Itunes will not see Slvr

I am running the latest Itunes and now Itunes will not see Slvr. It will sync my address book and calendars but will not see slvr in Itunes. This is a Cingular phone. I hope someone has a fix.

I'm having the same issue. I called Apple and they weren't able to help. This is crazy. The phone isn't even a year old. Is this just a gimmick to get us to buy the new iPhone?
I tried all the fixes outlined on another post and nothing works.

I bought a new Ipod touch, my itunes will not see the mp3 songs I already have on my PC

I have thousands of mp3's on my PC.  I used to use a Zune, it died I made the move to I pod touch.  I downloaded I tunes to my PC and a small amount of my music showed up on the screen.  I did a search for an artist for whom I have lots of songs.  I tunes can't find him and tries to direct to the I tunes store to buy stuff by him.  Unacceptable
So then I went to my windows explorer, opened my folder for the artist,  right clicked on a song,  chose "play" and  I tunes then played it.  So now I tunes can find that one song but none of the others in that folder.   I don't want to do this drill with all my songs since I have thousands that I tunes can't or won't display.  Is this just some cynical move by Apple to get me to re-buy music I already have?

Windows 8 has not been officially released nor is it supported by iTunes.

  • I have a ipod mini, i upgraded my battery, and drive to 32 GB, my itunes will not see it, and the mini only shows file pic error. I have a 10.4.11 powerbook 667 so i can't upgrade to a newer itunes, which is 4.7.1, all i want is a better battery-more song

    Hi,
I have a older ipod mini which needed a battery, so i also upgraded the drive to a 32 GB flash drive. When i did the upgrade, it saw the itunes fine, but it never loaded anything. When i unplug it it shows the folder with "!" icon, and i can't get my itunes to see it. I have a powerbook 667 mhz g4 with itunes 10.4.11, so i can't upgrade to leopard. All i wanted was a better battery and a bit more song volume. This older 4 GB will fit back in and works fine, but i'm upset i spent $37 to only fail. What am i doing wrong? itunes is 4.7.1 How can i over come this?

In Disk Utility, select the iPod (the device) in the sidebar.  So, if you see the iPod in the sidbar with a "volume" indented below the iPod, select the "device" (not the volume).
Go to the Erase tab to the right.  The choice for Format is Mac OS Extended (Journaled).  Name does not matter, because iTunes will rename it during the Restore.  Click Erase.
    it "flashed" out of itunes.
That may be an issue with the USB connection.  As a test, shut down (power off) the Mac.  Disconnect other USB devices including USB hub, except for standard USB keyboard and mouse (if normally used).  SInce this is a laptop, connect it to its power adapter, so that it's not running on battery power.
Connect the iPod to a direct USB port on the Mac.  Note if there is any difference regarding the iPod not maintaining a connection.

If you have been through all of the steps in the knowldge base article, especially restarting the Apple Mobile Device Service, have you tried connecting in recovery mode?  Start iTunes, connect the USB end of the cable, and then while pressing the home button connect the dock connecter end of the cable to the iPod.
But most basic, have you tried connecting using different cables to be sure there is not a wiring fault?

  • Macbook & iTunes Will Not See, Sync or Charge iPhones

After months of no real problems, my Macbook (OS X 10.4.11) and iTunes (9.03(15)) refuse to recognize my iPhone or my wife's iPhone. No sync, no charge, nothing in the Finder window. One time it did recognize my iPhone but then gave an error message that iTunes could not write to my iPhone, and told me to restore my iPhone to its factory settings.
My Macbook and iTunes recognize other iPods just fine. Why not my iPhones?
Other computers recognize the iPhones just fine, so it doesn't seem there is a problem with my iPhones. As a result, I don't want to restore the iPhones to the factory settings and go thru the awful experience that was setting up my email accounts and other information the first time.
    I have tried:
    Swapping USB cables and ports
    Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPhones
    Quitting and restarting iTunes
    Restarting the Macbook
    Restarting the iPhones
This first happened yesterday, I restarted the Macbook and then my iPhone synced and charged OK. But now today the problem has recurred, and none of the above have been successful.
    Help!!!!!

Thanks for the suggestion to reinstall iTunes without uninstalling the existing version. That seems to have worked.
I do wonder about your snarky comment about my not being very anxious to solve the problem. I spent several hours trying to fix this and other errors encountered that day, which started with what should have been a simple enough process of moving an iTunes library from one computer to another.
I had written that based on the facts, I did not think that the problem could be with the iPhones and therefore didn't want to restore the iPhones to factory settings and go thru the pain of setting up email accounts all over again.
The fact that you suggested an alternative, and the fact that the alternative worked, proves the point that it was both logical and correct to continue looking for an alternative other than messing around with the iPhones. So I'm not sure why that comment was made.
Anyway, thanks again for the suggested remedy.

  • ITunes will not "see" specific folder in music folder

I am new to iPods and iTunes. I got an iPod classic as a gift yesterday so last night I installed iTunes and let it create a library overnight. I sync'd my iPod and all seemed well (~22GB in the library and on the iPod). I wanted to try the iPod so I turned it on and went to play "Hey there Delilah" by the Plain White T's which is in a folder along with all my other albums in mp3 format. It was not on the iPod. I checked iTunes and it was not there either. I tried to import the folder. Nothing happened. I tried to play the songs with iTunes from Explorer. Nothing. If I play in Windows Media Player it works. Any ideas? I have not determined if anything else is missing yet other than this single folder.
    Thanks,

+I tried to play the songs with iTunes from Explorer. Nothing.+
That is iTunes's way of telling you there is an incompatibility in the file. iTunes can be sensitive to corruption or variation in the headers, so it is not unusual to have an mp3 that plays fine in WMP but not in iTunes.
You will need to fix it up with a 3rd party program, or else use a conversion program to convert it to WAV and back to mp3 (which usually cleans it up).

