ITunes will not open on my iPhone 4S since the iOS 7 update

Any solutions for this issue?

I went to the music app, select artists along the bottom and then "store" at the top left. This opened the iTunes app. It first said it can't connect but after trying different icons in the app it started to work. Opens every time now. Can't explain it but it worked.

iTunes will not open on my iPhone after the new update 10/18/13. It opens on my iPad that also has the new update; just not my iPhone.

OK, so what troubleshooting steps have you taken?  Have you taken the ones recommended in the User Guide?  Exactly what HAVE you done thus far to help solve your problem?

Started a Itunes software update this morning which didn't work.  Now Itunes will not open at all.  I get the following message."The program can't state becasue MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer."

There are a couple of options that I know of to fix the issue.
One is listed in this thread - https://discussions.apple.com/message/24606478#24606478 - and involves uninstalling iTunes and related components and then re-installing iTunes.  You will need to read the instructions in the thread to see the correct uninstall order.
Second option is use System Restore to set your system back to a date prior to the iTunes update.  I did this before finding the thread mentioned above.
Not sure exactly what the problem is but I know, after a search, that MSVCR80.dll was indeed already installed on my computer.

My itunes will not open at all - I repeatedly get the message"itunes library is corrupted...not installed correctly...please reinstall itunes" I have tried opening all my itunes folders but nothing will even open.

Let's try a repair install of iTunes first.
Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
Can you launch your iTunes now?

  • HT4061 iTunes will not open when my iPhone 4S is attached to my Mac Book Pro. iTunes will start up but as soon as my iPhone appears in the list of devices the program then quits and displays the message 'iTune Quit Unexpectedly'? Can anybody help?

    The Problem/s
    1. I am unable to sync my iPhone 4S with my Mac Book Pro, either by cable, wifi or bluetooth
    2. iTunes will initiall open and briefly identifies the iPhone in the Device section in iTunes.
    3. When iTunes starts to read the iPhone (displaying the spinning wheel), it immediately then quits and
    4. Opens a 'dialogue box' which displays the message "iTunes Quit Unexpectedly"
5 The dialoge box offers the following button options to:-
    'Show Details'
The 'Show Details' button will open and display a list of the 'Problem Details and System Configeration'. To the average user the information is useless, as one doesn't know what to look for to solve the problem. This is a long and detailed report (too long to include in this message), which includes information such as:-
    Crashed Thread:  20
    Exception Type:  EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
    Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x00000000000006f0
    'OK'
The 'Ok' button simply quits and closes the dialogue box
    'Reopen'
The 'Reopen' button will again reopen iTunes, briefly showing that it is trying to read the iPhone in the Devices section, but then returns again to display the same dialogue box.
    Other Information
    1. iTunes will still start normally once the USB cable is removed from the Mac book Pro, but crashes again once the USB cable is reattached to the computer
Any advice or help offered would be greatly appreciated.
    Sincerely
    Rob

  • My itunes will not open on my iphone after updating

HELP.  My I tunes will not open. It acts like it will then it just "closes" fast.

  • I just installed 10.2.2. When I tried to start iTunes, I got the message that Rosetta needed to be installed to open iTunes. It downloaded and installed Rosetta but iTunes will not open and it no longer has the iTunes icon. What do I do now?

I installed iTunes 10.2.2. When I tried to open it, I got the message that iTunes needs to install Rosetta to open. It then appeared to download and and install Rosetta. When I try to open iTunes, the icon bounces but iTunes does not open. The icon has also changed from the usual iTunes icon. What do I do now?

I have a 2010 MBP15 which I do not use as much as my pc. When I do, I check for updates and I believe I updated iTunes to 10.2.2 a week or so ago. Since I still use iTunes primarily on my pc, I didn't bother firing up the updated iTunes on the mac.
Last week, when I actually started iTunes on the mac, I got the message that Rosetta needed to be installed. Like abefighter I stalled. I surfed the net, read this thread to get some hints as to w** was going on.
When I checked the system profile in the mac, I think it showed PowerPC for 'kind.' Surfing the Internet I found out Rosetta was something needed to help applications work on PowerPCs. But wait, since this MBP is an Intel, why would or should it be asking me for some stone-age plug-in that was never mentioned in all the previous updates for iTunes until now? Fyi, the iTunes icon on the dock had changed to what I think is an AppleWorks icon.
So, I assumed that the update that resulted in my mac was corrupted. At first I scoured for 10.2.1, thinking that the last version was a dud, but in vain, nowhere to be found. I gave up and settled for a fresh 10.2.2. I did a casual delete, without touching any of the related personal preference files in my folder and it now which works fine. I'm glad I didn't jump to install Rosetta; I read elsewhere about someone who actually went through with the Rosetta install that resulted unhappily.
Unless the mac in question is a PowerPC, I would doubt the need for Rosetta installation.

