I have a 13 inch MBP. I had to log out. It would not let me restart or shut down unless iTunes was closed. And, iTunes was not responding to the FORCE QUIT option. It would quit, then reappear. Hope this helps.

Hi there. I just bought a new iMac. Used to have a pc. Plugged my nano into iMac and it transferred my purchases fine. Bought a new album on i tunes and it will not download to my nano. Does anyone have any suggestions? Much appreciated. Thanks.
You may not have the iPod's Music tab set up in iTunes, which is how you tell iTunes how to automatically sync your iPod.
Select the iPod in iTunes. There is a row of "tabs" (starting with Summary). Click on Music there.
To use automatic syncing, the checkbox for Sync Music is checked. Below that, you can choose to sync Entire music library, if it fits. Otherwise, you can choose to sync Select playlists, artists, albums, and genres.
With the latter choice, you can create a selection of songs to sync to the iPod by selecting (checkmarking) playlists, artists, albums, and/or genres on the Music tab. For example, you can make a playlist in iTunes with all the songs you want on the iPod. That new album needs to be on that playlist, if you want those songs synced to the iPod. On the Music tab, checkmark that playlist.
When you Apply the change, your selection of songs sync to the iPod (replacing its existing content). Going forward, any changes in the iTunes Music library that are related to your selection of songs on the Music tab sync automatically to the iPod when you connect it, or when you click Sync.
Therefore, if you create a playlist with songs you want on the iPod, and select it on the iPod's Music tab, you can simply update that playlist in iTunes (add and remove songs), and those changes sync to the iPod automatically at the next opportunity. -
I just changed my apple ID because I needed to change my e mail account. My new ID updated on all of my devices except for iCloud on my phone. My phone however will not recognize my new Apple ID for iCloud? Any suggestions?
To change the iCloud ID on your phone you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the new ID. If you only changed your ID and didn't create an entirely new ID, you can choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted. Your data will download back to your phone when you sign back in.
Save any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll before deleting the account. Deleting the account deletes the photo stream photos from your phone. -

Is the address on your iTunes account exactly the same (format and spacing etc) as on your credit card bill : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1646 ? If it is then you could try what it says at the bottom of that page :
If the issue persists, contact your credit card company and verify that they and any company they use to process credit card authorisations have the correct information on file.

Mail application will not close OR force quit
I own a macbook pro running mountain lion. The problem is that my mail application says its open but i can't find a way to close it or force quit it. Is there any way to stop this bcause it won't let my computer shut down because mail is open. Thanks.
3rd party Safari items would include SafariStand, SAFT, PicLens, Inquisitor, etc. They are installed in your HD>Library or User Account Library>InputManagers folder.
I suspect you may have created some directory problems (on top of the existing problems) when you shut down your computer with applications still active. A second time won't matter. After the shutdown, restart holding down the Shift key until the log-in screen appears (above the Log-in screen you'll see "Safe Mode". After the log-in completes, go to the Finder: In your HD>Library, look in the Startupitems folder for any odd items. If anything is there, let me know what is installed.
If nothing odd there, then restart the computer, except this time hold down the P/R/Command/Option keys until you hear 3 chimes. Then release the keys to continue to the log-in etc.

I have a bunch of mp3 files that I would like to rename the original file name. Itunes only allows me to change metadata, but to fix broken names and keep organized, I need to change the file name. Once I rename the file, it shows the new name, and then upon playing it, it reverts back to the original name. I do not have any locked permissions. I have parallels and tried to rename them on the windows 7 side but same effect. I tried to shut all programs off so the file was not in use. I even tried to export it as a acc file type. I am exhausted looking for a solution, this is why I am using this forum as a last ditch effort. Please help.
As far as I am aware, iTunes does not rename files (at least nto my older version I use). Yes, it will insist upon the files being in certain folders which is structured from the metadata, but the files themselves keeep whatever name you use.
I suggest this be moved to an iTunes forum (you choose for Mac or for Windows). I have never seen anybody else complain about this in the past.
One question, do you subscribe to Match? Is there anything else using these files, some third party software? -
iTunes will only play about half of my music downloaded or ripped. What is the deal? Also recording is shut off. How do I turn that back on?

Please!Now I just uninstalled iTunes 7.7 (or whatever the latest one is) and then restarted my computer, but apparently some files have been left over, because the version of iTuens that I'm attempting to install (7.6) says that it cannot install because a later version of iTunesis installed. Then it lists a Library file and says that it cannot install because a newer version of iTunes created the Library File.

I recently downloaded a series of instructional videos. They are in mp4 format and rather large (~500MB on average). When I try and open them with Quicktime (default) they will not play. Are there file size restrictions? I have gone through all of the most recent software updates. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

I am attempting to get Facetime on my new Mac Mini to connect to Facetime on my new iPad 32 G through my WiFi router. It rings on the iPad but after clicking on Accept, all it does is try to connect with no success. I have tried to reverse the order of the connection (iPad to the Mac Mini) but no success. The problem seems to be with the Mac Mini as I have been able to connect my iPad Facetime to my local authorized Apple dealer Facetime software both ways (i.e.I have connected with them and they have been able to connect with me.) I would first try a reset of the device. To reset a device, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. You may need to attempt this multiple times.

e-mail is jammed free trying to send video. e-mail in settings re jammed too, any suggestions?
Try resetting the device by holding down the home and sleep key, past the red slider, and until you see hte silver apple. That will reset the device with no damage to your info.
What you probably did was try too e-mail something too big to be e-mailed. I shot a 3 minute video that was 80+ megs....e-mail often only allows a fraction of that. It's likely trying ot upload something it can't handle, and is hung up. -
I have just added I cloud to my PC and my Calendar is stuck trying to move to server account.
It has shown a couple of failure messages but I cannot access preferences as ther are greyed out.
What can be done to stop calendar trying to upgrade?I am having the same issue. I am on MacOS 10.9 and the "genius" at the Apple Store deleted all my events on iCloud and attempted to re-upload them but the Calendar app has been in limbo, "Moving calendars to server account" for days.
If I quit the Calendar app and start it back up it immediately resumes uploading. So currently my Calendar app is unusable.
I would like to do 2 things. First, get it to stop moving events to iCloud. And second, find out how I can sync Calendar events from my Mac (running OS 10.9) and my iPhone 5S.
The reason why the Apple 'genius' was trying to clean out my events from iClous and re-upload them was because despite having iCloud turned on for Calendars on both my Mac and iPhone, they were still not syncing all my events.