  • TS1362 I have a Mac Pro tower, am running osx and iTunes will not work.. It basically just stopped working after having run faultlessly for...years... I can see all the songs, playlists etc, but the progress bar will not progress..it's 'stuck'. Suggestion

I have a Mac Pro tower am running OSX and iTunes will not work. It has always worked flawlessly. I can see all my iTunes content- my playlists, my songs et cetera, But I cannot play anything. The progress bar is  'stuck'...any suggestions?

Thanks. I have been using iTunes since its inception and have never had a problem...I'm using the latest version. The progress bar is the bar that moves when you're playing a song..it just won't start when I double click on a song,..have tried quitting, rebooting etc but nothing works. Apple are useless-they have told me twice they've tried to call me 'momentarily', but I've been waiting by the phone, and they definitely have not tried to call...

  • HT1459 Serial number is faded and too small to read. Itunes will not recognize my IPod Classic. How can I delete the current iPod software and reinstall it to see if this would solve the problem?

I recently upgraded my Itunes softeware, now itunes will not recognize my IPod Classic. If I delete the current IPod software and reinstall it, would this solve the problem, and if so, I'll need step by step instruction.

    Yep.
    Take a look here:

It appears that SANmp is indeed the most likely source of your problem.

Try updating your QuickTime Player to the most recent version. Does that clear up the launch errors?

  • HT1349 I have multiple albums that I've purchased that iTunes will not allow me to play stating they cannot locate the source. I then tried going into available downloads in iTunes to see if I needed to download it again, and iTunes tells me it is already

I have multiple albums that I've purchased through iTunes, and iTunes will not allow me to play them stating they cannot locate content.I tried going into iTunes Store and look for available downloads, but the store shows it's already downloaded. It's a lot of music i've bought and can't play. How do I fix this?

Forget the pad for a moment and just think about I tunes on your computer.  Every now and then( 3 times over 6 years) when doing an I tunes upgrade, I tunes seems to lose track of some of my music files.  They show up in the I tunes listing, but when you try to play, it cannot find the source.   The cause is always that I have somehow moved some or all of the music to a library that is outside of the set of libraries I have dragged into I tunes.
On your computer, search for one of the songs.  All the missing ones are probably together, and when you find one, you will find the rest.  When you find it, note the directory  and file path to where it lives, then add that path to your I tunes
    Ibarra.
Note, the original listing will still be in I tunes, so you will get double listings for theses songs, and no easy way to tell which is the valid ane and which is not, other than the ! Symbol when it cannot find the file.  I know of no good way to get rid of the duplicate listing except manually going through and deleting them.
One you get them back into your I tunes library, they will sync and play fine.
Second side effect,  if you are streaming to atv, and it comes accross one of those entries that leads nowhere, it simply stops streaming, and you have to restart the play.

  • ITunes erases iPod 2G and will not see it

I have iTunes 7 (most recent updates). I have the most recent updates of Tiger. I just recently updated my 2G iPod with the most recent software.
If I have iTunes open and I plug in the iPod (via FW), iTunes will not recognize the iPod. If I close iTunes and plug in the iPod, iTunes will open automatically and recognize the iPod, or iTunes will hang and I will have to force quit it.
If I have music on the iPod, and I have it set to manually organize, it will erase my music. Sometimes when I plug in the iPod, iTunes will pop up a wizard that want me to name the iPod and asks if I want to have it sync automatically. This usually means that iTunes happily just erase my iPod.
What is going on? Is Apple trying to tell me to get a new iPod?

He means 2G like Second Generation (Scroll-wheel) iPod, not the 2 GigaByte Nano. Yah, confusing.
I'd have to agree with Colin, however - if iTunes works, it maybe an iPod thing. If nothing else, try trashing iTunes and iPod preferences file. (~/Library/Prefernces/com.apple.iTunes.plst & com.apple.iPod.plst). That's the library in your user folder. Note that there's an iPod Pref file in the "Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences/" folder too. Find those files, and move them to the trash. Open iTunes, connect iPod, and make sure everything works - iTunes will regenerate the preferences files, although you'll have to re-adjust the preferences yourself in iTunes.

  • TS1717 Started a software update this morning which didn't work.  Now Itunes will not open at all.  I get the following message."The program can't state becasue MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer."

Started a Itunes software update this morning which didn't work.  Now Itunes will not open at all.  I get the following message."The program can't state becasue MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer."

There are a couple of options that I know of to fix the issue.
One is listed in this thread - https://discussions.apple.com/message/24606478#24606478 - and involves uninstalling iTunes and related components and then re-installing iTunes.  You will need to read the instructions in the thread to see the correct uninstall order.
Second option is use System Restore to set your system back to a date prior to the iTunes update.  I did this before finding the thread mentioned above.
Not sure exactly what the problem is but I know, after a search, that MSVCR80.dll was indeed already installed on my computer.

  • Tried downloading itunes version 11.4 and received an error code 2324. Now itunes will not work at all and I cannot sync my phone, ipad or ipod. How should I proceed?

I have tried several times to load version 11.4 and keep getting an error code2324, now I cannot sync any of my apple products. I set my machine to a previous recover date,  now iTunes will not work at all. I get a message stating I do not have the administrator rights to download. Any thoughts on this issue?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