  • ATTN: APPLE ; iTunes will not open. Many customers/users with the same issu

First of all, I know I am not the first person to post about this nor will I be the last. However SOMETHING needs to be done about this ridiculous problem.
I was using iTunes 8.X prior and I upgraded to 9.0.1 a couple of days ago. Ever since then I have had nothing but headaches when attempting to get iTunes to work so I can work with my iPhone.
I followed previous instructions by other users on this forum. Here is the list of steps I took.
    1. Uninstalling iTunes + Quicktime completely. Reinstalling shortly therafter.
    2. Ensuring no codecs were interfering (mpcstar, et cetera).
    3. Cleaning the registry.
    4. Cleaning the SC Info.sidb and SC Info.sidd files from \ProgramData\Apple Computer\iTunes\SC Info
    5. Turning off different services or restarting them. This includes Bonjour, Apple Mobile Devices, iPod Service. There IS an interesting note about this later on.
    6. Running 9.0.1 on a fresh install of Vista Home Premium on a notebook.
+** No errors were ever given for this issue on either system inside of event viewer or when attempting to execute iTunes. The iTunes.exe will show as active in Processes at 13-15mb and does nothing. At times a smaller, and SECOND process of iTunes.exe will appear at 2-3mb then disappear after a few seconds.+
All of this and it goes nowhere good.
Generally, after rebooting my computers iTunes will start once if at all. However this is not guaranteed. The fact that I have to restart constantly in order to have a small attempt at getting iTunes to execute correctly is absurd.
I noted in 5. that messing around with the services produced one interesting event. When I stop the Apple Mobile Devices service iTunes will load. Although when doing this it will of course NOT detect my iPhone. Even if I load iTunes and start or restart Apple Mobile Devices it of course will not see it.
As aforementioned I am not the only customer and user to have this issue. There is clearly a problem with 9.0.1 and many others will agree. It might not be happening to everyone (lucky for you lot) however it is nonetheless unfair that we who are experiencing difficulties are not seeing a resolution.
If anyone has ideas about what else could potentially be done to remedy this I would greatly appreciate your help. As I am sure others will also.
Thank you for your time and help.

  • ITunes will not open and tells me to use the "information" to open in 32 bit rather than 64. but the information pane does not offer that option ...

I am trying to open my iTune 10.4 on my mac mini which is running OS 10.6.8, and I get the message that I need to use the information pane to open in 32-bit rather than 64. But the information pane does not offer this option. I'm in a vicious circle of opening, getting this message, then having to close. Did this come about after the June update of iTunes? And if so, why haven't they fixed it? And what can I do? You'd think Apple would want be to be able to spend my money in their store ...

Try following steps and test one at a time:
    1. Restart computer, right mouse click iTunes icon and select "Run As Administrator"
    2. If that does not work, check to see if this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
    Close your iTunes.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
Now open itunes and see if it is working?
If that works, to prevent having to do the same process everytime you restart Windows, go to. START button, type in
    MSCONFIG
    Hit ENTER
Click STARTUP Tab, Uncheck "Apple Push", click OK.
    Restart Windows.
    3. If that fails or you don't see ApsDaemon.exe in the Processes, refer to following article to remove SC files:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2363
    4. If that fails, repair or reinstall your Quicktime. START / CONTROL PANEL / PROGRAMS N FEATURES / hightlight QUICKTIME and click REPAIR.

  • ITunes store wont open on my iPhone 5 after the iOS 7 upgrade

I was able to use it for a few days after the upgrade, but now it keeps crashing every time I try and open it. I have tried the date/time/auto thing and I have tried it when I am connected to wireless.

Some folks that have had the problem you are having had to backup their iPhone on iTunes and then Restore their iPhone as a new in-the-box Factory Settings iPhone.  After this they brought their iPhone up as their new phone, iMessages worked, then they went back to iTunes and restored with their Backup which contained all their data, photos, music, etc.

  • Itunes will not open when connecting iPhone

Does any one have a clue how to fix this issue? I have two iPhones (my wife's and mine). I don't have that problem with her's. Thanks in advance.

That support document was for if the iPhone was not recognized by iTunes. You say now that it is, and that is why you do not see a solution.
I'm not sure about the setting for opening iTunes, because I have automatic syncing turned off. That can be especially important if you are having issues with the phone. An automatic sync can delete things when syncing with an empty calendar, or contacts list. I've always opened my iTunes manually, but you can also uninstall iTunes and reinstall it. If you are using Windows, you need to do this by following this support document exactly. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923

  • After downloading i0s7 my itunes will not open on my iphone.  It opens for a second and closes.  I've upgraded, updated and restarted my phone a number of times? Anyone experiencing any similar issues?

I've downloaded the new software on my iphone and now it won't open itunes.  I've done the upgrade, restarted my phone multiple times.  Anyone experiencing similar problems.  This is infuriating, how can the software mess up a previously functioning device and apple offer no remedy?!

I have already solved the problem by accessing the music tab then logging to iTunes store through it. It hasked for my apple id which was provided, then access was approved.
ever since, I am accessing iTunes directly and there are no problems.
I wonder whether this was the link to the solution.
