I recently upgraded my Itunes softeware, now itunes will not recognize my IPod Classic. If I delete the current IPod software and reinstall it, would this solve the problem, and if so, I'll need step by step instruction.
Yep.
Take a look here:

It appears that SANmp is indeed the most likely source of your problem. -

No matter what I try i can not get itunes to recognize my ipod nano when I connect. I have tried multiple trouble shooting fixes on the site.

I have tried all that…I have tried multiple chargers and have not had any success! I think I have a lemon! Not too happy about all this either because I will probably have to pay for support since I have had the phone for more than 90 days
While Apple may request a Pay-Per-Incident, if it is determined that your device has a hardware issue, that PPI will bewailed after troubleshooting is completed. Or, you can request that they waive that if you've already done a lot of troubleshooting. The PPI is only for issues that a user could resolve on their own but want Apple to provide a walkthrough over the phone. You can get free support by going to an Apple Store instead, for example, as well. -
iTunes will not recognize my Nano 6th gen. as a device. It has been recognized in the past and iTunes does recognize my Nano 4th gen. The device connects to the Mac and charges allright. All of the functions on the Nano work but want to modify my music, I'm tired of the same songs etc.

I'm not sure if it charged when I hooked it up to my roommate's computer, but it definately didn't register either. If I put it on the dock it plays so the port is fine, but that still doesn't help me sync it to my computer. -
Hi all,
I'm having a problem where neither of my ipads are being picked up by itunes when they are pulgged into any USB port.... They used to only 3weeks ago...
The only thing i have done is purchased an Ipod of ebay, and loaded music on to it.... i have only just found out the ipod is still registered to who ever had it before....
Is this the problem and any ideas how to solve it guys....?Two separate problems.
For your iPads, try going into the control panel, add/remove programs. Uninstall iTunes, Apple mobile device service, Apple application support. then redownload and reinstall iTunes
See if it sees your ipad now.
For the iPod, what you've run into is the activation lock. It's a new feature of iOS7 where an owner's apple ID is needed to wipe a device. If the ebay seller cannot or will not give you that apple ID, contact ebay and return the iPod. There is a very good chance that your ipod is stolen (or at the very least not the seller's to sell).
If you can't unlock it, you've bought a brick so get your money back. -
My 16 gig iPod Nano 7th gen was put of power. I connected it to the computer and it started to turn on (the apple appeared in the middle of the screen). Then left it two minutes and the computer went into sleep mode. My iPod nano had gone off and now it will not turn on, or connect to the computer, so i cannot charge it. I am not sure if it is a problem with the usb cable. When I conntct the cable to the computer nothing happens, but then when i connect the iPod to the cable it says 'one of the USB devices attached to your computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it'. Please don't say its broken already
It probably needs to be reset. The procedure is different for different Nano models: http://www.apple.com/support/ipodnano/assistant/itunes/

Itunes will not recognize my ipod nano
i plug my ipod nano into my computer and itunes pops up and tells me it has detected an ipod (which is not visible on the left side tab) and tells me there is a problem. It told me to connect my ipod again and try again. I did. It did not work. the same message appears and also tells me if the problem happens again, uninstall itunes and reinstall. I did. Still it does not work. I do not know how to fix this problem. Please help.
Sincerly, irritated.iTunes 7 is having this problem with my iPod 30GB Video. It worked at first, but the system hung while attempting to update my iPod to 1.2. After rebooting it never recognized my iPod. I've since checked my iPod out on my laptop and my work computer and it works fine at both of those. I've finished the update to 1.2 on my laptop, but it still doesn't work on my main computer.
I've tried uninstalling iTunes, using the Windows Install Cleanup software, deleting files from temp directories, all of the stuff that the troubleshooting docs suggest on this site. None of it has gotten that computer to recognize my iPod again. I am not about to reinstall windows so what is my next option? -
I've transferred my itunes library from PC to Macbook pro running latest itunes and now it will not recognize my iPods (nano 4 and 5th Gen an Ipod touch). All music is there and playable but will not recognize any devices. Help please
The ipod is not a backup/storage device.
You need to copy everything from your old computer to your new one.
The Apple store will do this for you, you can call apple support and they will help you, you can use google. -

My itunes will not recognize my ipod shuffle after installing Mcafee
My itunes will not recognize my Ipod shuffle, I have tried almost everything Itunes has suggested including uninstalling and installing Itunes. I am at a loss, the computer recognizes the ipod and assigns a drive to it. When I click on the drive there are flies in it. I have disabled the firewall, checked all firewall settings as suggested in previous forums. I have tried deleting the temp files but that keeps getting hung up on a file that says it is in use. I can stll use my ipod because it charges but I can not update songs etc.
I contacted Mcafee but all they did was turn the firewall off (I could have done that myself).
If there is any help I would appreciate it!
Thanks,
NadineThe first thing I did in the morning was contact McAfee they turned the firewall off it didnt work so they said it wasnt their problem. I attempted several other things using ITunes help but none of the solutions worked. I would say it is something in my computer but the drive shows up in my files so the computer is reading the USB port. I tried changing the drive but that didnt help.
I cannot find a universal "OFF switch" in McAfee But I have turned the firewall off several times after many different attempts.
I do not find an area where I can tell Itunes where the Ipod is in Windows Explorer, that would be helpful at least it could try to locate it then. You would think this feature would be available since Itunes would like us to purchase music through them to load on our equipment. Since my computer does not recognize my Ipod there is no need for me to purchase music.
Do I sound frusturated - I AM But I appreciate your trying to help. -
Itunes will not recognize my ipod. How do i fix this?
Itunes will not recognize my ipod. How do I fix this?
Connect your iPod to any computer with iTunes installed, highlight your device and try syncing the apps only. If it doesn't work might have to restore through iTunes. With the new iTunes and iCloud beta, you can have the iTunes list what apps are missing on your device but if you had previously purchased in the past and then have iTunes install them. You should always get in the habit of backing up your iPhone whenever you do any firmware/OS updating/upgrading or transferring over to new device. I really really really really hope you can get back at least some of your old info. I will tell you this, I have been kicking myself in the butt for not routinely backing up my iPhone when my beautiful special iPhone 4 came up missing and had to revert back to my 3GS. iPhone 5 will be released in a few months so I am holding off on purchasing a new iPhone til then, not that I did so without reservation and a little bit of iPhone 4 withdraw.
