a9.
This started happening after I updated.
No other issues with any other programs. Quicktime will start up and run.

I hear you. My itunes is fubared and Apple and ALL the articles they send do NO good. I have emailed Apple many times and nothing helps.
Whatever they changed with version 7.1 messed up itunes and you can't go back.
I have emailed Apple asking them if I can delete my itunes directory and any references to itunes and NOT lose my 10K songs. They havent responded to that email and my guess is that it will delete it. But Im not going to risk losing my library until I know for sure !
Im in the same boat you are, I dont want to lose my library either. APPLE NEEDS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AND NOW !!
anyway this is a pain in the *** but itunes(windows) will open this way
    UNTIL APPLE FIXES THIS !
    1.boot up windows
2.right click on your START button
3.go to C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\iTunes (my machine is a Dell with Vista)
4.go to the itunes directory C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\iTunes\SC INFO
5.delete BOTH files SC info.sidb AND SC info.sibb
6.launch itunes, it should open, mine did.
    7. if you have any purchased songs from the istore, log-in with your user name/password.
THIS WORKED FOR ME BUT YOU HAVE TO LEAVE YOUR ITUNES OPEN, IF YOU CLOSE IT OUT, YOU WILL HAVE TO REPEAT THE PROCESS AGAIN. (at least I did)
    GOOD LUCK !!

  • Itunes will not open after installing yosemite

I installed Yosemite and have tried to repeatedly. Get my new Itunes 12 to open but it refuses. It will not make any indication that it is attempting to open. I have tried to reinstall it a number of times and it still will not open.
    any help is appreciated.

    Hi,
I've encountered the exact same problem.
iTunes wouldn't start up at all, even tough it had the correct version.
By browsing to the applications contents and running the itunes exec it would work.
Also running it through Terminal would work. But simply not by clicking the iTunes.app
However i've fixed it! by manually setting read and write so that you can delete the iTunes.app. (for a tut see http://www.tekrevue.com/tip/uninstall-itunes/)
Then manually Install iTunes again by downloading it at http://www.apple.com/nl/itunes/download/
Then it worked fine with me! Hope it helps.

  • ITunes will not open after (12) update!!!!!!!

Just updated iTunes to (12) and now it will not open. Two messages. The procedure entry point ADAdPolicyEngine_DidEnterStation could not be located in the dynamic link library iAdCore.dll. and then iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 127)
I've tried to uninstall and reinstall DID NOT WORK. Tried to remove the file iAdCore.dll. from iTunes in the program files and again DID NOT WORK! I have lost my entire library and now cannot even open iTunes just because I did the update. Please help.
    Win XP SP3 32bit

i had almost same issue on Windows RT 8.1
i tried to uninstall and reintsall as apple says THOUSAND TIMES but, did not work at all !
i sorted out myself issues they are ,
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple folder &
    C:\ProgramData\Apple &
    C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer    cannot be deleted
thats why i recieved "Error 7 (Windows Error XXX)" even though apple says its because netframework or Corrupt download or incomplete installation of iTunes software
so i moved undeletable folders with all subfolders to desktop and run installation of  itunes12.0.1.26
all solved my problems of installing itunes, now i have to find a way to delete the files on the desktop .

  • Itunes will not launch after fresh install and repeated re-installs

I've been browsing around the forums here and the support system hoping for an answer to this question.
On Monday my hard drive died and I had to buy a new one. I reinstalled windows and itunes among other things. I have a brand new Video Ipod as well. I haven't even had a chance to plug it in!
Itunes worked for about 2 days and suddenly stopped working. I mean literally, if I double click on the icon and start up the program, it immediately crashes and asks me if I want to send an Error report.
I removed and reinstalled and rebooted about 3 times to no avail. I re-downloaded Itunes + quicktime just in case there was something wrong with the installer. This did not fix the problem.
I then tried messing with my "sound" settings as suggested by support and people on the forums. I can not find the option to change my sound output to 1400000khz or whatever. Nor does changing my system to "Speaker mode headphones" fix the issue as suggested by apple here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304318
Quicktime is also screwed up and will not load on websites. It shows an icon in my taskbar but when I click on it, nothing happens. Even if Itunes is uninstalled, the icon still shows up in the tray. I cannot delete the folders or find any option in Uninstall programs to remove it.
As a last resort, I rolled my system back to Monday when I had just installed Windows, default drivers and SP2. A clean system. I then installed Itunes as the very first program and surprise - it crashed upon opening.
I have no idea what to do at this point. Without Itunes my ipod is almost usless.

The quote below is from a previous thread where several people solved your same problem with the stated technique. Maybe it will work for you. Good Luck.
iTunes 7.0.2 FIX ("Have tried all 'fixes' suggested but iTunes STILL not opening").
    1. Uninstall iTunes and QuickTime.
    2. Do a search in the C:\ drive for "QuickTime". Delete EVERYTHING that pops up.
    3. Restart the computer.
    4. Install QUICKTIME ONLY
    5. THEN install iTunes......and IT WORKS.....Just remember to install QuickTime FIRST.

  • Itunes will not open after upgrade

After upgrading to the latest version of itunes and quicktime it will not open (no error message given). If i log off as administrator and log on as another user it will open. is there a fix for this?

perhaps try working through the user-account-specific section of the following document first:

With that one, the only workaround I'm aware of at the moment is to disable your BonJour Service.
Right-click "My Computer" and select "Manage".
    Expand "Services and Applications"
    Open "Services"
Right click on the BOnJour service and select "properties".
In the General tab, change the start-up type to "disabled".
    OK out of the tab.
Restart the PC. Does iTunes launch for you now?

  • My iTunes will not open after a re-install

I went to the apple store b/c my computer was running my computer has been running slow. They told me to try to do a re-install after saving things on an external hard drive. I followed their advice and now iTunes now will not work. I tried to download iTunes 8, but my system requirements won't allow for it. Next, I tried to download version 7 as I know that one should work. But, once it was done downloading I had a application, with no program to open it with. I am not sure how to get it back up and running. Any ideas?

I slept on it, and tried to open up iTunes today...for some reason the error message changed and now said I needed a newer version of Quick Time. I got the latest one, then it said I needed to upgrade the iTunes, so I did that as well (I got version 7.3.1) and then was able to get it to work.

That's the one that Comcast distributes?
If so, I'd check the firewall rules for your iTunes in the Norton suite first. (Norton generally has to update a rule for iTunes when your iTunes version is upgraded, so it's a prime time for something to go wrong with your rule for iTunes.)
End any running iTunes.exe processes, and then check to see if you currently have an iTunes rule in the firewall.
If you don't have an iTunes rule at all, create one allowing full access to the internet.
If you have an iTunes rule that doesn't allow full access to the internet, edit the rule to allow access to the internet.
If you have an iTunes rule that does allow full access to the internet, delete it and create a new rule for iTunes (allowing full access to the internet).
Restart the PC and then try another iTunes launch. Does it launch correctly this time?
