ITunes will not start:  Get same error message ever time...

I installed iTunes 6 and quicktime and now it will not start up at all. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling as many have. The only difference is I am actually getting an error message. I do not get an hour glass as many have. I have tried deleting the suggested file found at: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\SC Info
This did not work either. I keep getting the following error window, and never see iTunes even try to launch: PLEASE HELP!!!!
"iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvienence. If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on may be lost. For more information about this error click here"

hi Josh!
"iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvienence.
the first thing i check for with one of those is a broken quicktime. does your quicktime currently launch? if it doesn't, try these techniques:

  • Creative programs will install but will not open with same error message

Hello guys thanks for any help you can provide.
I installed creative cloud and install a few programs. None of the programs will open and I receive the same error message for each one.
Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 cannot be opened because of a problem.
Check with the developer to make sure Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X.
Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple.
All programs on creative say they are up to date. They have not been registered as I have not successfully opened one yet. I am running a ate 2014 MBP with a 2.8 i7 processor, 16 gb of ram and a 1tb solid state drive with 600gb of space free.
I have uninstalled the programs and have reinstalled with the same result. I have also followed solutions for other problems for programs not starting or loading, with no success. Any help on solving this problem or direction to a previous posted solution would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You

    Hey Mylenium,
Thanks for the response. I deleted all the programs, and then removed creative cloud. Then I ran the creative cloud cleaner, and rebooted. I reinstalled and so far everything seems to be working.

  • ITunes will not down load songs: error message is "Disk Full"

I-Tunes will not allow me to download songs; i get an error message instructing me to empty the recycle bin (it is empty) or to delete files. Has anyone encountered this? Any suggestions? I have plenty of disk space; I can;t figure this out (it is error "0.34", whatever that means)

What is "plenty of disk space"?
You should have at least 10%-15% free on your boot drive.

  • Firefox will not start. Have error message "Failed (unknown reason)". Now I cannot get to the Internet

I was browsing and was asked if I wanted to update Firefox. I clicked yes. Thought it loaded, but now I cannot get to the internet at all. Now when I attempt to open Firefox and click on HELP, it gives me a Downloading Firefox 3.6.7 - but it will not connect.

  • IPhone 4S will not start or charge, error message when trying to restore in recovery mode

So my iPhone 4S shorted out the other night while I was charging it. I did the hard reset and it restarted itself. But later that evening, it turned off and wouldn't restart no matter what and would not charge. When I connect it to my computer (mac) iTunes recognizes it and says it is in recovery mode and needs to be restored. It starts the restore process and the apple logo comes up with a loading bar but then when it gets to the "verifying restore with Apple" it gives an error message (9) and then the phone goes back. Please help!

    Hey rileyec,
I found this information about error 9:
    Error 9
This error occurs when the device unexpectedly loses its USB connection with iTunes. This can occur if you manually disconnect the device during the restore process. You can resolve this issue by using USB troubleshooting, using a different Dock Connector or Lightning Connector to USB cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.
via: iTunes: Specific update-and-restore error messages and advanced troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
If those steps do not resolve the issue, I would attempt to perform a recovery-mode restore:
iOS: Unable to update or restore

    Cheers,

  • ITunes will not recognize my ipod, error message included inside

"itunes could not connect to this ipod because an unknown error occurred 0xe800000a"
Yes, I have put it into Recovery mode and attempted to restore to factory defaults, with no avail. I also reinstalled iTunes, with no avail.

I had this same issue when I installed Windows 7 and iTunes 9. Go to the start menu, choose itunes, right click on itunes icon, restore previous versions, under compatibility choose run this program in compatibility with: choose windows xp (service pack 2) from the drop down menu. This seems to have fixed the problem for me. I, however, can no longer drag albums into itunes since changing compatibility. I have to change it back, then drag the albums, then change it yet again.
    Hope this makes sense.

Same problem today. Took five times to reinstall without any error messages. Apple has posted a way to fix and you should follow their's first. I finally got to upldate correctly by doing their fix but with one difference. I did the following:
    1) Went to the C:\program files (x86)\iTunes and C:\program files\iTunes folders and moved every file ending in .dll to the desktop (even if two files in same location had the same name, just replace)
    2) Restarted computer and still got error message
    3) Uninstalled all apple programs possible in the following order......itunes, apples software update, apple mobile device support, bonjour, and apple application support.....all performed using the microsoft control panel
    4) put all the .dll files on the desktop in the trash and emptied (this is a step apple support did not specifically put in their fix but for a final try I wanted to delete everything apple).
    5) Restarted computer.
    6) Re-installed itunes from apple website
No error messages during re-install and was able to open shortcut in one try. Even updated my ipad to make sure everything was working.
